If they understood and allowed to translate some of the antiwar lyrics ... You probably do not know our Soviet antiwar songs. Here is the one. What a band Uriah Heep was. What a Voice, David Byron. What a time, end 60s. I was born in Russia, and discovered this song first time when I was 16. Since then-and untill now- my love, love to Uriah Heep.
I got so bored 1 day of listening to Zeppelin and Pink Floyd (don't get me wrong but sometimes you want to hear something "new") and i was browsing through Spotify and played some Uriah Heep songs and I was blown away. I didn't know much about them before that, only a few songs like July Morning or Lady in Black but this music ...wow it's my new favorite band.
I remember this sad and beautiful ballad from going back to my teenage hood. I had one or two of URIAH HEEP'S albums. Sadly mankind has stil not learnt to this day. Wars cause nothing but death and destruction, when will we ever learn, when will we learn. That is also a song about stupid, pointless war. No-onewins.😢
I came across this with an old record and found it an extremeley moving song, especially in these times. Supported by the video, I consider this an almost epic statement.

Their rock and vocals have been in my head since my college days 50 years ago. Took my girlfriend to the show. She's sitting opposite me now, and remembers the night. March 1st St.. David's Day, Denbighshire Tecnical Coolege, now Glyndwr University, Wrexham, Wales. Also heard of them in the Blue Notes, Pittsburgh, when working around there for a few weeks, about 2010. Great sound!
I first heard Heep on WORJ RADIO FREE FLORIDA in 1970. Still one of my top 3 all time. This video absolutely captures the essence of the song.David Byron was brilliant. A great trip back to better days.

The best years of my life was living 1969-1973 in Berlin, Germany. I was able to attend the biggest rock concerts at the Deutschlandhalle in Berlin. Uriah Heep was one of the all-time greatest concerts in my memory.

When Uriah Heep came to Russia for the first time with the concerts I couldn't be present there and didn't know the guys then/ It was in the late 80s, as I remember. But one of my friends did go and said it was superb.
