of course. even the lander can is several times heavier than this. considering that these types of challenges usually end with the last drops of fuel it is obvious why. I just hope they don't nerv the storage bay thing in some way
irl they would claim grand theft spaceplane or something like that, despite 5 orbits on one tank of gas being very impressive, though Kerbin is,only about the size of the moon. (I believe it has 1/6 scale of Earth, and I believe Moon is similar.)
5 orbits in a row without refueling to celebrate 5K subscriptions ! Thanks for subscribing and commenting , i really apreciate it ! : ) link to original version here : ua-cam.com/video/cfdd33HGijM/v-deo.html
Gene: Wernher! He had very good strategies, and you arrest him for his stubbornity?! He said, that he want's to be like Jebediah, so he did! Security; False alarm.
+Joshua Jeong They are quite similar actually, astronautics is focused on spacecrafts and aeronautics is interested in airplanes. There are just a few classes that differentiate these two majors.
+Joshua Jeong but I don't know what diffentiates aerospace and astrospace either. As far as I heard aerospace is commonly used to explain the industry (space travel and air travel market) and sometimes it refers to astronautics & aeronautics engineers combined.
+Turbo Pumped there is a mod called ven's stock part revamp , which looks absolutely beautiful. It also make very little change to the spaceplane parts.
+Turbo Pumped a quick question from a rocket scrub just now experimenting with SSTOs, why do you use the heavier RAPIERs instead of either the Whiplash or Panther?
Reminds me of the time I tried to build a rocket to land on the Mun, return to Kerbin, land at the Mun again, and return back to Kerbin. I never did get very far with it...
Well I believe the space shuttle did have the ability to bleed of speed during reentry by turn side to side so upside down isn't impossible as long as they ablative tiles were prevent to much heat
SpaceX's BFR rocket upper stage vehicle will go upside down like that during Mars atmospheric entry, despite what others say the force vector you'd feel inside is exactly the same as entering right side up, except instead of skimming on to of the atmosphere the vehicle digs down deeper into thicker air. They will need to do this in order to slow down to capture velocity around Mars, they're going to be moving too fast for a more normal entry profile to work.
Geez. And here I have trouble making a single spaceplane that can get into orbit even once, plus deorbit. :s Granted, I'm trying to put cargo up too, but still...
for your next challenge: get an orange tank to eloo by any means nessecary, but have it full of fuel for the return voyage... :>orange tank back from eloo after traveling by your choice of rocket. extra impossible: xeon for interplanetary transport
I had a new challenge for you. make submarine that can get to the island, launch from the water, and land in the water by the island and go back to the ksc.
This would be really good as a fuel/science shuttle. I made one playing career. In steed of landing. I hade a nuclear power science shuttle going to the mun/minmus, doing a 4-5 zones, going back to orbig around kerbin, meeting up the shuttle. Taking allt the fuel, transfering all the science A bit boring, but really efficent.
matsv201 I usually just launch labs with science to Mun/Minmus and sit there for about 10 years. And I get 2500-5000 science per lab. Tech tree is quickly running out of things to research - and my science mode turns into sandbox)
I wasted a little fuel on 2 occasions and had 70 liquid fuel left on the final landing , so i think I would still have managed 5 orbits with a inline cockpit instead of equipment bay. But not with a Mk1 cocpit or mk1 command pod - the craft needs the shielded docking port to be able to fly at up to 1600 m/s in airbreathing mode without blowing up
That was silly... and amazing! Did you get higher efficiency with the oxidizer or was there just no way to orbit such a heavy craft the first time without it? And how in the world did you get the control authority to do those reentry flips with just two dinky control surfaces!?
Yes the oxidizer is there to help it into orbit, not for efficiency. I pumped the fuel further back to make the plane more unstable and therefore more maneuverable .
Could you do a real time video to explain the ascent path in more details ? (especially for the first orbit). I don't know why but when I tried it, at 40km the plane had about 150m/s less than in the video so keeping it pointed at 25° couldn't prevent me from losing altitude and I had to keep it at 45° for a little bit. By the time I got to a 75km orbit, I had only 3000 liquid fuel which is something like 230m/s less than what you had.
getting this plane into orbit at all is hard enough , so if you got 3000 fuel in low orbit you dont have much to learn from me :) Thats over 6500 m/s Delta V. I was often at 3000 myself when i tested it . Maybe try to go a little flatter after the oxidizer run out to pick up even more speed ?
Impressive.
ok
Impressive this is
- SWYodennis
Mini cargo bays + chairs seem to be replacing usual crew capsules in challenge mode KSP everywhere.
of course. even the lander can is several times heavier than this. considering that these types of challenges usually end with the last drops of fuel it is obvious why. I just hope they don't nerv the storage bay thing in some way

How does a lead engineer of a space program arrest a pilot for a succesful quintuple launch?
irl they would claim grand theft spaceplane or something like that, despite 5 orbits on one tank of gas being very impressive, though Kerbin is,only about the size of the moon. (I believe it has 1/6 scale of Earth, and I believe Moon is similar.)
+The UA-cam Phantom Official The moon has 2 times TVE diameter of kerbin
ElTroll 1768 damn, guess my facts aren't straight then, thanks for the correction.
The UA-cam Phantom Official kerbin is 1/11 the size of Earth....
You don't post videos often...but when you do boy are they worth it.

+Turbo Pumped ,Man, you really makes the Impossible!
+Turbo Pumped nice! Good luck in UA-cam career -- me, your Russian fan ;D
In a month you gained 2,018 more subs?! Try and do seven orbits for 7k!
+Turbo Pumped how will you do a million subscribers?
What's that song!? I must know!
Gene: Wernher! He had very good strategies, and you arrest him for his stubbornity?! He said, that he want's to be like Jebediah, so he did! Security; False alarm.
U-turn reentry...
Fukin' ell.
As an undergraduate astrospace engineer, I have to say that you are way better than any proffesor in the field.
is astrospace different than aerospace? (my dream is to be an aerospace engineer)
Simply Perfect! :D
Thanks !
It was the shielded docking port that made it possible, I just wish it looked a bit more aerodynamic :)
the shield hu? ... hmm ... i must do some testing.
+Turbo Pumped there is a mod called ven's stock part revamp , which looks absolutely beautiful. It also make very little change to the spaceplane parts.
+LIl' Doge Doge Does it change the airflow around the shielded docking port?
+ElTroll 1768 i have no idea
watched all your videos in a row and I'm glad that I watched this one last, had a *blast* watching them, thank you for your chanel, subscribed!
Watching this video, I'm like "good job." Then I realize I'm watching Turbo Pumped and I'm like "well obviously="
I watched all your videos, and i must say that you're very great! Please, continue with what you're doing ;)
why did he have to get arrested he was flying beautifully
Dude I love all your edits xD All funny and cool as hell :D Keep up the work man XD
Thanks, glad you like it :)
Totally gonna use this craft. Not only does the design prove to be very efficient, but also it looks friggin awesome!
Awesome job! This finally got me to subscribe!
Really impressive demo, extra props for Dropkick!
You sir, have truly earned my like and subscribe!
Another amazing video as always! =)
They way you tell your stories is so exciting.
You'r so amazing men ! I'd love to have your talent !! you deserve way more subs and audience
nice , dropkick murphys and kerbals 2 of my favorite things. Also really impressive craft ya got there.
Awesome job man ! LOVE FROM FRANCE !
+Turbo Pumped a quick question from a rocket scrub just now experimenting with SSTOs, why do you use the heavier RAPIERs instead of either the Whiplash or Panther?
The rapier have better top speed and high-speed acceleration
Also probably oxidizer to help to circularize
keep posting the good stuff turbo :)
this is love, keep the musics n roll the videos!
This is really good!
Amazing
Would never be able to build the incredible craft that you build. Amazing Video (favourite is the mighty midget)
Keep it up man :) great work
thanks mate , im working on a new video right now :)
You're as bold as brass. You deserve so much more views !! Shame I can't share, I don't know anybody playing KSP...
Really cool video! very nice humour as well. ;)
Very well done!
excellent music choice!
This. This is art.
I like how you did your U-turn maneuver, I did that with my Av.C. Goliath, it didn't turn out so well...
Every lap - 600 Fuel gone
Wow, it's so epic x) !
Raybro is fucking radical.
He sounds like that guy that comes to work high all the time. RayBRO.
Turbo pumped . . . You are a madman
I have a feeling that a few of these could be turning this into a sort of orbital race
10 orbits soon? :D
Nice job !
Great job... i could never recreate this!
That U-turn gave me a braingasm
What a badass...
Holy shit that U-turn was sick
AWESOME VIDEO! I'm really impressed by this fucking dV.
Also, thanks for sharing craft file. Will try this asap ;)
Reminds me of the time I tried to build a rocket to land on the Mun, return to Kerbin, land at the Mun again, and return back to Kerbin. I never did get very far with it...
would the upside down re-entry be possible in real life?
Skythedragon Well if you dont minf your organs everywhere. Sure
Mizz Wizz Ok, I do mind that, so I won't be doing any upside down-re-entries, but I think Jeb does not care, he survives falls from 100Km
Well I believe the space shuttle did have the ability to bleed of speed during reentry by turn side to side so upside down isn't impossible as long as they ablative tiles were prevent to much heat
I do remember the space shuttle had a pretty weird reentry profile, if I recall correctly it came in sideways in order to not skim the atmosphere
Heck, I cant even land a plane fro orbit, let alone the same plane 5 times... well done
He never left the atmosphere on the video, all his orbits were at 60km!!!!!
I see someone else is a fan of whatever music Matt Lowe uses too
Turbo is a great rocket builder
impressive
You are a god.
Turbo pumped: WOOHOO
*Runs out of fuel*
Turbo pumped: this comment is boring
Dang. I just realised he was moving the center of mass by pumping fuel from one tank to another...
You rock =)
good vid
Keep raybro kerman around, I've taken a liking to him
TranslucentEntertainment your welcome friend :D
I'm amazed if I can do one.
Nice! My record is going to minmus and land at the runway, the going to minmus again and then land in the ocean.
5 Orbits in an SSTO and I can only just about mange getting one.
i like the roleplay ( - :
멋지네요
I complement on your channel's music choice
That was great lmao
Круто !
Raybro is the king!
gg
Meanwhile I can't even launch a plane correctly
And i can't even land correctly on ksc after an orbit
Enigma Энигмa ikr it's hard
Geez. And here I have trouble making a single spaceplane that can get into orbit even once, plus deorbit. :s Granted, I'm trying to put cargo up too, but still...
well. his cargo on the first flight is enough fuel to put a spaceplane in orbit 4 times if you wanna look at it like that ;)
Kind of reminds me of virgin galactic spaceplane
Same music as from Matt's videos?
+Gameslinx It's the reason of my dislike .
Yep
+TechnikLEO Toppest of keks.

enough dV to Mun/Minmus and back sortof
this is why I bought ksp
OMG
real mlg pro
I was going to like the video but I like where it's at
song is ua-cam.com/video/ZELhHbKCL3Y/v-deo.html
he WANTS the pilot arrested. in reality the pilot has become famous over kerbin.

mesoth mesoth Don´t you need level 5 scientist to do that?
where did you steal that bus? it flies beautifully under your controll!
Love the song, Darude Sandstorm is my favorite!!
lol
do an interplanetary mission with this
1.25x speed is just insanity
ssto to eloo
+Optionalcoast74 ive wanted to see one of these forever. I think we have someone who can do it in Turbo
Its not too hard
An eeloo SSTO isnt hard ,ive seen a few people do it .
+kris fox guess I missed that theb
+derepa06 then
Why alternate version? I can't find another one...
here : ua-cam.com/video/cfdd33HGijM/v-deo.html
the originals music is blocked in germany and on some devices .
choose which version you like best : )
+Turbo Pumped A youtuber actually uploaded an alternate version of a video for us poor German GEMA peasants? Thank you very much!
+Turbo Pumped Are you sure this theme song fits worse?
I really prefer the yello theme,
but of course its really a matter of taste
+Maanuueel42 \m/(^_^) I'm arent in germany But i cant see the original one...THX U VERY MUCH!
>R.A.P.I.E.R. engines
>"efficient"
could you consider doing some tutorial videos?
I thought about it , but text doesnt fit these kind of videos well and my spoken english is very , very bad : (
Turbo Pumped then maybe just put a few unedited videos, that show the whole process of making these awesome craft, and flying them.
+Turbo Pumped Record the building and talk over the recording!
can i download that plane please? it looks great for my mission for my Laythe populization and colonization mission.
huh who new that raybow was from boston
No. Fucking. Way.
The Hammerhead is a real beauty. Is the design viable with the Mk1 cockpit rather than the service bay/docking port combo or is that too heavy?

Ps : you could also try to engage the nuclear engine earlier like at 18 - 20 000 m
it often pays off on heavy planes .
