- New PMV! This was a collaboration with my fiance @vogelchan that we've spent the last six months working on!
This PMV is set during books 4 and 5 of Warrior Cats, The Prophecies Begin, following Bluestar. The song is Be Calm by fun.

I like the detail of how fireheart and cloudpaw still had their collars when bluestar lost her faith. It makes sense she would just see them as kittypets without her belief in starclan to give them significance
I love how Bluestar starts seeing the world as abstract and Sharp, representing the fact that she doesn't know what she's looking at is the truth or not.
Additionally, Fireheart and Cloudpaw are the only cats who don’t look sharp and threatening, representing her mistrust and suspicion of everyone else.
i love the art direction in this- the ending was super chilling cause fireheart may be about to go through the same style change as bluestar

He received many prophecies that were quite terrifying
I like it how bluestar sees Fireheart as a crying child who still wears his kittypet collar, like he's still that naive kit who just wants things to be right. And you know what? It's true. Firestar havent changed his way of thinking through years, and he always have been that kitten with his big dream to save the peace, and this is what makes him such a great leader.

I think the crying resembles the more trusted cats? Because Graystripe, Cinderpelt, Fireheart, and Cloudtail had the crying faces. Idk tho

I love Fireheart always crying, maybe representing that he's a very sensitive cat wanting to resolve everything with peace that's why he's the one telling Bluestar to be calm
fun hack for anyone who's lurking in the comments. go to settings and set the speed to 1.5 and watch through the stylised parts like that. while editing the pmv, i would play it at that speed for fun. i call it the Bluestar Anxiety Simulator.

Correct me if i’m wrong, but I feel like Firestar crying in every scene after Tigerstar attacks Bluestar is to represent how he wishes Bluestar could be her old self, not some restless leader. Or how Firestar had felt the pain Bluestar felt

it does mean something! every stylised design was chosen for a reason and that's a great interpretation of firestars design !!
I saw it as because he was a KittyPet, she only saw what KittyPets normally are; afraid and soft.
She has seen this fear in a KittyPet before, Tiny/Scourge, and also CloudTail is seen as a crying KittyPet, so maybe that's what's up?

I love how the style changed after Bluestar got attacked and how she saw everyone even Fireheart her deputy.
I love it! And how Darkstripe and longtail looked sharp since they were Tigerstar's friends it gives good details since they were always by his side and were snappy and rude.
But i love it! It matches Bluestar a lot!
I really like how sympathetic this is to bluestar without "excusing" some of her worst behavior.

i really love how the people closer to bluestar, like fireheart and bluestar's mom (sorry i can't remember her name, it's been years since i read the books) are drawn more round to possibly show bluestar's more connected to them, or trusts them slightly? while all the other cats are drawn as angular to show she doesn't trust them
This is definitely one of the more interesting Warrior Cat PMVs I've seen. The way you portrayed Bluestar in this was great. I also did get a little confused by the sudden change in art style, but then I realized it was how Bluestar saw the cats around her. 100/10, will most likely have this on in the background on repeat as I do various things on my computer over the next few days
thank you for your comment !! you’re one of the first people who realised that the style change wasn’t just a style change, but indeed how she saw them ! ‘safe’ cats are rounded, untrustworthy cats are pointy, and fireheart has his kittypet collar to show hes so far removed from the traitor of thunderclan

With that in mind. I really like how Bluestar is made up of both rounded and pointed shapes. Potentially representing that she has limited trust in herself after the betrayal of Tigerclaw, feeling like she both failed herself and her clan.

Can we just appreciate all the little details in this? One that I caught was that when Bluestar was attacking the dog the background colours make sense for the first time in the more abstract style.

This took me really out of my comfort zone at first, but I was so pleasantly surprised with the art direction and just,, the whole thing just melts my heart
Both of your styles are amazing and unique, and all the effort put in this really shows.
I love the end, people tend to forget the trauma that Firestar goes through in the Darkest Hour, almost losing his faith just like Bluestar.
Everything in this is so good, from the music choice to the concept and the finished projet, you did an exceptional job !

It kind looks like after Tigerstar's betrayal, her world becomes cracked and different and see Fireheart(star) as still an almost a child in a way?

I love that "be calm" is always said by fireheart, its a subtle way to show how he is doing his best to support the unstable sentient cactus that is bluestar

This shows perfectly how Bluestar's mind slowly deteriorated after Tigerclaw's attack. She felt so broken, and her trustfulness was forever scarred.
This is so amazing! And I really love the aesthetic after Bluestar is attacked by Tigerclaw! I love themed PMVs or AMVs, I think it works better in a way to use symbolism and yours is really great and unique! Never seen one like this one before.

Wow his is so cool! I love the style change,also the fact Cloudtail and Fireheart still have collars in the simplified/ distorted style! I especially love how angular all the 'evil' cats are!
I like how after she gets attacked by Tigerclaw she sees every cat with spiky edges except for Fireheart. At the time she thought he was the only cat she could trust so he has smooth edges.

When I first watched this I was like "wh.. what?" So I rewatched it out of confusion. But in the 2nd viewing I realized so many things that I didnt catch the 1st time. It truly is amazing.

ABSTRACTING HOW BLUESTAR SEES OTHERS AFTER HER TRAUMA IS SO SO GOOD!!!! i ADORE this, as someone w ptsd i can relate hard to having your reality feel Completely Different after something horrible happens and just.... when it resolves at the end!! i love this so much keep it up!
I love all the little details in this, that while you do have to look to notice it, you don't have to squint and watch 10 other videos to get them.
- Everyone Bluestar sees as allies are round, everyone she sees as enemies are pointy, and everyone she's neutral about is a mix.
- During Tigerstar's attack there are 9 frames that include Bluestar: 1 to 6 feature artistic Bluestar, 7 is artistic Bluestar with stylistic eyes, 8 is stylistic Bluestar with artistic colours + markings and eyes, 9 is stylistic Bluestar.
- Fireheart has a blue collar, while Cloudtail has a red one, symbolizing the cats who brought them into clan life, Bluestar and Fireheart respectively.

This is one of the most heartfelt and unique Bluestar PMVs I've ever seen - it really stands out from the pack. The isometric style and symbolism in the style(s) used is absolutely brilliant - Amazing work to both of you!!
this pmv got recommended to me at what turned out to be the beginning of one of the worst parts of my life, late feb 2020, and i used to watch it over and over through my late february 2020-early march covid episode, and through the following year and a half before eventually long covid was diagnosable. the intial onset of covid triggered a panic disorder related to breathing that to this day was probably the worst thing i have ever experienced, in conjunction with the lockdowns aa few weeks after (i was asthmatic and worked at a dog kennel, front end, with international business travelers) i wanted yall to know, you never knew me, and you had no idea, but this song and video specifically was a huge comfort to me and helped ground me as a very very scared 22/23 year old who couldn't get answers from anyone.
It is also a fantastic representation of the mental health issues from before covid that i had felt i *finally* conquerred a few months before getting covid. I used to just watch this between the covid panic attacks and on the way to my old work after. its been over 4 years but this song ended up being number 2 in my spotify that year. thank you for your beautiful art and beautiful animation and depictions of paranoia/panic/fear/loss of trust in the trustworthy/the descent into It All and thank you for getting it out when you did. Like, from the bottom of my heart
The style change of bluestars mental breakdown kinda reminds me of warrior cats animated and I love it

The bluestar design for her psychedelic visions is absolutely beautiful!!
I love the transitions.. like the normal art style is when she super calm and accepting of her life... then the really cool abstract version is when she goes insane and is tense.
I like how it seems to be from the perspective of Bluestar. When her life is going good, and her mental health is stable, so is the art. Once she loses her mental stability, her world changes, and everything feels out of place. When she finally gets everything aligned once more, she is back to being stable, and her world makes so much more sense to her.
This made me cry. This reminded me of how beautiful of a character Bluestar was. In my opinion? Her arc is probably the best written in the entire series. Nothing will ever top Into the Wild (to be fair I’m only on power of three, tho I have gotten a few spoilers lmao) and this made me miss the thrill and excitement and suspense from the first series. Why can’t the rest of this wonderful story be told like how the first series was?

This is one of those animations that just has a lot of feels.characters like bluestar,yellowfang,and crookedstar all went through help so they could be stronger as characters,and stronger for those around them.warriors is one of those series that gives you the feels for these characters
god i love the art style change when bluestar loses her faith and mind. its more visceral and she looks like a deer in headlights. fireheart and cloudpaw/tail having their collars is also a nice touch.

Bluestar's allies and closer friends are round. Her enemys are spikey and sharp. Neutral cats are a mix.
Both fireheart and cloudpaw still have collars. Fireheart's is blue because bluestar brought him into clan life.

Instead of everything instantly turning abstract. It happens a little bit at a time. First thing. Eyes. Second. Shape. Third. Colour.

AHHHHH. This was so good guys!! I can tell a lot of work and passion went into it. Of course the style in the beginning and end was spectacular looking, plus the transition into the wacky style. Also, the main style was soo pretty and creative!! I loved it soo much. Even the editing that made the pictures move to the beat, it was amazing! Altogether, this was an awesome PMV. Props to Darkyfoot and Vogelchan for sharing this masterpiece to the world!
I ADORE the ending of this in particular. All of the buildup of how Bluestar views the world, coming to a close as her death approaches, then she offers the same support to Firestar as a new danger approaches. It's brilliant, and I really love this PMV's stylistic choices.
This is absolutely perfect. I love the uniqueness of the art of Bluestar's paranoid mind. It's perfectly potrays the craziness of Bluestar's mind and and then jumps back to the more normal style to show that she has healed. Brilliant! All praises to the artists. 💙
I like how Yellowfang is like the star clan cats when she's shown dead. And how Bluestar doesn't see Fireheart as a grown cat but as a child. Like this entire thing is just a work of art you did a fantastic job on it
I'm a few months late, but I really like how you managed to tackle Bluestar's trauma and mental state without glorifying anything! The simple yet distorted style really works in terms of storytelling.
I love how fire and cloud are soft and round to push home the fact theyre kittypets. The constant crying is also a loved feature

Warriors is getting a Cubist/Modernist movement and I for one am HERE FOR IT!!!! Great job with the bold color and style choices! My favorite part had to be the sharp designs of the Starclan cats during Bluestar's ceremony, and the panic in her eyes as she cycles through her nine lives. Lovely touch!

I mean, the way you changed her perspective and style when Tigerclaw attacked her was so unique and creative! And this song fits really well. This really shows how bluestar was affected mentally by Tigerstar, people seem to forget this sometimes and it really does excuse her bad actions when she was like this, if she wasn’t in a right mental state, a state where she was not very fit to be leader and make choices, yet still had the power to do so, she used her power and made bad decisions because of the mental state. She even said herself she would never name a cat like white eye because of their looks or disability (not sure where but I do remember it) and I’m 99% sure that if she was in the right mental state lost face would have never been bright heart’s first warrior name.
Just the beautiful artistic choice to show the snapping point of how Bluestar views everything is just out of this world! This was so creative and with just shapes you were easily able to show how Bluestar saw everything around her! Amazing video!
I think I've probably already commented here but honestly I'll do it again just to say how smooth your art styles are and how cool it is that they contrast so nicely without making the whole video seem jumpy or stitched together.

I love the symbolism dude
I really love the shapes and colour palette of all the cats after tigerstars betrayal. Personally I interpret this as bluestar slowly disassociating and becoming less connected to the cats around her. All the cats are not real anymore they’re just literal shapes
Okay. slight trigger warning because I'm going to mentioning mental illness. Just a warning so i don't unknowingly hurt anyone. ;w; alright?? alright.
Is it just me or did anyone else cried to this pmv??? idk. I mean... I know Bluestar isn't an extremely likeable character, but the way this video depicted her mental decline hit home for me, because it reflected how I was in that kind of state awhile ago. For context, I suffer from OCD and generalized anxiety, and it always felt like I was constantly fighting with my own mind. My distrust for people arose and I couldn't help but lock myself away from everyone and everything. it's interesting too because I never really thought much about this arc of Bluestar, but this pmv made me see her in a new light, and it made it deeply relatable to me. ;w; Not saying that I would go out of my way to do questionable things like Bluestar did, but it's just that I can relate to being in that level of irrationality and paranoia. So yeah.... you did a wonderful job with this PMV!! The style change was phenomenal!
I also have ocd and that definitely influenced how my wife and I wrote bluestar in this video. I'm glad this resonated so much with you ^^
