    What an informative video! My husband and I just started conceiving this month and we also started reading fertility books such as Expecting Better and Mayo Clinic Guideline. I have relied on evidence-based research to clear my mind - I am an overthinker! This video definitely reassures what I know about ovulating and it is so helpful!

    I've been on birth Control since I was 13. I just recently stopped this year. I stopped at 32. I just turned 33. I am concerned my period is irregular and a long long time ago it was heavy. It's always been light or spotting. I wish I was more normal. 😢 My period the last 3 months have been on completely different days of the weeks. The 14th, 19th, and now the 8th. Kind of frustrating to figure out when I am ovulating. Just expressing what I am going through. Trying to educate myself more about this. I am working on getting my body back to it's self. The app Flo has helped. I appreciate finding your video, and curious how this all works.

    I know this is an old video, but I had a question. I track my bbt and also take at-home ovulation tests. I had a rise in my basal body temperature on the same day as a positive ovulation test. I'm not sure which one is more reliable or how to tell if I've ovulated or not. My temp was high the next day but went down on the third day. Fourth and fifth day temp was high again, which is when my tracking app said I was supposed to ovulate. Not sure what to think or if you can help!!

    Just found your page and am loving all the content! To support more fertility research I was wondering if there is a way to find out if there are any studies going on one could become a part of?
    I was also wondering if you could make a video about what the data says for how long it takes people to get pregnant after they start trying (for people with no fertility issues and then for those with different fertility issues)

    I always feel the pain in my right ovary, and never knew why! When I found out I was pregnant (unexpectedly miscarried) last year I told her about the pain in my right side, so I assumed I ovulated from the right. My OB told me that I had actually ovulated from my left side. Is that a common thing to happen?

      Sometimes you have to gently reach in there a little bit to get a sample of your cm if you don't see it on the tissue. Also it could have something to do with your partner's sperm and nothing to do with you! Is he overweight, does he smoke nicotine or green stuff, does he drink, eat a lot of fast food, work around chemicals? I know it's overwhelming but all of these things can affect sperm so getting him on board to be healthy could optimize your chances! Any update? 🤍

    Late to the party here, sorry! A video on getting pregnant with one fallopian tube would be amazing. I lost my right tube due to an ectopic and was counseled after surgery that I still have the same chances of achieving pregnancy as a woman with 2 tubes and that the body compensates. My question lies in the data. I notice the statistics change from about 90% of healthy women (with 2 tubes) will achieve pregnancy within the first year to about 85% of women with a healthy remaining tube will achieve pregnancy within 2 years… if I still have the same chances, why the drastic change?

But even though I lost the baby at least now I know I can still get pregnant I just pray it doesn't take another five years

    I had every one of these symptoms. Including light pink spotting right before the days that should've been my ovulation. I also went from having energy to being tired the days after what should have been my ovulation and normal periods albeit I did have a little very light spotting this month 5 days before my period for 3 days. Once each day and it was very light. I thought it was implantation spotting. Regardless of having a mostly normal cycle. I tested for the first time and never got a peak line that was as dark as the test line so I'm baffled. I didn't test twice everyday and maybe I missed it idk. My BBT also went up after what should've been my ovulation day but I'm discouraged about the test results.

    How do people with PCOS get false positives if they are not really ovulating? Will the test tell them they are ovulating when they are really not and then it will be negative? What if you are only ever getting negative tests for 30+ days?

      ovulation tests don't confirm ovulation. They do let you know that the luteinising hormone has surged and this is the time (especially when you see egg-white mucus) to be having intercourse as you are likely to ovulate soon once you see those two fertility signs, hope this helps

    I have always been able to feel which side I was ovulating on before. Its literally a pain on that side some probably think of them as period pains before or after the period comes. I use to tell people this and they thought I was crazy. Now that I was on BC for 10 years I have no idea what is going on with my body anymore lol that is what I am trying to figure out by all these different videos.

Is there any possible way that I can produce eggs naturally without taking medicine? Thanks, if you will notice my message.

    Just wondering what impact getting up in the night for small children or otherwise interrupted sleep has on BBT?

      You’re right. Disrupted sleep and shift work can alter BBT results but not for everyone - try testing for 2-3 cycles and see if you’re seeing a pattern and signs of ovulation. Thank you for watching!

    I Just started tracking my ovulation this month using OPKs but I think I missed it? I started testing when my app said I was fertile 4 days after my period ended, but all the tests were negitive during it.. my periods are fairly regular.. I always have a period every 26 to 31 days.. usually in day 28 or 29. Hoping to catch it next month but starting to test right after my period has ended. 🤞

    Thank you for this amazing video! My husband and I have been trying since April. I have irregular (painless) periods but I have had Normal 25-28 day cycle the past 3 months. I have been taking pregmate OPKs for 2 months twice/day with concentrated urine. Every. Single. Day. They have been negative. There is always a faint line. I just bought pricier clear blue smiley tests to try. My past ultrasounds have been normal(besides slight bicornuate uterus)

    • @drlorashahine
      @drlorashahine  8 місяців тому

      I am so sorry - no easy fix. Surgery to unblock tubes doesn’t always work but allows a chance of pregnancy each cycle. IVF helps people with blocked tubes conceive but there is a low chance of success with a low AMH at age 45❤️❤️❤️

For further info, my partner and I have started trying so after stopping the pill on the 4th, I got my period on the 8th which lasted 6 days and I'm struggling to figure out when I'm supposed to ovulated and honestly, I'm very eager to get pregnant so I am trying to understand more about my body because although I'm 28 years old, I am still very unsure of my body and how it works 😅.

    Hi love this video but I need it in laymans terms 😂 So should a woman wait for her period and when its done, do the test strips (not needed but good to use), the fertile window would be sometime between her last period day to a couple days after? Lets say shes 28 days for her cycle, would she be ovulating after her period is done on like the 7th or 8th day?

    • @drlorashahine
      @drlorashahine  2 місяці тому

      Most likely ovulating around day 14-15 for the 28 day cycle so starting to test cycle day 10 should catch the surge of LH signaling ovulation the next day. Thank you for watching!
