Sacrilege that they were left to rot away. I had a new '66 Bug fresh out of high school for my first car. I'd love to see as many of these fine vehicles as possible saved.
I've got a pic of the 23 window, it had been rolled though and then cut down to a single cab. Use to also be about 10 type 3s. The bp71 bus I guess is do able but probably not worth it. The bugs are toast for sure
It would be well worth saving the pre '67 bug and the '71 bus, could easily be looking at $3500+ as they are...and even more restored, I know this was uploaded a while ago but worth a shot if they are still there.
YES! they sell something like this on ebay for about 1000-5000 bugs! I have ssen an offer on ebay for someting worse without windows, any electrics or seats for 700€ - so about 1000$! JUST THE BUS!
problem is those small Rusty bits turn into square foot holes as soon as you start digging them out only to find that the whole thing is held together by the sealant and paint!!
I have learned that some one found the geo location from this video and in about 2 hours came to that remote area and removed 11 cars and the bus. Slick! The owner of the property has been deceased for many years, which left no one to really care.
Ve You really seen this Cars? You say ths bus still got all four Wheels on. I count only three..... The wheel rear left is missing, or You removed it already.....
owen75 No, I later learned that the land was owned by a very well known VW mechanic in this area of SC. He has either passed on or moved away and this was the remainder of his very large collection of vehicles. They have all been removed since this video was made.
What a great video. I am torn between not disrupting this strange vw graveyard and going in and salvaging what you can and put the parts back in use.
I loved those very large steering wheels. Thanks for the memories.
I was there even before you...we got the '49 Kombi Type 88 and the Hebmuller. This was quite a find! Retirement money!!!

'71, thanks for the tip! I'm fairly certain they are fully attainable. My question would be, is it worth it?
problem is those small Rusty bits turn into square foot holes as soon as you start digging them out only to find that the whole thing is held together by the sealant and paint!!
what part of SC are these in? Im in SC too and came across some VW's as well, but they are all gone now. I need some parts for my 73 sb
yes it's worth it
the bus looks in relatively good condition for a cheap restoration
Thats a 71 Bus with the small 5 bolt wheels and small air inlets! Any chance of rescueing them?
where in sc is this?
is that place still there? if so, where exactly?
I wonder if anyone would buy them of the property someday
Lots of money there in spare parts.
Where are these? I'm in SC too
Restoration candidate.
They still there??
definetly in germany a t1 bus with a lot of rust is worth 8000 euros :D
Probably just scrapped when the property was cleaned up. Sad.

You should take that bus home
So what did you end up doing with these old VW cars?
I know a guy that would buy them!
GD

it already.....
my guess is that these were stolen, engines taken out and the rest were left to rot

there were 11 beetles, mostly early 60's.
Not much hope for them.
people stole the cars then stripped them of their parts
And dimitri there is no 71 bus in the world worth 50k lol sorry
