      Thats what happened to my local video store, that helped make sure Movie Gallery didnt last long in our town lol.

    Here are suggestions: "Do you remember Hechinger?" "Do you remember HQ - Home Quarters?" Both are former hardware store chains.

    I remember Movie Gallery in my town. In the early 2000s, it flopped HARD. I only knew one person who went there regularly, and it was because they had outstanding balances at the 2 other long standing local video stores. One was a local one attached to one of our grocery stores called Angeli's video, and the other was a Family Video that we had up until like 3 years ago still.

    I used to love them. I always thought like they had a better rental store “feel” than blockbuster. They had a certain charming patina 😂

    I remember it well. Gotta give them credit for hanging in there but things change after 25 years.

    Good riddance. From my experience they treated employees terribly. They had an outdated and unrealistic system for processing inventory, it was similar to the system Blockbuster used but had wisely discontinued years before. When they closed much of the upper management migrated over to Radio Shack and applied their touch of death over there.
