Thanks for the video. I've also seen people mount these to the inside of the angled trailer bracket to give them a little more clearance. The ratchet faces inward but not a big deal, still pretty easy to operate.
I went to my local farm and ranch store yesterday and bought two 6 foot long self retracting 1500 lb capacity straps. I cut the short strap off of it and used the hole in the body and bolted them to my trailer. They work just like these do and cost me 19.99. I don't need to pay for a catchy name!
In so many of these mounting demonstrations the trailers seem to have the same 'bent' mounting tag on the trailer. This bent tag inevitably results in some very bad mounting of the ratchet body on the trailer. By now I would like to believe the trailer manufacturer has produced the trailer with a designated mounting point that enables a proper and secure mounting of the ratchet unit.
They're handy but I definitely woulda went to the hardware store n grabbed a couple 7/16 bolts n regular nuts n spot welded the nuts to the bolts after they were tight to keep them from up n walking away one day at the boat ramp
If you are looking at buying these things for your boat, DON'T!! I put these things on my brand new aluminum trailer to hold my boat, thinking that all f the "reviews" were good. After the VERY FIRST trip to the water, the next time out they became hard to release. I then took them off, sprayed them inside with corrosion X, lithium grease and even MAX WAX!! They made three trips to the water, after the third trip I had to cut the straps with my knife to release my boat from the trailer. I currently have two giant chunks of rusted together garbage to show for my money. DO NOT BUY, unless you like throwing your money away.

Great video, definitely would have went with black bolts instead of Gold bolts!!

For sure, they could have added a bit more to the ratchet mount.

I probably should weld my spare tire too. Thanks for the tip!
They do look more functional, and easier to operate. "Pimpin the Boat", haha.
Heck ya! Lol
Bro thanks for putting this together. I have the same boat and this REALLY HELPED! Are you considering wrapping your 175?
Have something in the works for it, should be wrapping it soon!

What are the lengths that you can purchase this type of Ratchet strap, please comment back.Would love to know thank you
At any length, it’s ratcheting.
Great video , Shot in the dark and the ratchets installed in the wrong location. Yeeeehawwwww UA-cam.
That’s weird, they are installed in the only spot… that works great.
I have a problem with mine straps staying tight do you no how to fix that
Too tight?
U didn't use brackets hmm
How long does it last after taking couple dips in the water??
They are water submersible. Should last quite awhile.

You’d be surprised, thanks for watching lol!
POOR LIGHTING IN YOUR VIDEO
