- My name is Paige Pierce, I am a professional Disc Golf athlete and I have been traveling the world for the last decade plus competing in tournaments. In 2018 I joined van life to make this career more convenient, affordable and comfortable. I’m so happy I've found van life, it’s the perfect balance between routine and daily adventure.
Van life isn’t JUST for the explorer (although, I am that too).. but it can also be super beneficial for travelling musicians, artists, performers or athletes like myself. I hope you enjoy this little glimpse into Alyssa and I’s life in routine in our home Vanna Kendrick.

Paige, try wrapping some white tape around those drawer hooks.. It should stop the rattling. Love ya!
Slipping rubber tubing over the hook shanks is another idea to the tape and might be a more heat resistant alternative so it doesn't up peel and get the adhesive all over.

One tip for the fridge. Always level your camper, in your case van, by the fridge. stick a level on the fridge and level the whole vehicle by that. It will make the fridge run more efficiently therefore saving you some power, food staying colder longer, and it makes the fridge last longer. My parents camper runs off electricity and/or propane and this is what my dad does with theirs. I hope to get to come watch a tournament sometime soon. Happy trails!

Paige, I just watched the coverage of the Champions Cup. I loved how you went and tried to console Kristin. I had a dad who was never satisfied with how I did. If I got 6 A's and 1 B, he got on me about why I did not get 7 A's. He was a flight instructor and tried to teach me to fly. Whenever I got nervous, he smacked me on the leg to try and get me to calm down. Finally, someone else had to teach me and I soloed in 8 hours. You have an amazing partner who supports you and keeps you level. Enjoy your own bubble and leave all the negativity outside of it.

Anyone who is looking to spend some time in a van this would be a cool video to watch!
Fixing the rattle on the Eye Hooks. Buy some cloth or Felt at Michaels or Walmart. Hot glue it on the anchor and poke a hole where the hook goes and no more rattling.
As someone who is obsessively in love with wood grains and natural finishes, that is the perfect vehicle. The beautiful wood gives such a peaceful feel that would give me comfort in the soul when the world is being a *butt!* Thanks for the tour, ladies. Super cool!

Great choice for a video Paige! After watching so many tutorial videos and "in the bag" videos, this video filled a hole I didn't even know existed. I've only been to one Professional Disc Golf comp. (The Preserve in MN this last summer) but one of the first things I noticed was all the pros vans. Its really nice to see whats in some of them. I thought they all had to be really uncomfortable. Now I know better. Its like a tiny house on wheels.
Btw, I made it a point to follow your card during that competition. It was a great reward to watch you and the other girls play. I really believe there is a well of untapped talent amongst the ladies of the world and I hope the PDGA focuses in on growing the female side of the sport.
Not only that, but the female card was a much more intimate experience. We were a smaller crowd and allowed to be much closer to you all. I hope that doesn't cause irritation but it made it a cool experience.
Vanna is just the best, she's so comfortable! I'm glad you felt that way, we aren't bothered by it.. we just play our game!
Instead of the eye hooks to hold drawers and doors down… I think they have a lot of childproof cabinet locking options out there now that may be a bit more functional and quieter

Interesting. One thing I would try to relocate is the water tank. When full it must be like 360 pounds of weight so far behind the rear axle. How much does it affect handling if it's empty or full?

It's absolutely amazing, how great whole van, home thought out! To every minor detail and every little thing. Which, if you think about it, not such a thing as a little thing. When specially you are on the road, through the full season. Ladies, two very enthusiastic thumbs up! 👍

Have you tried baby proofing drawer latches? They go inside the drawers.
Saw that on google, much tidier, agree totally.
Perhaps look into getting some magnetic latches for the cabinet doors and drawers. A lot cleaner look and no rattling of the hook latches.

Maybe velcro earthquake straps instead of the little eye-hooks? They sell them in white, and you can cut them to size.
Some serious space-saving skills ladies. Very impressive. The only par that's unfortunate I think is the pull-out table. Whoever sits where Alyssa was sitting gets to not be the table clearer =) since she wouldn't be able to move while food etc would be on the table. Other than that it's pretty nice. I'm always impressed with these vans. If you can live for an extended period in a van, then a house of modest size will feel like a palace. It's also awesome to be able to stop wherever you like to. I have a nice book suggestion for you - Travels with Charley by John Steinbeck. Very nice book about rediscovering the country.

Way to do TX proud! Now that summer is nearing, what are some of your favorite smoothie recipes?
Alyssa loves a pineapple spinach for the summer time and I typically stick with banana + berries! We like to add hemp seeds, chia seeds, sometimes goji berries too!

May I suggest you google the question regarding keeping drawers and doors shut when travelling. I'm sure you'll get some great ideas that are much tidier than what you're using at the moment. Really love the set-up though. And keep up the great game.

Yes! That would be such a fun video to create. It's so complicated but fun to problem solve and think on the go!
No van life vans actually look like work trucks. 9 outta ten work trucks got business info plastered all over it. Gotta get work. And they dented and scratched, because ya know, work. But privacy is important. Just dont fool yourself about stealth living. Edit: some random fleet info would add to the "work" look

any idea of getting you and other van life people to get the vans displayed on van life channels to help build your brands? I suggested it to one van guy channel I follow but he had no responses from disc golfers... just an idea to build your content community.

My daughter and I met you at Ledgestone in 2020 and you autographed a disc for her. Cool van. I didn't get to see inside at the time so it was cool to see it on here. I bought my van shortly before we met so I was peaking in the vans to get ideas. LOL. My van is done now. I went a totally different route than most because I also hunt and fish besides disc golf. It's got a little camo in it. Keep banging chains!!! #115841

If we’re driving across country, anytime fitness where we have a membership so we can shower or truck stops/Walmarts on the route. For tournaments we try to stay at campgrounds or parks or sometimes even at the course. And then off time you can check freecampsites.net or iOverlander

Very cool. Do you just hit up a local laundromat to do laundry? Was there a decision on why you renovated a van vs. getting an RV? Was it due to size, budget, and/or what events would allow? I think I've heard that at some events you can't park an RV due to space issues.
How many amp hours of batteries do you have? Also what toaster oven?

The only real downside of van life is no showering, just bird baths in the sink if you've got one!
We use our outdoor shower as well or the gym! It's a sacrifice but it's worth it in the long run!

Honestly with the costs of empty cargo vans now it might not be cheaper. For us the benefit was more being able to customize it ourselves and feel like home + it being easier to drive/park wherever.
