Im an offline gamer so hearing you mention how much better it is than online gaming sold me My concern is online gamers act like gatekeepers and act like if its bad online only the game is bad I don't care for online gaming i want to be able to experience every option offline as if i did play online
For real. As a solely offline player, it really feels like EA has just completely left me in the dust because I don’t spend extra money than just on the game itself. All offline modes now just feel like a hollow shell that they just threw in there to shut offline players up lol.
@@Zay-i1l I mean I just play franchise mode and superstar mode. I don’t like playing people online, and I’m definitely not spending money on clothes for my avatar, or card packs. I play sports games to be a player and pretend I’m in the league lol, so I want it to be as realistic and detailed as possible. EA doesn’t care about that anymore though. It’s all about manipulating children into spending their parents money on card packs to get better, instead of just making an all around good game and inspiring people to want to play more to get better.
No matter how bad the gameplay is we need to support these people who are making this game. If it improves enough they could be a legitimate competitor to EA. We appreciate the honesty in your video for not "sucking them off" when in reality we all know its not a good game yet. We just need to keep supporting the people who are making this game
I wonder if there will be a community creations type feature on consoles where you can download custom rosters. I still can't believe that any of the Super Mega Baseball games don't have that feature.
Something I became aware of is that the online "servers" are not servers at all. A player has to be the host and acts as the server and other players connect to that player. This means means online play basically can't be fair. The host always has 0 ping, while the player connected does not, giving the host an advantage. It also means if the host has a bad PC and/or bad internet it will be terribly unsmooth as their pc struggles to run the server and play the game at the same time. Also opens up tons of issues in terms of potential hacking. I play sports game for the online aspect and I can't take it seriously given they're not using dedicated servers. It's very much a short cut on the devs part.
Since it's in early access, the P2P model they're using is the fastest way to set up some form of online multiplayer as dedicated servers cost money to maintain. I'd like to think most likely once the game is out of Early Access MPL will move to dedicated servers (where there's a level of authority not tied to either player) and the head to head online gameplay (which doesn't exist yet as of this comment) move to a P2P model which is a lot more suitable for that type of game mode
@@arielrivera1331 yeah that's exactly right it's the fastest way, hence my point of them taking shortcuts. A competitive sports game wont do well on listen servers or peer 2 peer.
3:50 you’ve just reminded me of how much fun me and my friends had while playing 3on3 freestyle, the gameplay wasn’t incredible but man it was so much fun
Let’s hope they can keep improving this game in the next couple of years, it has a good chance of competing with Madden in the future if the devs don’t give up.
I hope the guys with maximum team up with all pro 2K’s team one day. Because with maximums customization, the lighting, and the graphics, adding all pro to k’s gameplay to that would be insane. It would be the Premier football game on the market

@ while it’s obvious SDTV is using his platform to portray a message in every video especially to his new viewers, I bet it does bother him slightly and for someone who also grew up on 2k5, I understand. Speaking as a guy who could not give less of a shit about real NFL teams and just wants the customization and feeling of being a GM/Head Coach/Star Player (depending on my mood), this kind of game is exactly what I want.
The thing about Maximum Football is that it has a decent floor, a foundation. With a development team that listens to feedback and are committed to making a great football game, there’s a chance this game could be incredible one day.
Me who just wants something different and newer than my copy of 2k5 that isn't all broken to hell and back, also don't care about the online thing. Game will be on my radar! Also love supporting a smaller studio like this one, kind of the reason I started playing Beer League Hockey/Old Time Hockey
I have had a good amount of fun with this game but it definitely is pretty rough right now. I like where it's headed, but hopefully it won't take *too* long to reach a better standard. Outside of the obvious, like making passing consistent, and the gameplay flow a little bit more smoothly, I hope they also add things like a coach mode and actual clock management, and fix the buggy stats. My team went 13-0, won the championship after a 5 year rebuild, but my QB barely passed for 2000 yards and my best HB had 500 rushing yards.
Is it flawed? Yes. Only because it's in it's first iteration. I think this game will eventually surpass all Madden games in play-ability. It already surpassed them in mod ability alone. I have played a full season getting ready for off season and I definitely plan on getting the full version when available. Appreciate your honesty SDTV, I appreciate this channel!
If you have an Xbox and is interested in playing this game it was announced late yesterday (after this video was already edited) that it is coming to Xbox Game Preview December 10th
What if Maximum Football had a parody mode where the teams would be called something like the Los Angeles Lambs, Pittsuburg Forgers, Seattle Seagulls, Tampa Bay Maurauders, etc...?
I downloaded it last week but haven't touch it yet. It's good to know to stay away from online mode. Because I'm a 2K fan and went so many years w/o playing I'm in no rush. The college game got my juices flowing again but it's not on PC and I refuse to buy Madden. I played it earlier this year and it was okay it just felt a couple cans short of a six pack. I 'm not much of a stat guy so I may stay on the free version for now.
My main issue with football games is the AI of blocking and awareness of defensive backs against passes. If they can do that, along with some cool statistics for all-time/season highs/stat sheets for all players each season over a course of 20 years, it'll be better than Madden.
I have participated in every beta since they started doing them and the game has received very little substantial gameplay fixes in that timeframe. The problems you see now were problems that have been present since the beginning and unfortunately it is obvious that they just don't know how to fix them. While I would love for a football game to come along and compete or be better than Madden, this just isn't it. Unless they get a huge influx of cash and a bunch more experience staff, this game is doomed to never get to the point most people want it to get to.
Don’t look bad, can give hope for the UFL league to make a football game but from what I’m seen from the footage the movement and response and reaction is not quite on Madden’s or NFL 2k5 level. But I’ll have to play it for myself to find out.
