Gosh, listen to that cute beeping. :D
These are such wonderful birds.
The Ruffed Grouse is Pennsylvania's state bird. I grew up there and have never ever seen one. Awesome!
Looks like they're only eating the corn and peanuts..... but if those sunflowers were shelled they'd be eaten in no time.
#spiritanimal so graceful lol
Well it depends on where you live and it might happen a lot when you're aren't looking because grouse are very skittish.
I live in Rural Maine and have had Ruffed Grouse at my feeder. They are VERY skiddish. Also see them on road side eating up the sand and salt. One time one flew right into my winsheild and feathers exploded. I I felt bad as it was killed.
Very beautiful pair! I have never seen any grouse in our neck of the woods. I am in Central Ky!
Kathi Clayton they are plentiful in western NC and all throughout W V and some in eastern Tennessee. The average weight is 25 ounces and they reach as Far East as wilkesboro and south in to Georgia and South Carolina barely,,, a mountainous spring head is there most common hang out but they like cut overs and creek drainages also
How nice to be able to see these birds. They are soo pretty. I doubt that I would see these in FL.
What are the chances of this? :O
I love hearing them!
I live in Manitoba and hunt ruffed grouse.
One day on the road where I hunt; I encountered a couple of middle-aged fellows who said they were hunting grouse.
They had come all the way from South Carolina!
Do you eat them? How do they taste?
There are grouse in South Carolina and plenty in North Carolina but where they are is rock cliffs and laurel thickets almost impossible to get to but I have managed to kill around 400 in my life time all in NC,, they taste much better than chicken and the breast is white as snow.
Great audio along with the video.
Love me some bush chickens!
Forest chickens is what I call em... but yeah...
D.
I love hunting these birds they are very good to eat
I have a ruffed grouse sleeping in one of our crab apple trees XD
