@@themvp_in Hey 👋 Is it possible to use an laptop with i9 13th/14th generation and an RTX 4090? Just for stepping in. Because most of the time I’m not at hom🥹

I really advise on a 1 or 2tb NVME for projects alone, I'ts really annoying if you get projects upto 200gb and your main drive is full. If I would setup my pc again I would have a motherboard with 3 slots, 1 for windows only which could be a fast nvme for 500gb and then 1 for my software, and another one for my projects.

Go with 13500 more cores are always better for game dev and do not buy amd gpu for unreal engine. The support is not great for amd and you will miss out on some features. Maybe in future updates they will have better support but for now go for 4060. If you can find 16gb version even better.
13500 for workstation 7600 for beginners-intermediate workstation and more future proof 4060 if fairly priced like 25k to 30k INR 6750XT if under 35000 and about same as 4060
I am planning on building a desktop primarily for video production and cinematics. I do a lot of work in Adobe too. Would you recommend prioritizing a lower number of cores? I was looking at pairing the Threadripper PRO 5955WX, 16-core with the 4090. Should I go for a 32 or 64 core or instead go with the i9?
The main reason threadrippers are used are for the extra PCIe Lanes (GPU Stacking) & high core count. Ryzen & Core series processors will have better performance in 16 Core variants for your use case. Either 13900K or 7950X should be your choice

even in 2024, is it fine to go with intel because of it's unstability. im looking at the 12700kf or 14600kf because intel has more cores for lower prices but amd has better singl core performance. Also lga 1700 has no more upgrade paths.

Its been 3 weeks already so you might have purchased one but I would honestly advise against you buying a laptop for 3D game development. Laptops are made with cheaper parts and have a tendency to overheat which is why the high performance Laptops only last 3 years or so. Unlike a tower PC its harder to diagnose and replace faulty hardware. If you really need a powerful mobile solution a virtual machine like Microsoft Azure may be your best bet.
