When she talks about disliking her body, I'm just stunned because all I see is an incredibly beautiful woman with a gorgeous, lovely body. It makes me kind of understand why my husband gets so frustrated with the way I feel about my body. He always tells me I'm beautiful and that he wishes I could see myself the way he sees me. I wish Shireen could see herself the way we're seeing her, not just in that wedding dress, but as she is when she walks in too.
It sits deeply in many of us, doesn't it. Even when in some situations we've learned to say "thank you, I do look good", we lack this perspective - this, what your husband sees (and, I'm sure, people around you). We know but we cannot see. But may we do see 😊
