I think it's hard for women to be vulnerable as well as for men.. I think the root of it is not just not wanting to look weak, but protection. Protection of MY image, how I look, what people think of me, what I think of me, protection from discomfort, or social rejection, shame, or bullies who might take advantage. I think the root of not wanting to be vulnerable at the end of the day is pride. AKA putting myself first, my needs first, my security first, my desires first, my image first, my life FIRST... When i put other people first in my life I can be vulnerable because I care more about making them feel understood, cared for, secure, etc. This is why we truly need forgiveness and strength to love people like God loves us... We need Jesus's forgiveness!
