England viewer here. Seeing some of the Haro, Hutch & other logos bring back memories from the 80's. Had a Raleigh Super Burner with upgrades of Mushroom grips, CW bars, Shimano brakes & pedals, Kashimax Aero seat. Happy days, think got ptsd from some crashes 😂
AWESOME BMX Collection! In Central Florida Winter Springs where I grew up in the late 70s and early 80s, we started dirt jumping those stingray look alikes like evil Knievel, then upgraded to a service merchandise team murray, first real BMX frame. After that had to broke in a few years, dad found an awesome diamondback BMX bike at a police auction that me and a buddy raced in Orlando FL mostly to jump and show off for each other while our dads get aggravated we don't win often. That was the mid 80s when freestyle really kicked in when I got a 1986 GT Pro Performer before the S downtube in that day glow orange extremely rare paint job. 9:13 The Huffy Sigma, that came out about the time I got my GT in mid 1987, some used term Sigma like an insult if you said that to someone's bike, like, "what kind of bike is that a Huffy Sigma with Haro stickers?" Those wheel covers and gray frame would be a tailtail sign from far away. It's pretty cool though, It is a piece of nostalgia, like that blue and chrome Team Murray I had even the movie Rad had one for a giveaway at a 7 Eleven, the freewheel version with the velcro pads, I had the coaster brake version With the snap button pads with the V handlebar.
I grew up in winter springs florida in the 90s and it's funny because that's all we did was jum ramps and race our bikes lol we had some sick clay ramps in casselberry off winterpark dr was a lot of trails to trails everywhere was a nice small country town honestly blessed to call winter springs home 🏡
I had a few of these bikes. I had a Kuwahara Magician that got stolen after only owning it for a couple of months. I was so bummed I replaced it with a Huffy Sigma and still remember that hum those disks made when you rode. Sick collection man!
I had two bikes of opposite quality back in '85~'86. A 1985 Magna Starfire which was not even as good as the Huffy Sigma but it was my ride to HS bike and around town bike. I bought it to make sure my real bike would not be at risk of being stolen. My real bike was a the 1986 GT World Tour. I surely wish I still had it ! An orange color with all the trimmings !!! I had it up until 1990 when I got into mountain bikes and got a Lite Speed titanium. I am going to get another 80's vintage or a new "retro build" at some point this year. I live on Maui so riding old school is always a pleasure.
Very cool. My last 80's BMX bike was a Haro with a chrome frame and black 5-star mags. Got stolen and that was it. I forget how much time I used to spend pedaling my ass everywhere. Got my first concussion trying to learn endos. Knocked the wind out of myself for the first time trying to learn rear peg tricks. I can still feel the agony of a metal pedal sinking into my shin bone, my shoulder smashing onto concrete, and my left wrist exploding. Good times!
42:48 🤣I love the first activity you mentioned was jumping it!😂I bet you get some 3 foot high, four second airs at least with 12 foot clearance hardly trying with that sweet ride! I'm sold I'm definitely gonna save up and get one of these thank you so much and I definitely wouldn't mind getting discount when I mentioned you!😃

Bruh first thing is first Tysvm for ur service in the armed services, as a retired soldier myself in the Canadian army. Ur bmx collection is far out and radical. Back in 1985/86 I bought a neon pink Kuwahara, I paid about $1500.00CAD/$1097.41USD. In the city there was a big Bmx thug going on. The top list of saleing bmx was kuwahara, red line, haro, diamondback, dyno, huffy, hutch, monogoose. It was real fun times outside with friends not like todays kids in front off a screen of some kind. What happen to my bmx, I was in army cadets for kids and went to summer camp that year in 86 and my bmx was locked up in my bedroom and when I got home after six weeks at camp my so-called little brother stole it and sold it for his drug addiction. I was so pisssed at him ikiked his ass. It was@ great bmx what I can remember. I am a new follower and sub to this channel
I bought a Schwinn Joe Garcia "pro" when I was 13, from sport Chek (canadian dicks sporting goods) It was basically the last somewhat quality schwinn before they went full Walmart brand. I'm 36 now, still have it in working order, over 20 years later. Not the most expensive bike, or desirable, but it's the bike with all my childhood memories
The vans brake pads reminded me of the shop in my town as a kid that I'd frequent. I bought two bikes from him, a Hutch Windstyler in pink, and a Haro Group 1 RS-1. When I was in high school I was a big POS and stole a pair of Oakleys from him. I tried for a second pair days later and he caught me. He ended up calling my house to tell my mom. To this day I am so embarrassed and ashamed. I ruined a relationship with a place I loved to go hang out.
Your collection took me back to my childhood.. AWESOME COLLECTION 😎 👍 all of them are AMAZING. my favorite is the hot pink/white HUTCH.. and my #1 is the all black DYNO COMP..
the sig and the performer go hand in hand... we all dreamed that under the xmas tree we wake up and there it would be the epic to this day GT performer... but if u were a middle class mid west kid like me than bet ur ass u spent that cold Christmas morning on the signma... deep down we were pissed but we always knew there wasn't a chance in hell our parents were gonna buy us a bike that costs what used car was priced for back then lol
I had a purple 88 Dyno Detour. It got stolen back in the day, but loved it! I miss that bike. Prior to that, I had one of those Huffy Sigmas. Cool looking but heavy, heavy, heavy! It wore me out fast!
My last race bike was a Skyway TA. I had profile 3 piece cranks and profile bars. I had araya 1.5" rims. It was chrome with blue decals. I loved that bike!
Much more a skater, I've always loved bikes, especially bmx. Busted out my green Powerlite this morning and ripped around the lake :) Taking it to the jumps later, WOOOOOOT! Awesome video!!
What an awesome collection! A few of my favorite ones are the Black GT Dyno Compe, the chrome GT Mach One and the white 50th Anniversary GT! Awesome collection, awesome video, thank you!!!
This video took me right back to my teen years in the 80’s and I recognize all those bikes… I had mongoose super goose to start, then a Torker (broke it)… 😂 had a Red Line Mx II, and also a beautiful Redline Proline, and my last bike was a Brent Patterson. Anyways, great video…
Wow, '86 Huffy Sigma 44:19. I still have mine! Mom bought it for me at Toys 'R Us summer of '87. It was my first 20" bike. Isn't this bike from 1987, though?
Dude that white Craig Turner GT bike is so badass but the only colors I've ever seen on 80s GT racing bikes was chrome chrome and chrome!🤣Glad i picked up a couple sets of Gary Turner 50th anniversary chrome pro bars before they sold out.
Love your collection, I've just ordered a Street beat frame forks bars and seat. What parts would you advise me to buy. Especially the stem and gyro detangler/brakes???
Do you have any vintage number plates with vintage stickers? I grew up in the Chicago bmx heyday, & still, 45 years later in still riding daily, & now share that passion with my 8yo son, but I am showing him "the old ways" of dressing our bikes up, & for the bikes we go on group rides with I like to make them stand out from the rest with Flite pads & a cool old number plate! 🤤

I got all my bikes in the 80s as a teenager gonna get some new tires and gonna ride my bikes

It to replica a 87 its got the funny rear were it meets the frame top tube in the middle of the seat tube just like your white one .had to look twice to see if it's the 2011 gt performer. Sticks out so much compared to the original 80,s performers
