Also it works really well with forehands. I kept turning over the Malta and the Drone throwing forehand, but the Quake and and the Buzzz OS held the line. I definitely recommend checking a Quake out of yoh get a chance. Thanks for making this video. I hope to see you in Tyler next weekend.

If you can, get some of the ESP Hornets. The zone is my favorite disc so I tried to build my bag around similar flights. The ESP hornet is what I consider as the Zone+.
Has better hand feel than Malta but pretty similar flight. (My hands are on the slightly smaller side.)
Has more glide than the Buzz OS and will push a little straighter before the dump.
Similar flight to wasp with a little more reliable of a fade and more stability.
Have never been able to get my hands on a drone so can't not say how it compares.
Good luck on finding the perfect disc.

Wasps are money. I was in the same dilemma as you. Previously I only bagged Buzzz’s of varying stability. But I wanted one with just a touch more over-stability while still getting a similar distance. Did some field work with a few different discs and bagged the Wasp. The first actual hole I used it on was a drop in birdie.

Wasp looked like gold. Predictable. Flew straight, no turn and over-stability doesn’t kick in until very end of flight. Sure, the over-stability seemed a little weaker when it kicked in but you’d hit your line more often than the Buzz OS which likes to hyzer too soon unless you full power it, which leads to less accuracy….
Either way, probably my fav disk breakdown, easy to see flights with very well rounded dialog explaining what you expect and the results that follow. Seems simple but every disc reviewer I’ve watched can’t seem to get the simplicity of doing it right. (I’m looking at you Foundation…)

I think which ever disc you can throw that far flat and have it finish straight or even a slight left finish will be great, especially when your buzzz would flip over. Which ever disc has a small amount of flip up into the headwind can be put on little hyzer to get a stronger finish. Into the headwind trying to force a raptor probably has it skipping too far left, which could he similar to some of these skippy overstable mids. Or you have a straight overstable mids and a beefcake. Great video!

As you know you had the most accuracy with the Wasp. It also seems like you preferred to have more fade at the end than the Wasp was offering into the headwind. Not sure what weight or plastic you were using but if the Wasp comes in a more premium plastic and/ you can go up in weight then the wasp might give you the little more fade that you are looking for.
Also trying the other discs that faded more in a less premium plastic and/or in lighter weights ;no matter what type of plastic.

I have been throwing the WASP every since I started throwing back in 2016 in Oklahoma (wind is very prevelant). I will say the plastic makes a HUGE difference in stability. The titanium plastic is one of the least stable plastics for the WASP while the Z and metallic Z is one of the most stable. I bag a z plastic and ti plastic wasp for my overstable slot and can always depend on a steady straight to overstable flight in a headwind. I love that I can control the angle of release to give it more lateral movement and it can handle all the power a driver can.

If you can find then Nebula are great they feel more buzzz like and they fly even further then the Wasp and have about as much stability and they are smaller diameter like the Malta.

DGA Quake is a must try! Similar feeling to the Buzzz OS (just a touch more shallow). It fades out forward like a Force while still dumping as hard as the Buzzz OS.

Wow,as I watch your videos as a beginner, I am so impressed with your drives! Considering I guess you weigh about 120 lbs, and are so lean, I wish I could command the power and distance and accuracy you do. Thank you.

I have an older z buzzz os and they have a slightly less deep rim and I love how they feel exactly like a regular buzzz. It also goes farther with an extremely reliable end of flight hook up.

I bag a Malta. It's great for headwind and situational shots (throwing around a group of trees). Also fun for short spike hyzer.

For me being a primary forehand thrower the Malta doesn't handle the torque as well and can sometimes become understable. I love the buzz and buzz ss, but now I'm really curious to see how well a buzz OS would handle full speed sidearm torque.

It's funny watching you try to talk yourself into liking the Buzzz more than the Wasp, as far as flight is concerned. Both have their place but the Wasp looked to be the more pinpoint and accurate of the two. I know what it's like to lean toward feel over performance but as you said in the video, you learn to love the feel of something after seeing repeatable and positive results.

I don't know if you want to have to over throw a disc to get it to work. That's a big commitment in the woods or narrow fairway. You want straight float to a dump left, right? I think the wasp does what you want without having to torque it. Probably more of a finesse disc. The buzz os is less forgiving if you miss your line.

I have been trying to fill out this slot as well. I love the Wasp although it feels pretty close to a stable Buzzz. It's also hard to find in ESP plastic for some reason. I think a seasoned Buzzz OS would have the perfect stability with the good feel in the hand and still be more dependably stable than a Wasp.

Throw a few rollers. Do it for the fans! Haha jk. I have only tried the Buzzz OS but I just got it a few weeks ago and have only thrown it a handful of times. I got it because I want something similar to how my Get Freaky Zone flies but get a little more distance with it and it works exactly perfect for what I got it for. I do have a Drone I got in a mystery box but still haven't tried it yet.

I bag the zone for those 250ft to 275ft stable shots, Malta and Rocx3 for the 300ft to 320ft, champ eagle or firebird for those stable shots 320ft to 360ft range. All these disc chew through the wind!!! Great video!!!✊ p.s. looks like the buzz os flys a lot like the color glow champion Rocx3. I'm going to pick one up and try it out.

This is a nice video format. Just bought a wasp based on this video. For me that will be overstable enough I think. My buzz OS is an absolute meat hook so i wanted something a little less overstable to bridge the gap between my Buzz and my buzz OS. Good luck this season! Greetings from the Netherlands

Great video. I think it's just crazy how you are a prime example that you don't need to be some big guy to throw distance and it has to do so much with technique and timing. Such an entertaining player to watch on tour because of the lines you choose that other players just can't reach, so it's not an option for them. Waco hole 18 for example.

I do bag the Buzzz Combo and never regret that:
    Buzzz OS (Z),
    Buzzz (Ti + Cryztal-FLX + ESP)
    Buzzz SS (Z-FLX)
The Buzzz OS (Z) replaced all the other OS mid range discs: Wasp, MD3, Malta, Roc3

You were throwing that Wasp awesome, but if that headwind were any stronger, it might flip over on you, and if the basket is really tucked left it may not have that ending fade you're looking for. Buzzz OS had a much more stable fade (almost like it fits a different stability slot than the Wasp to be honest). Maybe go beat in a handful of Buzzz OS's against a tree 20-30 times and it'll be perfect?

the perfect disc for you would probably be the hornet! its out of production, but they did a few limited releases as of late. its right between the wasp and the drone in overstability, but it has amazing glide! so in your case, wanting both distance and fade, it should be perfect. the drone has zero glide for example :D i have a beat in z hornet that is unreal!

  • @trixxpyro5572
    @trixxpyro5572 2 роки тому

I feel like with the drone and malta being super overstable, and the wasp and buzz os being just stable, you should release the malta and drone flatter or even a little anhyzer to get the most distance out of them since they are dumping left early. I really love your content and performance on tour! Keep up the amazing work!
