Thanks! Before I set it I was considering :15/1 and :60/1, but eventually settled on :30/1 because I liked the idea of a video under three minutes. The building in the foreground on the right is a new condo complex. I've watched this video so many times, but each time I catch something new. Thanks for the comment.
The night looks pretty imagine walking in the street on a peaceful winter night no cars just the snow falling slowly and the beautiful lights guiding your way
yeaaa uhmm that does not happen here in boston its more like trying to walk through 20 mph winds blowing snow in your face from every which direction when the temps feel like -20 f every single goddamn night of winter FUCK A FAIRY TALE iT SUCKS ... p.s. sorry to burst your bubble...
WOW! Amazing! The Go Pro must be pretty cool. Wish I had one of those bad boys! Its snowing here, in Texarkana, AR. Think we are supposed to get like 3 inches. Its snowing like a foot is coming. LOL!
Here in Athens Greece we see snow almost every year but it doesnt covers the ground, except from 2002-2004-2008 which were the best years in history and we had 20cm near the sea.
Cool, thats a lot of snow! i live in the philippines and all we experience is hot summer all year round. hope i get to experience winter like that. nice vid btw.
I love to come back to the video and rewatch it from time to time, as living in the south, we don't see snow quite like this hardly ever (with this past January being a major exception), but I have to ask: what exactly are those round steering wheel looking things? I've never been able to figure that out.
I used to live in SoCal, 5600 Hundred block of Sunset Blvd (Across from Echo Park). Anyway, I now live in the BEAUTIFUL state of Virginia (Virginia Beach). I don't miss SoCal at all. We have ALL four seasons here…not just one :)
For the record, we didn't get 30 inches of snow. Your setup is likely in a place where a snowdrift formed. I live in Quincy and there were places where I could still see bare concrete after the snow stopped. With the constant high winds, it's very difficult to determine exactly how much snow we got.
carcillian snow is the best thing i have ever seen form the weather. You are saying that because you can see it every year, but in Greece when it is snowing everybody become crazy
This makes me jealous, I live in England and the best we ever get is five or six centimeters of snow which probably only stays for a day until it melts
Your 6cm of snow makes me jealous. I do not enjoy being stuck outside, in 0 degree weather, shoveling incredibly heavy snow for hours. :( Now, if the snow would kindly not fall on the driveways and streets, then it would be amazing. But sadly the snow is rude.
i don't live in the boston area, but i do live where it snows (michigan). trust me,you wouldn't enjoy it. i feel for the people being hit by this now;it's got to be terrible. hope you get some relief soon; it looks like you've been through pure hell.
Well, I live in Brazil and it rarely snows a little in some few areas. Even though, I do not envy these people in Boston, because I lived in Baltimore for an exchange program in February 2010 and it snowed like hell. It made things so difficult, I couldn't leave home, I couldn't walk on sidewalks, every inche of floor was slippery and I nearly broke my ass. I am pretty much comfortable living in a tropical land. The snow is beautiful and fun to play with, but only as a tourist :)
I took the waterproof case off and then the door that hides the SD card and mini USB jack. Then plugged a mini USB into GoPro and the wall. Even if the building lost power (which was a real possibility) the GoPro battery would have served as backup for a little while. Thanks for watching.
In the summer time put solar panels on the roof of every one of these buildings. In the winter time when when snow falls put heated panels on the roof to melt the snow into drinking water.
Darren Langdon I very briefly considered using a space heater to keep the glass from icing over. Once before I did a time lapse and most of it was frozen over with ice. I decided to scrap the unattended space heater idea. Maybe next time I will treat the outside glass with RainX. I wonder if that would make a difference.
I guess it would depend on the outside temperature. If it's too cold out the water might freeze before the RainX can do its thing. Worth a try though. I think that's what I'll do the next time.
I like snow and I don't like it! I like it because you get to have fun and play in it and also days off but every day off you make up a day of school which means more scgool but I don't like it because it's a mess to the road and a pain to clean up and messes everyone going to work up and all of the ice too so I do and don't like snow
I'm probably gona live in Boston forever... favorite place in the world
Nice video, big friendly hug for including centimeters.
That's wonderful well done to you for filming it.
Boston is the perfect place to live, cold and snowy winters, rainy springs, hot and humid summers and cool fresh falls..
I live 1 hr north of Boston... it was quite the winter lol!!! Good thing I'm a snow lover, but if i wasn't I can't imagine
Literally the best snowlapse vid ever. You should do more.
That's amazing!! It just keeps coming and coming and coming...... Hang in there and think of Spring in 2 months!!!
And we broke 100k! Thanks for watching, everyone!
Is it fun having snow?I would love it
I skied the day after that blizzard and let me tell you, that was the one day that the East was better than the West. My CO friends were JELOUS!
+Daniel Izz yeah but it gets really cold buy its fun #snow :)
Nick Barbar. Where stands the letter "k" for?
@@wimnoe9486 100kmeans 100 thousand :))
Beautiful Timelapse
Nicely done! :30/1 was a great choice, and the building lights in the background keep it interesting throughout. (also good ambient music)

Great job Nick!
Thanks, Rob!!

Cool! You have so many snow!
thanks! i know! it doesn't seem to stop!
It was crazy
In 1988, Eielson AFB Alaska recieved 102" of snow in 72 hours. I had fun but base ops was pulling their hair out trying to keep the runway open.
Here in Athens Greece we see snow almost every year but it doesnt covers the ground, except from 2002-2004-2008 which were the best years in history and we had 20cm near the sea.
Very cool video it's scary but beautiful. I hope you peeps in boston stay safe an warm. From a Michigander

love the music :)
Just sitting here is So Cal in my shorts, and tee shirt. Enjoying the 80 degree weather. lol

Awesome video!
thank you!
Applaud this project! Stars of the Lid on the soundtrack?
Stunning
I love this!

I'm bout to get a blizzard! Hope I get that much. ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
You live on the east coast? I live in Florida and heading up there tomorrow night!
This is awesome.
My wife and I just moved away from Dedham. We are not missing this shit at all.
carcillian snow is the best thing i have ever seen form the weather. You are saying that because you can see it every year, but in Greece when it is snowing everybody become crazy
+PhilipK. 21 When it snows here in England everyone goes crazy too, the roads are closed and shops close. Usually around December.
Philip K I wish you Greeks didn't get snow, lucky bastards. we only get a small amount.
same in Belgium ! we only get stupid rain every winter day
I remember this year. We had like 5 blizzards in a month.
I pray it's snow where I'm from this year :D Favourite weather condition
it literally just started snowing here and im hoping for a lot
This makes me jealous, I live in England and the best we ever get is five or six centimeters of snow which probably only stays for a day until it melts
Come visit!
Your 6cm of snow makes me jealous.

Ahh, I see what you mean. Still :)

Awesome work with snow timelapse. How did you power the camera for 40-hrs?
I took the waterproof case off and then the door that hides the SD card and mini USB jack. Then plugged a mini USB into GoPro and the wall. Even if the building lost power (which was a real possibility) the GoPro battery would have served as backup for a little while. Thanks for watching.
in Michigan, the snow doesn't reach this height, however, we have extremely cold temperatures.
pure poetry
This is only a average snowfall in northern Canada. We get that much in 24hrs, you just have to learn to adapt. Cheers
May WeatherNationTV and its affiliates have permission to broadcast with credit to you? Thank you.
i wonder how many degrees celcius i can feel there 😤 ewww so cooolll
God I love this city
Can we see the same site during the melt?
In the summer time put solar panels on the roof of every one of these buildings. In the winter time when when snow falls put heated panels on the roof to melt the snow into drinking water.
i live right near boston. there is now 6-7 feet of snow it keeps snowing!
that's got to be terrible; hope you can get a break soon; i can see you've all been through a very tough time.
Love the wintah best season!
AWESOME !!!!
rooftop across from the lenox?
must be very fun to play in. in the next morning
it is :)
What do you have your lens treated with to keep the water drops off?
The camera was inside press up against window glass. As far as I know, the glass was not treated.
Cool. You got better results than I did.
Darren Langdon I very briefly considered using a space heater to keep the glass from icing over. Once before I did a time lapse and most of it was frozen over with ice. Why doesn't NYC get so much snow :(
I saw this vid in school for since
oddy satisfying
The most snow I've ever seen where I live is around 11 inches
how much?
I not only watched the video but since I live in the Boston area, I shoveled this white stuff all day.
quel titre précis la musique, please ?😝
People must be careful when they drive a Prius or have a RWD truck lol. I got a little more than in the video. I live 35 min north of boston
The 3 minute video that should have been twenty seconds.
Mister Coco, Straight shooter, Alpha for the betas
With 3 minutes there's more for you to enjoy!
Nick Barber True. I had enough time to go get some popcorn, come back, then finish it.
what's the music?
Watch this on mute... while listening to Capo Blanco - "Cold Song" :)
Gotta love rooftop snow drifts! Not nearly as accurate as measuring from street level, where there aren't walls to build on.
But dont mess with TEXAS! OUR WEATHER IS BEAUTIFUL..LOOKS LIKE SPRING! THEY CANT REACH US .
holy shit you cant sink in that snow
We are talking about. Blizzards
lol the ice is going over the rail guards
it looks like bubbles in a bathtub
TABLE FLIP
Wow
Actively towing cars who park in my spot that I shovel out! Hahaha Just a warning! Been doing this now for more than 10 years.

WHY I WILL NEVER LEAVE MY HOME IN CHARLOTTE! lolol
You gotta swim out lol 😂
Horrible. Well, fun to watch in timelapse, but horrible to deal with in real life. Which fortunately I never have to do.
