Epic stuff from start to finish! :-) RE the beginning of the beggin segment... I followed your subscriber numbers with your last conflict with the third hand anonymous rape accusations posse. For all their shrill accusations, If it had any effect at all, it was tiny. what Ive almost always found is the 'IM UNSUBSCRIBING', 'U USED TO BE COOL', 'YOU DONT UNDERSTAND STUFF I DISAGREE WITH YOU ON' brigade is they make a HUGE amount of noise compared to their numbers. Great vid!
Just sent $19.99. Mr. Deity is one of the most brilliant and endlessly funny shows that I have had the pleasure to watch. I will donate more when I am able.
I miss Phil so much it hurts. He was one of my all-time favorites. I could watch him do anything. I'm getting all sad now just typing this. What a tragedy!
I look forward to seeing your long-running series of smart, funny, well-produced videos, often featuring other talented actors, and which you fund entirely out of your own pocket without expecting any compensaion for the hard work that goes into making them. Like most people here, I find the begging segment as entertaining as the main feature, and it's also an important venue for allowing BD to editorialize I outside of the MrD universe.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you! And we'll see you again soon (didn't know if you needed that last bit, but I like to err on the side of caution).
I have tried, without success, to understand what all the hubbub, bub, is; but its over my head. The sarcasm as humor has always appealed to me. As many have said, "Flock 'em if they can't take a joke. And joke 'em if they can't take a flock."
The Begging segment was the best part of this video. #1 "They already sleep with a pillow, what if their pillow were on the other side, would that be so bad, think about it". I'm about to fly out to see my 88yo dad next week .... I'll have to show him this vid. :-)
You are back on Twitter! I found this latest via your recent Tweet. I should think Twitter would make an excellent forum for Mr. Deity. It's cheap (free!), in place, and you can address all your believers--er, followers--very easily.
Well, that's exactly why I don't "pick sides" in matters like this. I have no allegiances. I am truly a freethinker. There are good points on both sides, and I'll cling to the good points wherever they come from.
I completely agree with this statement, and have never thought otherwise. But the initial claim about the accused was that he "coerced" the accuser into a position where she "could not consent." Then, PZ posted (as supporting evidence) a report of an incident demonstrating ABSOLUTELY NO COERCION. That's called a non-sequitur. It was dubious, unfair, and sleazy. And PZ is smart enough to know that the one didn't support the other. That's what I was satirizing.
LOL! XD You actually did it. Awesome. You just earned yourself another subscriber. Anyone willing to be this personal with his subscribers deserves at least two bucks a month.
His charity drive arguments are incredibly persuasive. I can't find any fault with his reasoning unless it's a morality derived from a divine creator. But he is the Divine Creator... *explodes*
Yeah, the tell-tale sign of PZ's bias is that his supporting evidence for the original case of coercion shows absolutely NO coercion. In other words, non-sequitur. When someone as bright as PZ makes such an obvious blunder, you know there's something else going on.
How very witty, rapier-like, positively Swiftian. And if we're talking "stupid" let's not forget you started with it. While we're here why not tell me another one about "His judgement". I really enjoyed the first one. Still chuckling at it and at you. Best laugh all day. Really!
Just brilliant. Again. £49.99 heading your way, Brian. Quick note: Brian's UA-cam user name is "misterdiety", but the subscribe link starts "mrdeity". Jus' doin' my public service.
I didn't realize that actually, but it gives me some hope for the future. (I've also been accused of it so I went over to some of their websites to find out what it stood for and was pretty shocked)
Mrwompin asked about the begging segment of this video and what Mister Deity was referring to when he said he lost some subscribers because of the the begging segment in his previous video "Mr. Deity and the Hat" which was a parody of the PZ Myers accusations. The Thunderf00t video includes the begging segment at the end, which will make much more sense to you after watching Thundef00ts video.
The begging segment on this vid was awesome. Congrats. Since we're not giving 10% of our income to a church (or "God"), why not toss a few bucks towards some nice skeptical gentlemen like mrdeity? Cheers.
Yes, there were all kinds of groups who were treated terribly. But in a short video like this, I think its best to pick the ones that are most well-known, make the point, and move on. Jews, Catholics, Italians, etc... all suffered terribly -- even Mormons. My point was not to make it a pissing contest of past grievances. I hope you understand the larger point I was making here. But I welcome any attempt you make in video or otherwise to make the point you seen so passionate about. Kudos to you.
Good point. Many people say that PZ and Michael are rivals. Making up a victim and her supporting witnesses to discredit him would not be unthinkable. I gave PZ too much credit here, because people speculated on who the accuser was.
Dropped a small but on-going donation your way, particularly for the way you've addressed the evidence-free, third-hand, anonymous rape accusations from people who've made very many lesser but still reckless accusations in the past. Witch hunts must be opposed. It's an obligation for those who would flatter themselves with the name "skeptic".
I agree with this as well. And this is the biggest problem I have with PZ's post. There is not enough evidence for any rational person to draw a reasonable conclusion in this case. It's hearsay which appeals only to people's already established prejudices regarding rape/sexual harassment, etc... It's a claim without any way to investigate -- which is what Skeptics need to do in order to verify the claim. And that's what was posted for Skeptics to see.
I've been a long time supporter, of yours, Mr D. I just have one thing to say... the criminal justice system is usually woefully inadequate to solve the problems that people defected on. We can't stop with just saying "go to the cops". Many people don't want to go to the police for various reasons, and both the cops and justice system often (but not always) drop the ball on convicting people for rape and sexual assault.
It is despicable act to hear an anonymous accusation about somebody committing a horrible crime, not knowing whether the accusation is true, know that the person being accused has never had a charge filed against them, and then go on a widely read blog and say everyone should shun that person. In your personal opinion people should be able to accuse people of being serial rapist, child abusers, or murders and be shunned when they have never been convicted let alone charged with anything?
Jess, you're just wrong about this. Please watch the video called, "Did I blame the victim." The part in the begging segment about refusing a refill of a wine glass had nothing to do with the rape part of the post by PZ. It had to do with the "supporting" evidence suggesting the accuser's "MO" -- where the woman says she didn't want to be rude or confrontational and so didn't say "no" to having her glass refilled. Then, she uses that to suggest a nefarious pattern. Unbelievable!
The drink part had absolutely nothing to do with the rape accusation. That was referring to the supporting evidence where a woman said she couldn't say no to a drink refill because she didn't want to be "rude" -- and then had the gaul to suggest that someone else was trying to get her drunk in order to rape here (despite any and all evidence -- nothing happened after!). I still say that's a complete lack of personal responsibility. But that has nothing to do with the rape accusation.
The hand episode has me thinking about the Philippines, how it's a dominantly Catholic country who had 4000 deaths, 1600 missing, and 18000 injured. I guess that last group were the protected.
Oh I completely agree about Peezus. You might remember me posting something about him that you said was an interesting take on it. About him basically running a secular replacement for religion, with the sharp in-group/out-group division, constant vigilence against apostasy and heracy, totalitarianism, silencing of critics, etc. I'm just warning against using conviction as the actual test of whether or not an accusation is true, mainly due to the low conviction rate for actual rapists.
Agreed. But the remedy that PZ pursued is equally disturbing. Can't you see that? On what basis can any of us make a reasoned, informed decision about the claim based on what we were given in the post. It's nothing more than an attempt to appeal to personal prejudice -- and that is exactly the way the community has split. The post did nothing constructive and did a great deal of harm.
I love your channel so much that I watch all the commercials.
Seyton Well, clearly you’re the best person ever - and my favorite!!!
Epic stuff from start to finish! :-)

What an awesome 50th B-day gift!!! Thank you Bri-Bri!!!
Love them moment when Mr. Deity peeks at his watch while Lucy is reaming him a new one...
Hahaha! You're still churning out gold after all these episodes.

Another good webisode. Loved the "pick up sticks/drummer for Motley Crue" line! Also signed up for monthly donation. Keep up the great work!
Keep em coming, that's what I say! Satire has a precious place in society and should be used to show how ridiculous reality is compared to fiction.
"That's the drummer from Motley Crüe" brilliant!
Oh my deity! I LOVED this begging section. I almost ruined my underwear from laughing too much.
Loved it!
Oh and my monthly payment to you, so worth it!
Keep up the high quality, I think you are actually getting better!
OMS! That's a brilliant idea. Thanks!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you! And we'll see you again soon (didn't know if you needed that last bit, but I like to err on the side of caution).
This one was particularly good ... well done!
I have tried, without success, to understand what all the hubbub, bub, is; but its over my head. The sarcasm as humor has always appealed to me. As many have said, "Flock 'em if they can't take a joke. And joke 'em if they can't take a flock."
Very well spoken, Peter!
Happy Birthday. Will I see you at the Atheist Convention in April -- in our former Mecca?

PS, that last begging section was my first real exposure to you and I should have subscribed right then.
Well, that's exactly why I don't "pick sides" in matters like this. I have no allegiances. I am truly a freethinker. There are good points on both sides, and I'll cling to the good points wherever they come from.
This is some even better commentary.
That's a good question. I used to have one. What happened?
Thanks so much.
Fantastic as always!
Just subscribed for a couple bucks a month, because i can't afford much else right now, but that begging segment convinced me...
Lucy you are an angel and Mr Diety you lucky son of a mother less goat.
I particularly enjoyed the begging segment.
This is a perfect example of how some treat this issue flippantly.
Yeah, someone else mentioned that below. I'm going to look into it.
You sir, are a funny man. Cheers
Also. I want to see your back yard. It looks amazing.
That's hysterical. It's self-pickpocketing. Like Romney's self-deportation.

I loled more about your begimg than your show!. Hillarious!
I'm only 1:23 in and this is some good shit. :)
Love you, Mr. D.
missed you!!!!!
LOL! XD

Excellent! Keep up the good work!
I have always maintained that the begisodes are the real show!
"i´m a fallen angel" i say , a gorgeous angel!!!😍
I love this!
Thanks. It's not easy after seven years.
I liked during the commercial. Didn't even have to watch.
It's all for you, LadyhawksLair!
So, when do we get to see the great jazz combo that does the theme music in an episode? :-)
Yeah, the tell-tale sign of PZ's bias is that his supporting evidence for the original case of coercion shows absolutely NO coercion. In other words, non-sequitur. When someone as bright as PZ makes such an obvious blunder, you know there's something else going on.
The episode: chuckle.
The begging segment: LOLOL
Great show Mr D!
The begging segment was ... I cant say "good", that would be wrong.
Funny ! Yeah so very very wrong but funny!
8-)
How very witty, rapier-like, positively Swiftian.
And if we're talking "stupid" let's not forget you started with it.
While we're here why not tell me another one about "His judgement". I really enjoyed the first one. Still chuckling at it and at you. Best laugh all day. Really!
Best begging segment ever.
Agreed. That was an underhanded move.
Just brilliant. Again.
£49.99 heading your way, Brian.
Quick note: Brian's UA-cam user name is "misterdiety", but the subscribe link starts "mrdeity". Jus' doin' my public service.
I can live with that.
I didn't realize that actually, but it gives me some hope for the future.
(I've also been accused of it so I went over to some of their websites to find out what it stood for and was pretty shocked)
Do you make more for ads if we don't click "Skip Ad"? I'm ok sitting through 30 seconds if you make more from it.

Guess Mr Deity still loves the Southern Baptists then!
Shingen - I was not attacking - I was asking the relevance. They cleared that up for me.
good show!
The begging segment on this vid was awesome. Congrats.

Mr. Deity, I like these glasses better than the wire frames. Either way, you are adorable! Amy, please forgive the lusting :)

I love the Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer reference. I miss Phil, mostly Clucky, the Cluckin' Chicken.
Amen!!!
1:58 "Caveman lawyer". Now there's an old SNL reference.
Hahaha! Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer reference! Noice!
Oh, great! He'll love me.
Yeah, that's one of my favorite memes.
I will. Thanks.
Well, she's more of a Deist/Agnostic now. I think the show and living with me has taken its toll -- in the right direction.
Good point. Many people say that PZ and Michael are rivals. Making up a victim and her supporting witnesses to discredit him would not be unthinkable. I gave PZ too much credit here, because people speculated on who the accuser was.
Glad to see Lucy again! :D Not that it's not nice to see you, El... Then again, I'm on her side with this one.
Brilliant!

You should try to get involved with Subbable. That seems to be a good, new place for consistent funding sources.
The hand episode has me thinking about the Philippines, how it's a dominantly Catholic country who had 4000 deaths, 1600 missing, and 18000 injured. I guess that last group were the protected.
Mr. Deity doesn't always get the grammar or pronunciation right. Check the other episodes. It's something I do in almost every episode.
Talk to the hand 😂😂😂
Shocking.
OMG, the last section, OMG.... ha ha ha ha!

What video was he talking about at the end that got so much hate?
I was going to say the same thing. :-)
Defections? Icompletely missed thatnews.
i missed all the drama. What happened?
