Such such sad news :( I’ll never forget him doing backflips at Nats 2016 and we joked around making him solve a Square One (since his cubicle jacket said Lin on the back) and he could barely solve it LMAO. He was a great guy and always had a great energy around him. Rest In Peace Edward.

Thanks for the story man! :)
Edit: I'm so sorry about what happened. Stay strong. 😓 I was at nats 2018 as well, but unfortunately I never talked to him.

I remember seeing him at Southern Championships 2018. I’m absolutely shocked he passed away at such a young age, and I can’t even believe it. May Edward Lin Rest In Peace.

I met Ed back in 2013 at a Berkeley competition. Dude was so hilarious to be around and he instantly captured my attention and became one of my best friends while I still cubed. Past all the shenanigans was someone who was extremely smart, savvy and someone who didn't care to do things the conventional way. As I drifted away from cubing I would always remember TING and when I'd pop up at the occasional Bay Area comp I'd always hang around with him Mitch Riley Brandon and Ryan and it would be a blast. Can't believe it's been over 2 years since he passed, it still doesn't feel real.

At my first comp(Stanford Fall 2012), he placed second so I knew he was fast. Sad to hear about this :(

omg, this is crazy. I found your channel because your 3d printed ring gun video was suggested to me, so I looked at your other videos, and found this one.
I know what happened and knew Ed through another friend on the internet. We were trying to get the authorities to investigate and detain his roommate, who almost definitely is responsible for poisining Ed. This is so tragic and sad. I still don't know what happened to the roommate responsible for Ed's death. Rest in peace Ed.

Do you know what happened to him? You don't have to answer this if you aren't comfortable btw.

If you get to the 3 hour and 24 minute mark, you can try to make out of what the dad has interpreted. It is truly, truly, very unfortunate. I hope Edward finds peace in heaven, and his family can find justice. I will remember what Chris has heard from him, and use it in my own life. What an incredible man. We need to never forget to strive for a life where we can nurture powerful idols like him.

I'm not entirely sure who he is. The name is familiar. He was at world's last year too so I might of seen him there.
Cubers don't know about cubing before they started. That isn't necessary bad but it is a little unfortunate if they don't want to learn about it at all.
Yu Nakajima is probably unknown to a lot of people today and the 7.08 WR isn't seen as the iconic record it is they'll focus on 5.66 or 5.55 but even then many kids today want know about those. These are kids and they just want to solve cubes and a lot want to be fast but don't want to do what it takes. The only way they will have only chance of learning about cubing of yesteryear is to make UA-cam videos about it and hope they watch.
Also Yu Nakajima was nemesis free a year ago depsite not competing since 2014.
