Hey Chaps! Are you tempted to buy the Note 20 Ultra? 🤔 (also apologies I can't share more concrete info like photos and side by side tests - but I'll share everything in my full review) 👍

Actually I need it as upgrade from Note 8 but such huge value for inferior processor not fair for us.
Tom, thank you for a great update. Loving the 'unboxing' 👍😁 however are there any spare s-pen tips in the box as all notes normally have?.... or have Samsumg cut that out now?
Yeah, my N20 Ultra is arriving on the 21st of August here in Denmark and it's the Mystic Bronze version. Just love the look and I have ordered the Galaxy Live buds in matching color as well. I can't wait to try it out! Looking forward to your full review! I wonder how it will stack up against the forthcoming iPhone 12 Pro Max? Can you compare? I can also settle with the current iPhone 11 Pro Max. It will be interesting to see how their cameras compare. Cheers!
There is one great extra feature the Exynos version gets over the SD, is a winter warmer, just use the camera for 10 mins and the N20U will be lovely and hot for those cold winter nights! Samsung is still innovating, kudos!
If you do a battery test, please do it both in 120hz and 60hz modes for a better idea of the capabilities. Wouldn't mind seeing it up against the Sony Xperia 1 ii's camera, as that produces great photos.

What's up with the inferior processor in the EU?? I'm definitely NOT paying same full retail price for an inferior processor. Hard Pass this year around.
I've been using phones of about that size since the Xperia Z Ultra in 2013(smaller screen but larger body). Pro tip for using large phones one-handed: Get a case with lanyard holes in the side you hold it with (or drill if necessary)(the Xperia Z Ultra had them built in, but Ringke seems to make cases for them), stick a small lanyard loop through it onto a split key ring. Then you can stick your pinky through the key ring whenever you grab it. You end up holding it less carefully because you're not going to drop it, so you don't wrap your fingers all the way around, just lay them flat on the back, and you get an inch or so more reach. Bonus: If you're in a high place taking photos, you don't have to worry about dropping it. I know they have stickers or cases with something similar on the back to grab, but I find them too inflexible in moving around, whereas with the key ring on a string, you can slide around the phone as needed and it doesn't add a bump(maybe that's a good thing in this case though given the camera bump...)
@Paradoxical Nightmare I'm not sure it supports the 5g bands for my carrier. (Purely for future proofing). Any ideas of reliable places to get phones from the us?
Please go into detail on the selfie camera. I find Samsung's always have a horrible washed out look about them and are over-sharpened in good light and far too soft in low light. The S20's were an improvement but still not great. iPhone 11 Pro has the most pleasing front facing camera, although I'm sure that's down to the processing rather than the hardware.
Totally agree every year I buy a new note and my wife and I are dissapointed with the ridiculous selfies that come out despite the specs. Absolutely nonsense their selfie cameras I doubt it changed this year
@@frenchmeat There was a definite improvement between the Note 10 and the S20 so I'm hoping they've pushed it further with the N20 - I know it won't be iPhone good though. The P40 Pro's front camera was also really good, probably the best on Android so far.
The UHD 120 Hz is possible in the Snapdragon version but because the 990 exynos chip is not capable of doing the same they disabled the feature on both so not to further piss people off, this is not suppose to be known or discussed. This pisses me off because now both sides who are paying a lot of money for a phone are not getting full capabilities due to Samsungs incompetence. If they couldn't modify or upgrade the chip they should have charged far less for the phone, I bet people would be more ok with it if it had a fair price attached to it. On my side, in the US, I do feel a bit cheated too because I paid $1400 for the 516 gig variant and I can't choose a color or get full resolution at 120.

A comparison between the two devices would be greatly appreciated! Samsung Note 8 64Gb vs Samsung Note 20 Ultra. Thank you! 😊
My biggest pet peeve with the S20 Ultra is that the optic zoom is @ 4x and it does not take crisp photos/video and 2x and 3x zoom. I notice the quality drop significantly any zoom below the 4x. So it kinda forces you to jump to at lease 4x zoom for a crisp zoomed photo/video. If the Note 20 Ultra fixed this or improved it, that would be very nice. It isn't always practical to jump to 4x Zoom when you want to zoom in more, but also want a crisp photo. If the Note 20 Ultra now has a 5x zoom that may only make this issue worse in my opinion. :(
i LOVE how he was taking shots at other UA-camrs who says the same BUZZWORDS in their vidoes. Basically calling them SHEEP who all follow the same yellow brick road. that right there had me subbed.
The reason for Samsung not allowing 120Hz on full resolution , is not battery. Its because Exynos bandwidth. Cant support that. Samsung disabled it for all their phones and not only for Exynos, so that it wont make Exynos customers even more furious about the Snapdragon-Exynos inequality.
I'm in the same boat... Had a good hands on with the device at the mall and still undecided.... Only big drawback so far is the zoom.... Anything between 1 to 4.9x is terrible on the note 20 ultra compared to the 10.... But after 5x it's much better as expected, but only if subject is still. Any movement and you've got a messed up pic. I'm only waiting on the battery reviews I guess now as I'm stuck with Exynos.
If you take close up pics, stick with the 10. The massive 108mp sensor creates a lot of accidental bokeh so parts of a subject end up out of focus. If you take lots of landscape shots and low light, the 20 would benefit from its larger sensor.
Why would you switch a patched new release. The only thing notable from the Note20 Ultra is the 9ms stylus latency (same in the S7/S7+) which is awesome for that kind of input. A proper change would be every 3-4years. If I were you I would wait for the ARM/AMD SOC, either on the Note21/30 of next year or the 2022 model.
Im swapping my note 10 plus in for the note 20 ultra on the Samsung upgrade program, easy choice, never had any problems with the exynos chips , so that doesn't bother me.
The price of the Note 20 Ultra is always mentioned being € 1.300, but... this is not correct, for most buyers it is much less expensive. For instance, if you buy it with a 1 or 2 year 4g/5g subscription (which you need anyhow), the price of the phone is € 1.080 AND you get the new Galaxy Buds for free when pre ordering the phone. The Buds are € 190, so the net price of the Note 20 Ultra is only... € 890 !!! I did pre order with these prices.
Last of the Note Series but we didn't know this when the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra was released. The one I bought in August 2020 lasted 41 months with heavy use before the screen just gave up. A new screen, digitizer and partial chassis runs about $350 if I wanted to do the work myself but a new, old stock Note20 Ultra goes for just about $100 more as I've seen over the years. Here's where my usual sentimentality over my old phones isn't going to win this time. I've got every phone I've bought going back to May of the year 2000. Most of those are inert artifacts now. The older versions of Android are mostly inoperative now. My old Note20 Ultra was last updated in January or February of 2023. That phone quit at just about the right time. So long, Note20 Ultra.
@@jungleviper man they have been doing some weird things lately. I don't understand why would i buy the "NOT ULTRA" one, why it's even there in the first place. I guess just to force u to buy the ultra one with a crazy price that is not really worth the money.
@@chemhassan Totally agree on you comment. I mean I would probably still buy if its a Snapdragon but my country will be getting the Exynos version instead with the same price as the Snapdragon.... Like why??? I too do not think its worth the price they are asking.
Used a note since 2011 this is the first time I'm thinking of switching altogether. Why buy this when they have a better hardware in another region. And for the price it's just not worth it with what other manufacturers are doing now.
@@SimoPortti My question as well. But apparently (CMIIW) in the previous version the S10 and S10+ have Exynos 9820 while Note10 and Note10+ have Exynos 9825, so the chipset got slightly better. However in case of S20 and Note20, the chipsets are the same. Note20 has better spec and all but with the same chipset and lower battery capacity it worries people that the Note will be underperforming and won't last as good as the S20 (which is supposed to be the cheaper one). I didn't hear about this complaint on S9 vs Note9 though even though both sport the same Exynos chips.
Considering that the Nokia Lumia 1020 is still my favorite phone that I've ever owned (had a Lumia 950XL and a Galaxy S9+ after), I'm not bothered by the camera hump at all. Seriously considering picking up this phone to replace my S9+. Love the boxy design.
Smart move. I'm a note guy but have taken a break until somethings get changed like less or no curved bezels for one. As an artist the s pen definitely has its uses but 90% of the time its too much of a hassle for doing illustrations with those steep curved edges and end up using it more for smart selecting text and images which too can be a pain with the curves. If the note 20 ultra had the same display as the s20 ultra and same size battery it would be a no brainer purchase for me but since I knew it wouldn't I chose the s20 ultra and hands down its the best phone I've ever owned despite what all the haters say about it. Cameras are amazing battery life best I've ever seen personally, display is rated near perfection and has 511 dpi even higher than the note which is surprising since generally notes take the crown for highest dpi count. I'm was impressed with both the 9 and 10's but this time besides design aesthetic it's kind of disappointing it's not besting the s20 line in every category like it should be.
I've been a note user since note 4, currently rocking my Note 9. I'm worried the "sticky-outie" camera won't allow my phone to sit completely in the wireless charging pad in my car, and thus won't charge. Your extreme close up of that camera makes it look pretty protruded. Other than that (and the price) I would consider upgrading.
Definitely a top UA-cam channel for me when I want to watch some tech videos. Very informative and interesting. The phone is sick but expensive too. Your videos are some of the best no questions about it! Do you get to keep the phone? I presume yes you are able to
I've had every note since the note 2 and I've never really had any issues at all with the exynos chips, I've never experienced bad battery life on my note 10 plus. . I always use a case, so the camera bump is not a problem, I was glad that when I ordered the note 20 ultra that we got the buds live free, we normally get shafted in the uk as far as freebies are concerned.
Good review. 1. Can you clarify at minute 8.19 you show that using S pen one can download UA-cam videos. Is this new for I can’t do it on my more 10+? 2. Can you do a comparison of Exynos VS SD on Perfomance and battery life with 120 activated? 3. Other than latency, anything else new on S Pen? 4. Does UWB file transfer work with Mac and IPhones ? 5. Is there a mystic bronze 512GB ultra in the pipeline ?
After he said "Daily driver" i hate that phrase, "sticky outty" and i dont know why people do full unboxing videos. I knew that i had falling in love with his channel and i had to subscribe lol so relatable
Please compare camera with that of the Samsung Note 10 Plus. Would be interested to hear your thoughts/recommendarions for anyone with a phone prior to the Samsung Note 10 Plus (e.g. S9). Any huge benefit to selecting Note 20 Ultra over the Note 10 Plus?
Better comparison would be the s20 ultra and the p40 pro plus. IPhone has been done with many other phones and we already know both the p40 pro and s20 ultra outperform the 11 pro max in the camera department although the 11 holds its own pretty well considering whatbits working with.
Do you think the WQHD/120hz issue may be fixed in a future software update? I'm coming from a note 10 plus and was disappointed to see that I will be essentially downgrading my screen resolution if I want the faster screen.
Please do compare Benchmarks on the E990 on the S20 Ultra with the E990 in this. That'll give us a clearer picture. The rest of the Video is fantastic as usual. Been following you since quite some time. Love from India. ❤️

@@rallenabishek wondamobile is the best choice i think im waiting for the comparisons and if the shitnos 990 hasnt received any significant improvement i will import from there its completely trust worthy check trust pilot.
The S20 ultra in a few ways is the superior phone. Bigger battery, higher dpi/ppi flat display with minor curves to the bezel what the note needs not ultra curved like the note 20 ultra has. One of the main reasons I disliked my note 8 and skipped the 9 and 10 because drawing or writing anywhere close to the curve is a nightmare same with using smart select and trying to get the whole thing from one side to the next without the pen waterfalling off the side.
I'm regards to the screen, the only phone I know of that's 120hz 1440p is the OnePlus 8 Pro. I have one, and I am on my third replacement unit for faulty screen. If you research you will find that pretty much every device has pixel burn in, uneven lighting at low brightness, and blotchy color tinting. My thought is that a) they use a inferior panel, and b) trying to run it at 1440p 120hz just isn't working out.
Is it worth upgrading to this from the S10+? I do like the S-Pen but not sure if the price is justified, also S10+ (UK software version) is going to be getting Android 11 and already has the pro video update.
Flash well aware it’s a joke, I’m making a point that people who have no idea about the Exynos vs SD problem say this and have no idea what it all means
I love the fact that EVERY OTHER NOTE had the exynos chip but now everyone is suddenly bitching about it. I somehow doubt that thw difference between the two chips is noticeable. I seriously doubt it. It all just sounds like little children complaining when they're hungry, or tired perhaps.
@@TheM275 yep, and average consumers have absolutely no idea the specs of their phone or any internal components. So Samsung doesn't need to worry. There won't be an "anti-Exynos" protest anytime soon, haha.
I've always hated exynos. Emulation sucks, watching those with snapdragon play gamecube games while mine seemed to struggle to run even a dreamcast game was horrible. My Note 3 was snapdragon and it emulated amazingly, though too weak for anything more than ps1/n64. Own a snapdragon s20 Ultra and what it can do gaming wise is amazing!
Nice review! But wait , by the position of the bottom speaker it seems like your hand is gonna be covering it when gaming and that can be quite annoying right?
I wonder, since its an OLED panel, do you still see black smearing when scrolling either in lower brightness or in dark mode? I have the OnePlus 7t Pro and its noticeable, but then again I got it for just over £500. This being over a grand, I'd expect it to be not noticeable.
The part I look for in the unboxing are headphones (my us one won't have any) and pen nibs....a smasung rep told me it does have some, no one has showed any in box
All the unboxings I’ve seen globally include a set of USB-C AKG headphones. Look to be the same that shipped with the Note10/S20 and are pretty good for free buds. Sucks if you don’t get those in the US though! I have seen that most countries are offering free Galaxy Buds Live with pre-orders, though. As for the s-pen tips, they’ve come with every Note phone so far, and I think I saw one review mention that they will be included in the retail packaging.
@@shawnrrv and the rep said they would.....as for headphones, it is thought it is to do with higher cost of snapdragon.......i will take that trade off and feel a bit guilty about the plusses (is that a word) over exynos

You should consider getting the S7+ tablet, way better all rounder except for the camera. Better productivity and multimedia usage.
Never thought, this note 20 ultra has "heat pad for winter" feature
Hi! Which would you consider is the best phone overall? This or the Huawei P40? Thanx
Coming from the Note 10+....should I wait for the Fold2 or upgrade to the Note 20 Ultra?
Unless you want to have new stuff every year, I'd say don't upgrade yet

10sec of unboxing, I agree with u.
Does it come with a screen protector out of the box, like the S10 plus?
Looks like my Note journey will stop...
Why Samsung
The us model has a snapdragon 865+
They need to price the exynos phones cheaper. There's no way it justifies the same price tag as the snapdragon model.
Exactly
Correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't everyone outside US always got the exynos version of the note?

I wish I can have the phone right just like you. I pre order note 20 ultra few days ago
what case did you put on the note 20 ultra?
Nah, I'm not putting a case on it. The phone looks downright gorgeous as it is, I'd hate to hide it.
Btw, nice wallpaper
You're going to scratch up the rim around the camera bump after only a few times of setting it down on harder surfaces. Good luck.
@@headbangerdnb yup
Good luck keeping it in scratch less condition
I wouldn't do it your asking for trouble without a case
Considering that the Nokia Lumia 1020 is still my favorite phone that I've ever owned (had a Lumia 950XL and a Galaxy S9+ after), I'm not bothered by the camera hump at all. Seriously considering picking up this phone to replace my S9+. Love the boxy design.
Watched this on my Note 10 Plus and I'm definitely keeping it for at least two more years.
OnePlus8 pro vs P40 pro+ vs Note20 Ultra vs S20 Ultra may be iPhone11 Pro Max and Pixel4XL later. PLEASE❤
Definitely a top UA-cam channel for me when I want to watch some tech videos. Very informative and interesting. The phone is sick but expensive too. Your videos are some of the best no questions about it!
Do you get to keep the phone? I presume yes you are able to
They didn’t do wireless headphones, I’m surprised.
yep they did
I've had every note since the note 2 and I've never really had any issues at all with the exynos chips, I've never experienced bad battery life on my note 10 plus. . I always use a case, so the camera bump is not a problem, I was glad that when I ordered the note 20 ultra that we got the buds live free, we normally get shafted in the uk as far as freebies are concerned.
That displays awhh..... I can't take my eyes offf from it
Good review.
It's a great review.
It should be amazing if we had a camera comparison with Huawei P40 Pro and Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max.
Better comparison would be the s20 ultra and the p40 pro plus. IPhone has been done with many other phones and we already know both the p40 pro and s20 ultra outperform the 11 pro max in the camera department although the 11 holds its own pretty well considering whatbits working with.
Amazing phone of Samsung. Especially the video camera quality.
I would rather have a thicker Note with a bigger battery and with no camera bump.
@S. O. a bigger battery is always better. Also the camera sticks out with Samsung's cases, which is stupid.
Do you think the WQHD/120hz issue may be fixed in a future software update? I'm coming from a note 10 plus and was disappointed to see that I will be essentially downgrading my screen resolution if I want the faster screen.

Should a get a screen protector?
The note looks great especially the bronze color but I’m gonna keep my s20 ultra
You shouldn't need to think about a new phone for another year at least.
