This is the first time ive had a diesel and let alone working on a car in the engine and your ranger videos are crazy on point. Thank you so much for saving me lots of money
Love your ending bloke ! I too give away so much info on my channel from years of both my fathers experience as well as my own.... and then it takes more effort and time to make, edit and publish helpful vids along the similar lines as yours... now I simply ask for beers ( via a paypal account ) and many do oblige, some very generously. keep up with the shared knowledge, it helps and is appreciated even when most won`t show gratitude. cheers ;-)
Thanx for informing... just replaced injector 2 + 3. After having all 4 tested by a Denso and Bosch certified diesel specialist, turned out no 2 + 3 piezo part failure. But knocking still remains...🤔 Tomorrow morning I will follow your instructions. Greetings from Ambon, Maluku Ranger XLT 2.2 T6/PX1 2013 engine rebuild 01-2024
@@RangerDanger720 little nightmare in the jungle... cyl3 seized within 500km after previous engine rebuild because of that same cylinder seizure. Rebuilding the engine at home by myself now with help of my mechanic and a diesel specialist. I want to do it myself because they couldn't diagnose the cause. So after learning how to measure I measured everything that needs to be measured. Result: all in spec perfectly except rod bearings a little on the high end of factory clearance. While empty measurements all perfectly in spec. Untill now nobody could explain the reason but all agreed clearence should be fine. A little unsatifying... But nevertheless I found 2 possible causes: 1. Injector piezo failure ( but no signs of damage on piston top. Only carbon spray pattern visible) 2. Oil squirter failure Of which most likely the latter. When installed at 1st rebuild they where checked as fully open by mechanic and confirmed as ok. Now I know the squirter should be closed at low rpm and opens under pressure by a valve. Found that out after I ordered a new set to eliminate possible failing parts as much as possible. Checked the old ones again and some were, open some closed. Playing around with compressed air their status changed in an inconsistent manner: stuck open and closed. Could squirter on cyl3 have been stuck closed while accelerating uphill? Thats when the engine seized. I felt the event in my left foot which was still on clutch pedal. Parked the car, diagnosed errors which weren't there, started the engine which went perfectly, drove off and hey, hey, hey, the old knocking sound returned... now 7 months later learning, investigating, measuring and spending 3500 dollars, I've reached the final stage of building up all parts to an engine. Should be ready by saturday...
Hi ! you make great informative videos which have been very helpful in the past. I recently replaced injector number 3 on my 2.2 Everest 160 BHP and it was coded, but the vehicle is making a rough sound when accelerating and is also shaking a bit when I rev it while it is idle, Do you have any idea why does this happen ? I was reading on the internet about Pilot learn procedure will that help ?
what was the reason for replacing the injector? sounds like it's probably a dirty intake manifold, is the egr still active & has the intake ever been cleaned?
@@abdautomotive My Everest has done 250,000 km so the guys at ford told me that one of the injectors have gone bad and need replacing. The EGR is still active, shall I get it deleted ? Also I'll get the intake manifold cleaned it has never been cleaned yet, I think that might be the issue. Thank you so much for the information🙏 It is really helpful !
Excelente video, tengo Ford Ranger 2017. Ya me repare una averia de ADblue, con el Forscan, realmente funciona el programa. Tenia algo de miedo,si algun dia tengo que programa algun injector, pero veo que es muy sencillo,la faena sera la parte mecanica, seguire tus videos.👌
Is it possible to temporarily override the control module to stop it from shutting the injector on a weak cylinder. Pretty sure I have a valve problem causing a low contribution situation. It shuts down cylinder one for 50 seconds and then restores power to the injector. I just found your channel and the content is great. Thank you!!!
Excellent!! i have done the what you mention on the programming of the injector but my car did not start. All i did was replacing the injector, the truck did not start. After the coding and before replacing the injector it was ok but just consume too much fuel. so i want to replace it. it show the cam sensor on the faulty but after replacing the sensor it is still the same fault. what can goes wrong?
You’ve hopefully solved this by now but I found my Camshaft sensor fault was linked to a loose crankshaft sensor - Mechanic who installed my reco engine didn’t use lock tight on the crankshaft position sensor and it was swinging off one end of the bracket. It would crank over but no start. M8 14mm bolt and you should be able to squeeze it in the gap and get it started without removing the gearbox 👌🏻 supergluing the bolt to your finger helps getting it started and not dropping it haha
Quick follow up question. Have you used Forscan to perform an injector re-learn ?? Injectors are noisy and have been suggested to run a relearn but never seen were this function is done thru Forscan ?? Any assistance/guidance would be appreciated. Thanks
I can't code an injector, because I don't see the diagram with the engine, I only see three numbers 4*, 5, 6, that's exactly how it appears and I can't write it!

the contribution must be way out of whack for it too do that, never heard of shutting down a cylinder

spray starting fluid down the intake & run it on the starting fluid for about 10 seconds, i suspect you have air in your fuel lines

Can you use a OBD2 scanner to do injectors coding???
Awesome buddy, your a legend
Awesome video 👍
Is coding essential when installing new injectors, issues if you drive without doing thx
good question
Hi do I need the paid version to code injectors?Or wil the 2 months trial version also work
What other things can you do on forscan like this?
quite a few things, remove seatbelt/lights chimes, check temps/boost etc,
Can you post a picture of the tool you are using please sir... And thank you
Sorry got it from your video 👆🏻
Simple👍
What is torque for injector hold down bolt
from memory 10nm plus 180 degrees
Thank u
Thanks mate
Can U do this on the free version or do U have to get the licence?
licence, it's $15 per year
Correction numbers are on top

could be a software glitch, i would reinstall Forscan
