    Great video. It's good that you calculated the ROI time. It shows that wind is not for everyone indeed.

      Thank you!! I forgot to mention one more important thing , that is income tax!! To purchase an item for $8440 , and if you are in the 30% tax bracket, you have to make $2500 more but even with 20%, that is close to $1700. Just because these numbers don’t show up on the invoice you still have to work for it and raise the funds so pay it end of the year!! In that case this return would be 700 years!! Thank you for watching!!

    Wow that's very disappointing. Seems like they weren't shooting straight with you. I appreciate your honesty, that will keep others from an expensive mistake. I agree solar is a much better investment and better return. Thanks for the excellent video and keep up the good work...... Jeff

      Thank you Jeff, I appreciate it. That is my goal to provide honest reviews to everyone! There are so many companies out there just want to sell merchandise without providing enough information. I plan to test more items out because some of those videos with 400X and 780x more energy from different wind turbines than solar doesn't make any sense to me unless I test one and compare. I'm working on an other great project you will see it soon! Thank you for watching!!

    3 years ago in Qld, Australia I installed a 10 KWh Solar PV system (grid tied) for $4,500, I have got around $500+ back from my energy supplier every year since. Go solar.

    • @offgridwithlaszlo
      @offgridwithlaszlo  6 місяців тому

      Unfortunately the energy suppliers are not that nice around here. The person I bought my panels from sold 1 million watts of energy every month to them and he cashed $500 but 3 years ago they paid him only $200 so he decided to to sell the panels.
      Thankbyou for watching!!

    "Misery Wind and Solar" is a perfect pronunciation for this company based on what I'm hearing and seeing. We bought a 4m turbine from china. Great product (so far), but we have the wind. That tower Misery sent you is a joke/toy. So sorry about your experience and thanks for sharing.

      After a of research I didn’t find anything else that would work for me. I agree the quality could be a little bit better but at the same time would be much harder to set it up by one person. Thank you for watching!!

    Have been wanting to add wind to our off-grid home set-up. Still haven't found one that fits our wants and needs. I've also looked at Missouri Wind company and they've never given me a good answer on a quiet turbine that can produce at least 500 watts in low wind.
    My reason for wanting at least 500 watts is because our house typically uses around 500-800 watts at night using 12-15% of the batteries. If I can off set that with wind power at night that should drop our battery loss to around 5% if the wind is blowing.

      I Understand. That was my plan as well. Driving an electric car I need an extra 25-20Kw/day. During the winter months, I’m loosing 4-5 hours sun / day, occasionally 5-9 day cloudy days make it even worse, and I thought I can make it up with wind.
      However meanwhile we can just set up more panels and/or just increase storage capacity. Thank you for watching!!!

    I am going to move to hungary and was convinced that wind power would help me out a lot. Then I read the specs of flower turbines, that is one of the few companies that show real data. And then I realized: you either need a high expensive HAWT, or you pay a lot for nothing. Flower turbines look cool though. So I will start on-grid, with solar panels and batteries until we see how the environment turns out.

      To be clear: on real windy days like last christmas, my energy prices were negative, only government taxes makes it positive.

    • @offgridwithlaszlo
      @offgridwithlaszlo  6 місяців тому

      Please just do those two things I missed, first , check the wind speed !! if you have at least 25m/h wind and you don’t go with an expensive tower, that can generate profit pretty soon. That would be close to 20Kw a day. The second the wind curve that shows how many watt can be harnessed so you can calculate everything before you buy the turbine. This turbine is a well built , good quality but it only manners if you have wind;)) The problem with grid , once you are on , you have less options in certain things, and if they turn the power off during certain weather conditions, they cause so much damage, that would cover a off grid system.

    i’m considering getting 2 primus air40s i live in alaska so my solar panels don’t see the sun for like 3 months of the year and i have ample wind in the winter. making any power in the winter is better than solely using a generator

    • @offgridwithlaszlo
      @offgridwithlaszlo  3 місяці тому

      I agree! I just bought more solar panels for winter. Around my area it seems that is generating much more energy and than wind. The ultimate girl is to not paying anything to anyone for any service!!

    Hey Laszlo, I wouldn't write it off just yet, I have an ista breeze wind turbine which looks like the same generator, it comes with 3 blades, I would try changing the blades, I must confess I'm not getting the manufacturers guarantee 700w, in 60mph 350w, 40mph 250, 20mph 150w, constant wind is a fickle thing, constant for 1 hour and then for 2 weeks. Go pro on the on tale of the turbine to see if you are above the trees !

    • @offgridwithlaszlo
      @offgridwithlaszlo  7 місяців тому +1

      Oh, The turbine does everything as it suppose to and advertised, at 20m/h wind 5-600W , 35m/h wind 1500w, 55m/h wind 2000W. Around the area the tallest building or tree is at 25’ and the turbine is at 45’. The problem is , don’t have more that 19M/h wind and mostly it is 8-9M/h. The blades are spinning all the time but due to low wind I harness 5-10 W. The system is perfect for locations with 25-50m/h. If the wind speed is right around you , I recommend the system 100%. I received the wind speed curve after I already commissioned the unit and I was not be aware of that I need 35m/h wind to harness 1500w/h. From the views I saw there is a lot of interest for wind energy, however everything starts to check wind speed first. I just don’t want anybody to invest money that is not going to return in life time. It is a fun project, and harness some energy but not as much as expected, and there are other ways to harness energy that is profitable after a few years. Thank you for watching!!

      Ah! oh! write! Sorry I must have missed something on the video, I did Watch it when it first got posted, so you have low constant wind and it is high enough, in that case more bigger blades and you could try looking in to gearing it like a bicycle even with the gear changer !, then that would give you the rpm to the generator

    • @offgridwithlaszlo
      @offgridwithlaszlo  7 місяців тому

      Yes, I agree on this. I had multiple emails with the company and I suggested to them to send me longer blades or different ones, but I didn’t receive any reply from them. With todays technology I believe that wind energy can be profitable to home owners if they harness 1500w at low speed wind , and millions of locations have the same situation like mine. As I wire this message , the wind picked up and I’ve seen 1220w for a few seconds but I’m sure the next week or so I won’t see anything like this. The way I see the wind turbine this location like properties, location, location, location. Good location house market is expensive, and in certain location much cheaper, alway worth something but not good enough for investment.

    *All practical tests show that small wind turbines hardly generate any electricity! Here approx 170 kWh/year from a 8400 USD wind turbine!*
    Because there is hardly any wind close to the ground. It is also extremely gusty, which usually shortens the service life.
    Only if you need to be self-sufficient from the power grid, you should buy a small wind turbine for the winter.
    *With solar modules, on the other hand, you can reliably generate green electricity for 25 years at approx. 3-10 cent/kWh!*

    • @offgridwithlaszlo
      @offgridwithlaszlo  6 місяців тому

      Yes, I agree. I realized that, too. I live off grid. The roofing project was on hold for a few times due to windy weather conditions, and seemed to be a good idea to buy one, however the outcome didn’t turn out as good as expected. I’m going to set up more solar panels soon ,
      Thank you for watching!!

    That's an expensive mistake, can't you return it?

    • @offgridwithlaszlo
      @offgridwithlaszlo  6 місяців тому +1

      I don’t know ,I didn’t ask. However I want to use the tower and the charge controller to test different wind turbines if I find one that works well with low wind speed. Also since I already have it, I will see what happens in a year!! Maybe both the weather and the turbine are going to surprise me , and you will know about it as well!! Thank you for watching!!

      When it comes with freight it is more expensive to return and complicated. Review this set after 6 months and a year will give me a better idea , information to see if this investment worth it or not.

      Well in a perfect world if I would receive the wind speed curve before purchase , with simple math I could calculate, and make a decision based on that. That is the reason for the video, I made a mistake due to miscommunication , and missing information , so help my viewers not to do that. Thank you for watching!!
