      As good as your waveuwavu is, I gotta say that JDCR makes yours look kinda slow. My point is that there are so many levels to movement in tekken unlike any other game.

      aztekenen1 as a pad Mishima player who’s won several local tournaments in my scene, I’ve just recently transitioned to stick. Haven’t played online in 2 months because I’m focused on learning stick before I do that.
      I can tell you stick is much harder than pad to learn on, but it feels like high level execution is more consistent to me when I’ve warmed up on stick lately even compared to over 2 decades with pad vs 2 months with stock. Your wrists are going to give you more control in the end over your thumbs. So I highly recommend going over to stick if you have $200 laying around and are dedicated enough. You’ll end up dropping multi electrics in combos and wave dash cancels much less often.

    at 9:38, ws out of crouch dash... just cd into neutral. but then at 13:25 "now we're gonna look at the most difficult, and that is into ws" which is cd, quick neutral, back.
    what's the distinction between the two different cancel into ws?
    also, would love tips on how to do ewgf into dewgf. I used to be able to do this years ago when I played tekken 5... I think you buffer the f somehow? is that right?

    Do you recommend I use metronome doing the crouch dash "uh uh uh"? Slow speed then gradually increase speed as you've mastered the slower tempo?

    I don't get this term...
    Down 2
    Forward 1
    What does this mean?

    • @VarbuKoopix

      1 left punch, 2 right punch, 3 left kick, 4 right kick, directions are pretty straightforward and are based on how are you facing your opponent, so down 2 means combining two inputs together, the difference lies in notation though as for example d2 and d+2 seems the same but d+2 means pressing both inputs at the exact same time, while d2 means you can hold d and then press 2, best example is notation for wgf and ewgf, look it up and you will understand, damn this is a long comment

      Based on Playstation buttons:
      1 = Square
      2 = Triangle
      3 = X
      4 = Circle
      This is universal for all consoles/PC. Much easier for people to understand across the board, it applies to all fighting games.

    is he running a hex gate or square gate on his stick?

    • @SekC_
      @SekC_ 5 років тому

      he’s mentioned that the only thing he does is stretch the spring in his sticks so it’s stiffer, so i’m assuming he still has the default square gate

      @@scrye113 Hexagons don't offer an advantage for Tekken. Free movement and precise control is more rewarding. Octacon would get in the way and feel notchy when playing.
      For example when you do ➡️⭐️⬇️↘️ it's easy to just slide the stick along the bottom to the corner rather than on a hexagon have it notch in the ⬇️ direction and then slide it uphill to the next notch.
      The spring, pivot feel and ball top/bat top preferences makes the difference.
      It's all about preference but it thing most pros use square gates and Korean sticks have circle gates i think.
      That said Nobi is releasing a new joystick through Seimitsu that has something between a square and a hex gate.

      Practice like with any other controller, I'm pure shit on stick, but have been playing Tekken on pad since 98 so it has become natural. ALSO and VERY important, PS pads sadly have declined in quality, if you could get your hands on some ps1 pad or DualShock 1 things suddenly become a lot more better, trust me.
