I was 14 in 1972 but I discovered this melody when I I was 20+. Fullish was our Soviet government to ban all of the Western rock culture. If they understood and allowed to translate some of the antiwar lyrics ... You probably do not know our Soviet antiwar songs. Here is the one. Just feel the pain of the people of country that have lost 26 000 of its sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters of more than 100 nations and many religions . Almost every family here have suffered . The vidio of 1974 ua-cam.com/video/TGyvj6Tnj7M/v-deo.html

This is one of my all time favorite songs. I lived in Germany at the time. Reminds me of the Irish Revolution. i used listen to the wives calling in everyday about losses. Sad, but beautiful!

I would like to thank you for the song and the great video -which is from a film I can't remember. This was the first song I'd heard from Uriah Heep and I think D. Byron was a exceptional singer. Too bad he left so early !

Yes, Yes, Wonderful Song, Great Group! Before my comments are lost in the mix of 500+ - 1. Why hasn't anyone else clicked the like Symbol? 2. There were lots of Great Groups back then, an era never to be repeated - Fudge, Zep, Purple, Crimson, Santanna, Sabbath, Harum, Free, Crow, Chicago, Butterfield, Traffic, Floyd, ELP, etc. etc. etc. ...! How can you compare when You're 8 Miles High?!!! 3. The fabulous video - why no comments? Saving Private Ryan for War - well OK, so so.But the Father Daughter sans Mother relationship given by Hanna with the beautiful Saoirse Ronan (The Host, Byzantium anyone?) and the incredible Eric Bana, a stroke of genius (5 stars!)!

Hi Simeon, Like you I'm in my 60's, and seen some great bands in my time, including the heap. I feel so sorry for these younger fans, who can only see these great bands on UA-cam. Guess I'm lucky by being in London in the last 3 or 4 decades.
