I haven't done any marking yet. I have tried a few power gradients trying to get multiple colors, but that is difficult with a blue laser to get consistent results. At the higher power levels, it will make a very black patch on stainless, so I know it iwill mark text nicely. One thing Opt told me was with this much power you should angle the laser a few degrees so the reflections don't hurt the laser.
@@alexchopek1385 Correct. Its just tricky to get the power and speed just right, and the pattern of the fill. Also, I started with thinner peices of SS sheets and warped them badly.

@@JNWoodworks with the xt8 I think I might be able to produce different colours if I can accurately control the temp of the steel
