  • So you have started charting, or have been for a while. But now you have come to the conclusion that you ovulate late or have anovulatory cycles.
In this video I cover the 5 most common hormonal reasons + 1 non hormonal for late ovulation or not ovulating at all. To know exactly what is going on, and knowing why you have irregular periods, interpreting your chart is very important, together with other symptoms you may have. However, this video will definitely give you a clue as to what may be going on for you and why you are ovulating late in your cycle.

      @dianaadziovski1655 3 роки тому

@@wendybrown2189 hi, the tests indicate when you're about to ovulate. When the test line is darker than the control line, that's the strongest surge detected, which means ovulation will happen 12-24 hrs after. LH is the hormone that releases the egg for ovulation so using OPK's, tells you when you're about to ovulate.Hope this helps?

For anyone wondering about the real power of being too stressed and fertility issues, I’ve been trying for 15 months and have been a bit stessed at work. I’m a naturally anxious person anyway. As soon as lockdown started, I calmed, my acne boils started the clear and I got a positive. It was an early loss but it was the first time I’ve seen a line all this time so do everything you can to chill, I promise it’s so powerful

The ovaries may not release an egg during a particular month because there’s an inadequate level of certain hormones or due to an underlying medical condition. A lack of ovulation is called anovulation. Anovulatory cycles do not always mean that you’re approaching menopause. Occasional anovulation may also be found in young women in their 20s.
Sometimes there are no signs you haven’t ovulated - or symptoms may be misleading (e.g. heavy bleeding due to progesterone insufficiency, a common symptom of anovulation).
However, warning signs indicating an ovulatory problem may include:
    Irregular or absent menstrual cycles
    Shorter (35 days)
Extremely light spotting or abnormal blood flow
A drop and subsequent rise in body temperature around day 10-16 of your cycle
    Additional anovulation symptoms could be:
    Lack of fertile cervical mucus
    Low levels of progesterone
    Unreceptive uterus
Sometimes, there may be a rise in your luteinizing hormone (LH), a hormone that stimulates the release of a mature egg from the ovary at ovulation, but ovulation may still not occur.
If you notice any changes in your cycle or you experience any of the above-mentioned symptoms, talk to a gynaecologist or fertility doctor. They will arrange a few diagnostic tests to get a clear picture of your medical situation. These may include:
Hormone blood test (progesterone, prolactin, luteinizing hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, oestradiol, anti-mullerian hormone)
    Antibodies blood test
    Ultrasound test
Treatments for anovulatory cycles may include:
Ovulation induction using fertility drugs, like:
    Clomiphene citrate
    Letrozole
    Gonadotropins
    Metformin
Other medicines may also be used to normalise certain hormones.
Surgery to correct certain conditions or obstructions of the reproductive system, such as:
    Ovarian drilling (PCOS)
    Bariatric surgery (severe obesity)
    IVF
If the above treatments are not effective, the euroCARE IVF specialist will recommend an assisted reproductive procedure like in-vitro fertilisation (IVF). This treatment allows you to fertilise your (or your donor’s) eggs outside the body, thus completely eliminates the need for ovulation.
Late ovulation is when your ovary releases an egg after day 21 of your menstrual cycle. If you have a 28-day cycle, you will likely ovulate 14 days after the first day of your last period, although the timing can vary.
If your cycles last 35 days or longer, you probably ovulate at day 21 or later. Most women who have longer cycles also have irregular cycles, and they also may not ovulate at every cycle. Some people with late ovulation may have heavy bleeding during their period.
Late ovulation can occur in almost any woman occasionally. Infrequent late ovulation is not typically a cause for concern. However, you should see a doctor if:
Your cycles are shorter than 21 days apart or longer than 35 days apart
Your period stops for 90 days or more
    Your periods suddenly become irregular
You have heavy bleeding (you’re soaking through a tampon or pad every hour or so, for several hours)
You have severe or abnormal pain during your period
You’re unable to conceive after some time
If you have an underlying condition like PCOS or hypothyroidism, treating it can help regulate ovulation. If no cause can be determined and you want to become pregnant, your doctor may prescribe medications that help regulate ovulation. They may include:
    Clomiphene
    Letrozole
    Human chorionic gonadotropins
Additional tips to improve your menstrual and reproductive health include:
    Eating a healthy, balanced diet
    Getting regular exercise (in moderation!)
Reducing stress (e.g. acupuncture, yoga, meditation)
    Quitting smoking
    Avoiding alcohol

Hi Fleur! I'm so glad you posted this video. I need to start temping - I've only been doing the LH tests. When I was super stressed, I'd get my surges really early - around day 10! After managing my stress, I averaged day 15/16 for the surge, but now I'm getting the surge as late as day 18! Over the past year, I've noticed quite a range - earliest happened on day 13, latest on day 19! The earliest surges happened when me and my husband went on vacation, and then when I was on an antibiotic for a sinus infection - maybe I ovulated at a normal time both instances because I was more relaxed/being treated for sickness and getting better?! I do struggle with anxiety and grief although I'm getting help and trying to improve in managing better despite it all. Is the huge variance in ovulating (if I am, I will start temping to confirm) indicative of a hormonal problem or probably just stress? My period comes about every 30 days. I'm very curious to see if my temperatures correlate with the surges! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!!

Another fab video! 👍 I'm getting really confused with charting. Fertility friend has told me I've ovulated on day 8 this month, even though last month (my 1st month) it told me day 14. So I'm feeling very disappointed this month. I tend to wake up between 4-5am to nip to the loo, and my wake up time is 7am. Sometimes I go back to sleep straight away, sometimes not. I've been taking temps at both times but they're very different. Eg this morning 36.22 at 04:40 and 36.61 at 07:00. So this could really change my chart depending on what temp I put down. Its cycle 13 for me now. What happens with people waking up during the night when it's not a guaranteed wake up time? As I know you're meant to have at least 3 hours before temping. Hope you're enjoying maternity leave x

Hi Ingefleur, thank you for these incredibly helpful and concise videos. Can you please make a video on what "optimal" levels of certain important hormones are for pregnancy? Unfortunately, the standard range is incredibly broad for many hormones like TSH, prolactin, insulin, progesterone, estrogen, etc. and it is hard work with doctors who simply don't pay attention unless your levels are completely off the charts. Thank you so much!

According to my charting apps (Ovia and Fertility Friend), i normally ovulate around CD 11 and 12. My period usually occurs around CD 24 or 25. Is this happening because I'm older (I'm 43 years old)? I also have been diagnosed with uterine fibroids and am trying to shrink them naturally using food, herbs, and supplements. This month, I also started checking my CM, and have gotten no EWCM. Is there something else that I can do? Can you also discuss early ovulation? Thanks!

After more than a year of tracking my periods, seeking medical advice, having hormone tests done and properly starting to chart my temperature, I've noticed a pattern that I only ovulate every second month. My temps, tests and anecdotal notes point to an issue with my left ovary or fallopian tube (pain in the left ovary region, intermittent bleeding etc.)
I was wondering if you've done a video on blocked fallopian tubes? Or, if you could explain some of the alternative or natural options available prior to seeking more invasive/investigative medical treatments?
Thanks for sharing your fertility knowledge!

Hi First off I want to say thank you. I subscribed to your channel because i found you videos very helpful and very well educated on what i think may be your profession, well to jump right in I am Mera and I was diagnosed with sickle cell as an infant, i recently went through chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant to cure me of my sickle cell anemia, about 5 almost 6 years go lets say in 2015, and idk if this is outside of your profession or no offence knowledge in this area but since i had that traumatic experience take a toll on my body , i was informed that i had no eggs and i also was not able to have a menstrual cycle on my own without birth controlon and off for 4 years straight, I believe in the beginning of 2019 is when my periods started to try and re-regulate itself every month not to mention i had stopped the birth control 5 months before my periods started to kick in on its own, and i don't know but sometimes my cycles last 5 days to 6, before my transplant my period only lasted for 3-4 days max, and for the past year I've been TTC with no luck, I have seen some of your videos and not sure if those are my issues, but I have also seen that you shared ways to help your egg count, but my question to you is if you are having cycles regularly does that mean you may still be maturing or producing eggs, maybe the sonogram wasn't 100% accurate and there may still be eggs hanging on inside my ovaries? Thank You in advance.

I think I usually ovulate around day 14, based on opks, and I usually start getting an estrogen surge around day 8 but this cycle I'm on day 13 and still no indication on the opk that ovulation is coming. I changed my diet about a month ago and have lost a little weight (2-3kg) and wonder if that might have something to do with it?
I have only charted a few times but I have fairly regular cycles. I also bf a toddler but I know I have been ovulating prior to this cycle, so I don't think prolactin is the reason?

I have high AMH but don't have PCO/S. I'm told my progesterone levels are great. I used to have A LOT of egg white CM. About 4 months ago I had a weird period (spotting leading up and then very heavy with lots of blood clots), since then my CM has dwindled to the point I've had no egg white discharge at all the past two months (quite dry) and have started ovulating later in my cycle. I've been told I have a heavy overgrowth of Candida (although I believe I've had this for years) that I'm now trying to heal from (would love a video on this). Could this be the cause of lack of CM and late ovulation?

    • @alhumairaR

@Hasslee Nunes i asked a gynae and the respon was it is not necessarily for everybody to have that mucus to show that you are ovulating. It can be other signs as well. Use OPK to know better when you are approaching ovulation and later after a week see a doctor to test your blood to know whether or not you ovulated based on the progesterone level in the blood. Hope this would help you:)

I’ve been charting the last two months since my miscarriage in March, and I’m noticing that while I do get a high temp spike indicating ovulation, my temps don’t stay high. they just start stair stepping down and they fall, and my luteal phase is only 10 days. I work nights (I was the one you answered in your video about working night shift!) so I’m sure my hormones are all out of balance :( I also suspect high prolactin because I never dried up, even though I haven’t nursed my son in over a year. I get insomnia at 3-4am, am very angry and irritable, no libido at all, and hardly any egg white CM. It’s a mess 😫

Hi Fleur, I just discovered your videos and really appreciate what simplicity you can bring to such complicated hormonal issues. I have heard you mention that our anterior pituitary gland can be "imbalanced." I stopped my birth control 1.5 years ago after 12 years of use. 1. Could this still cause an imbalance? 2. What measures can I take to improve this?
    Thank you,

    Dear Fertility Homeopath,
I will be 42 in a couple of months, and I would really love to have another child. I am nursing my 10 month old, and my full cycle has never come back until my baby is at least 20 months old, and then it takes a little time to conceive (that would put me at having a baby at 44 or so). I know my time is running out here because of my age. I don't have the heart to wean my child in order to conceive, since I want to give my baby all she needs. Would taking Vitex help suppress prolactin and enable my cycle to come back a little earlier, even when I am nursing, perhaps? Any other advice for how to help my cycle return? Thank you so much for your videos! I love the cross you wear on your neck! Also, my Dad and Mom are Dutch and my dad immigrated from the Netherlands. Thank you for your positive attitude~ Dag!

Absolutely! Because our hormone system is 1 system and 1 block that's off will have an effect on the rest. Although high testosterone typically goes with the PCOS or hyperthyroidism while the rest could all be part of hypothyroidism, adrenal fatigue or synthetic hormone use.

So I was on Metronidazole for a week and things seemed to clear... this was 2 months ago, so I thought great! Now I can get back to my normal 33 day cycles! But nope! My cycles are still long and I don’t know what’s wrong.... I heard that after having bv, it can take a few months for your body to get back to normal.... is this true? As far as my doctor is concerned, everything looks quite normal as far as hormones and fertility concerns..... I just want to have a normal cycle so that my husband and I can conceive.... I feel defeated because I keep thinking that I’m the cause of our infertility 😟

Thank you Fleur for another informative video. You talk about low FSH how about low LH and stopping you from ovulating is that even a thing? I generally ovulate early around 11-13. However, since I’ve been TTC the past year I’ve noticed I’m getting more off cycles where my chart looks anovulatory. I’m 33 so not that old but do have low AMH of 5.11pmol. My question is this on the cycles i don’t seem to ovulate I get suboptimal LH surges, it’s like the double lines come quick and go quick a fast surge and never actually get that blazing line you would expect to see. I get all other good signs of ovulation my temp dips, ECWM it seems like I get suboptimal surges is there any further testing I could
Ask my doctor about re Suboptimal LH Surges causing anovulation please? It would be so helpful to get a better idea as my doctor is starting me on clomid next month. I’m happy to be starting medication but I see it as treating the problem and not the root cause as why I’m not ovulating. Apart from low AMH all my work ups have been normal.

I’ve never been on any type of medical drugs nor even birth control after I turned 17 years old. I always believe that it’s important to be natural and eat healthy food and not allow medication control your health system. - My period started late when I was 14 years old (close to 15) And when I turned 16 I missed my period for the whole year (12 months) my mom took me to a doctor and they told me I needed to loose weight and be on birth control. I successfully lost a lot of weight by exercising and eating healthy but months later on I realised that birth control was increasing my weight again so fast so I stopped taking it and my weight went back to normal. The problem is I always had irregular period, they are heavy and last 5 or sometimes 7 to 9 days. But I still refused to be in birth control and it was causing me a lot of stress. Since a very young age I knew I would probably have to deal and face infertility st some point in my life (it was my worse nightmare) i guess it’s just in my DNA, no matter how hard I try to be healthy or be on BC... My family members can easily conceive without extra work, even my younger sister who is overweight could get pregnant in a matter of few months after she got married... today I am 31, married and struggling with infertility (my worse nightmare came truth as I knew when I was a teenager). There are things in life that you can’t always control. I’ve been diagnosed with Periodontal diseases in my early 20s and also doctor found 2 small Fibroids in my uterus but she said it’s harmless. The problem now is I don’t ovulate every month and my period is very irregular. What is causing it’s unknown but I guess my husband and I will keep trying to have a baby in the natural way and way for the miracle baby to come some day. I am also a believer, and I think that not every person in this world is called to be a mother. I just wish I didn’t have this strong desire 😞

I read ur full comment and it caused me pain. Could u try this?
      ● Morning sunlight for 30 mins daily.
      ● Grind raw beetroot, carrot, cucumber in a mixer. Drink it with the pulp for fiber. Squeeze a lemon for added natural vitamin C. Drink daily.
      ● Stop stressing.
      ● Soak a variety of nuts ( include black sesame seeds ) in salt water overnight (to remove phytic acid which blocks the absorption of nutrients). Peel their skins n eat them the next day.
      ● Roast fenugreek seeds. Powder it and store. Soak separately a tsp of this powder overnight. Drain that water the next morning (to remove phytic acid). Add new water and drink it on an empty stomach first thing in the morning. Then go to prepare breakfast.
      ● Exercise but not too much.
      ● Avoid processed food. Eat whole foods.
      ● Daily consume 2 tsp of roasted flaxseed powder for that much needed omega 3. To make it more palatable, powder it along with raw garlic, cumin, rock salt, salt n pepper.
      Try it.
