I love currys ❤ What a great idea, you did a great job spoiling your family for a nice little budget ❤ I am not a liar to say we all would love to come for dinner with the Greenos ❤
Ha ha, I don't put that much effort in every day Jessi ☺️ It was a tasty, meat free and healthy dinner though that's for sure. The Greenager missed her chicken tikka though!
Thanks pal. I was really pleased how the naans came out (even though it basically wrecked the pan in the process 😂)... Took a good deal of scrubbing to get it clean again!
South Asian style food is not my thing, so I cannot make much comment. Go to East Asia and cook a Chinese, Japanese or Thai curry and I will be your best friend forever. I love Thai Green Curry, but I think that would be impossible for under £1. Again, Greeno, thank you for highlighting food on a budget. This will help so many people.
@@davidjones6470I am off to watch Bournemouth v Man City tomorrow, not expecting to come away very happy! Probably similar to Wales v Ireland in the egg chasing tomorrow 😂
Thanks Gillian. It was really tasty and I didn’t miss having meat in it one bit. I think Indian flavours lend themselves well to vegetarian dishes anyway, better than in some other cuisines.
Had a little giggle at the Firm and Nutty chickpeas. You have made a nutritious meal there. Just cooking chicken pieces I have had in the fridge overnight in yoghurt and spices. They are going into a wrap with salad. The naan worked out quite well for you. Overall a very nice meal. 👍🥘
That’s Tesco’s description not mine 😀 Maybe someone having a cheeky little joke in their marketing department. The naan came out better than I expected to be honest ha ha! I like the sound of your dinner, I love chicken marinated in yoghurt, yum!
@@GreenoEats Hope your family liked the meal. It certainly looked great. My brother is vegetarian and has been for 30 plus years. He makes a great vegetable curry. He puts coconut milk in sometimes. So many options and like you say they don't have to be a side dish. 👍
Absolutely, I would have used coconut milk had the budget allowed... Trying to make meals under a pound a portion means compromise somewhere along the line. The Greenager ate it, but would have preferred a tikka masala. Little'un managed to get herself invited to her pal across the street for dinner instead, just to avoid eating the veg curry ha ha!!
@@GreenoEats At Home Bargains you can sometimes get three small cans of coconut milk for 99p. Worth having in your cupboard. Had to laugh at your children's reactions. 😂🤣

Nicely done, that actually looks like something I could actually make, and even though you created it without chicken, I could see adding a bit of chicken and a bit more curry and it'd work out great. Also, the ads on your videos for me are food related too. :)
Hey buddy, how are things? Adding chicken, pork, beef, even prawns would certainly work with this (I had to leave them out for budget reasons of course!). Glad the ads were actually appropriate to the channel too 😂

Potato onion and corned beef pie with homemade pastry using the cheapest kind of fat, with cheapest granule gravy and home cooked mushy peas. That should come in budget
I made a pea soup using a pack of dried peas, some onion and a pack of that cheap cooking bacon. I had no carrots unfortunately. After soaking peas as directed, I cut the fat off the bacon and shoved the lot in the pressure cooker for 15mins. The bacon just breaks up when cooked. There was about 6 servings. Just add a couple of slices of bread to dip in
@@GreenoEats cook it with the soup cos it usually is one or two big lumps. It comes out like pulled ham hock. Just break or cut it up into small chunks

Another bargain dinner! Less than a pound for curry, rice and a bread… would you eat this, or do you need the meat in your curry?
I really enjoyed this, the Greenager less so, but it isn’t chicken tikka masala😂

The curry would work well in the slow cooker I reckon.
Yeah could well do, although not for too long as it could all turn to mush
I'd sub the chickpeas for chopped peppers but apart from that I'd demolish that meal, the bread looked amazing as well, proper job mate!
Yeah, lots of tweaks that can be made for personal tastes. I’d have liked some spinach in it too, but then I would have gone over budget 🤣

Crying out for some yoghurt and coconut milk that curry.
Yeah, could have benefited from that for flavour, but that would have taken me over my £1 a portion budget!
