This was really helpful. I wish brands weren’t calling these lip oils. I’ve tried many and to me they’re just lip gloss. A lip oil IMO would feel more like Aquaphor in texture.
I agree! I like the thinner ones that people don’t like because I think they are actual lip oils! I think the Dior, nyx, etc feel more like elevated or hybrid lip glosses
@@AbbeyYung Great video! One question, previous lip oil video showdown you had Clarins lip oil at #1. Have you changed your mind about that one? Trying to decide between Dior and Clarins and hoping Clarins is better because of $$ lol. Thanks ❤
I just returned the Clarins lip oil (1st time returning a makeup product ever) I prefer the Haus Labs or Nyx to the clarins 😳 it didn’t moisturize my lips at all and felt like cooking oil on my lips. Also left a weird taste in my mouth!
I will stand by the HAUS labs lip oil. Maybe it's because I picked up like 10 when she was clearing out her amazon stock, but I LOVE the way it looks on my lips. Low maintenance, too. I can put it on my lips and some color will stay after the shine wipes off, but isn't annoying to reapply like other lip products. It's definitely my go to.
Yes, they are pH- adjusting, that's why. I definitely want to pick up that particular one after doing my own research of high-end lip oils. Clarins was a close second, but I liked the fact that the HAUS ones left behind that tint/light stain.
Would definitely recommend Korean lip glossy tints and jelly tints/oils if you prefer that type of formula. I honestly feel they’re superior to most western lip oil formulas.
Korean glossy tints & rare beauty lip oils arent actually lip oil. They feel like lip oil the first few minutes but the moisture doesnt last since they’re water based. They’re not as occlusive as an actual lip oil. An actual lip oil is faaar superior when it comes to moisturizing your lips. Speaking from experience and as a formulator & as a big fan of korean glossy tints. I use both! When the moisture/gloss from a korean glossy tint is gone, i layer an actual lip oil.

The Inn Beauty lip oils are sooo good, but I don’t like the glazed/sparkle ones. You can feel the glitter in them. (Unless they’ve changed the formula since I last purchased from them like 3 years ago.) But I am so grateful for this video. I was struggling out here.
You need to try innbeauty glaze #1 candy apple! It’s a super sheer muted not bright red (I’m pale and like a sheer lip oil) and the candy apple scent is SO good. Def my favorite lip oil ever! It just makes my lips look a lil more alive, since mine are pretty pale
I’ve never tried a lip oil before but definitely feel like I might be missing out. Your videos are always informative and helpful. Your opinions, thoughts and recommendations are greatly appreciated Abbey😊💗
There is a new lip oil by Ansy cosmetics, 99% vegan and cruelty free made in Slovenia Europe. It exists in 3 colors, cherry red, pink berry and with no color. Let me just say that, if i put it on before sleeping, i have that lip oil still on in the morning and it feels so soft without the sticky lip gloss feeling!! It is so so good. Please try this!
Hi Abbey, I've never wore a lip oil like ever. There was quite alot of brand's that I haven't heard of. It was great to hear your thoughts and views of each one. How are your other projects going for you?
^ For me k-beauty lip tints are hands down the best and most are at a good cost( I won't spend over 20 on a stain). For me i love a lip stain that lasts and by nature of a gloss/oil it's not going to be looking glossy for hours anyhow and u need to reapply.
I have the same Haus Labs lip oil, been using it for over the year. Love it! I'm paler than you and I find the color works for me, I think it just depends on your overall coloring.
Agreed. I love a translucent, bright pink lip oil and I have a light skin tone. The HAUS LABS looked gorgeous and is on my list to get. I actually don't like the super sheer ones. I paler than Abbey as well. Everyone has their specific preferences though. :)
I don't wear lipstick and never tried a lip oil but I'm tempted by all your picks! Your sweater definitely looks like fluffy cloud hug. I wouldn't wanna take it off either haha
Lip oils are really nice if you're not a lipstick wearer. Gives you some color without the maintenance of wearing a lipstick (which I hate) and without the stickiness of a gloss.
