Pressure Washing 101: Post treating concrete after surface cleaning

- Why do we post treat concrete with (SH) Sodium Hypochlorite? Hard to remove organic growth can be stubborn, you don’t want to hammer down with high pressure and etch the concrete. We apply 2% to 3% solution to safely remove organic growth that is deep rooted into the concrete pores. We don’t rinse, just let it sit until it dries. Notify client about taking extra precautions when stepping in and out of the house.

I'm having trouble with calculating mixes. for example, what is 4% mix in a 1 gallon bucket of water?
Do you apply straight 2% from softwash or mix water in through your proportioner as well to make it a 2%?
Thanks for the video. Wouldn't it be a good idea to rinse it off though? My fear is always someone will come by walking their dog or just some random animal will get into it and then die on the customer's property. How do you deal with stuff like that? Especially if people are walking their pets by while you're applying chemicalsl? In my area, there is a lot of that and I feel like I'd have to put some cones up to keep them away until I diluted the SH enough
What do you use for post treatment
Great video, what do you have to talk to the clients about post-treating? Eg. Is it unsafe to walk barefoot with post-treatment on the concrete? Thanks!
Thx for vid. I had a question for you. I have a hot water pressure trailer and plan on going the no chemical route. Watching videos on how to remove lines say you want to clean vertically then going horizontally (if you're not using chemicals). My question for you is If I clean a driveway vertically can i move faster when im going horizontally or do i need to go same speed. Asking to try and save time as im essentially cleaning same area twice. Thank you!
Go in circular motion as you walk, this will help save you some time
Do you use the same mix as the pre treatment for the post treatment
If it’s thick, I go strong %, then dial it down
But how do you apply it? My washer says no bleach in the machine?\
I have a dedicated gas pump system that can apply the bleach thru my proportioner.
I use a soft wash system that goes thru a proportioner or a chemical Injector downstreaming pass the pump.
Do you use surfactant for post treatment or no?
Does concrete has to be dry or went to post treat?
After you surface clean, you can apply afterwards.
Dry works 100x better. If it gets it dilutes the chemicals.
