Another Good One! I just recently stumbled across the monthly Tech Tips newsletter concerning the Torque Converter Relearn, newz to me. I thought maybe I had missed it in the SI. This has me wondering about all the VBs I've replaced without the TC relearn and the potential long-term effects.
My At Oil Temp light just came on my 2015 Crosstrek. Mechanic quoted me $2,200 to have my trans valve replaced. If I have it replaced how much more life do you think I'll get out of the car? It has roughly 113,100 miles. Thanks!
I can help, but here’s limited information here. I want to teach you a rule that carries to all sensors, all sensors are a garbage in garbage out device. Meaning the sensors input (what it’s reading) must be good for the computer to process. With that said, if you have a wheel speed sensor code and you replaced the sensor; then I would suspect a faulty magnetic encoder on the hub. If the old wheel speed sensor rubbed against the hub then there’s a change the magnetic encoder is dead. Good luck, stay in touch
People make fun of me for being a subaru tech but I just laugh because they are genuinely the easiest cars to work on in my opinion
Do you see a lot of leaky trans?
Jesus the spark plugs on a 6th Gen outback are hell. Especially the drivers side. There's no way to do it from the top

Can you replace the valve body without flushing and replacing the fluid?
