As soon as I saw the Manor House, the gates and his profound eyes,I knew it was Bruce. This kid plays it very well even though his parents were still alive at this time,we could figure his deep secrecy and this feeling that he’s looking for someone for a bit of company. His eyes say it all.
It's so touching when he asks Bruce's name and looks at him in his eye. The gate between them represents so much - Bruce lives a sheltered life with abundance, love and care; whereas on the other side, Arthur lives a life of scarcity, isolation and hardship that Bruce can't imagine. Arthur, even though he can reach out to him can never be a part of his life.
@@mxtrem3 He is not spoiled (which implies a rotten character), he is materialistically pampered. He looks like his parents' investment asset, and guarded accordingly. They got personnel for that. A lot of things would entertain him if he got a chance. Those who are lost will start becoming insensitive and thus violently condescending towards their environment; bullies. Bruce there looks sensitive and thus numbed by the imprisonment.
Something else that I haven’t heard anyone talk about is their outfits. Arthur is wearing a cheap brown hoodie and a wrinkled button up shirt, while Bruce has a nice white turtleneck and a nice brown overcoat. Really highlights how similar yet disconnected they are.
Joker fights batman when both of them were old is return of the dark knight and died and literally went to hell and back and gained demonic powers in another comic, so yes
Xeno Husky Return of the Dark Knight both of them are old like you said which is fine, I’m talking about young Bruce Wayne growing up to be Batman at his peak to his late 20s or early 30s compared to a old person like Joker that was in his 40s in this movie is going to be real old, it would really become a flaccid fight if you can see this from the movie itself Joker’s only weapon is a gun and an possible army of early Jokerz
@@gamecarnival2024 Nah, he only uses that when he knows the manor is about to be attacked by villains. (Batman vs. Robin or Batman: the Telltale Series). There is a continuity where he had a hand gun (Beware the Batman).
Rithrius no lol. In this movie, it’s confirmed that he’s in his early 30’s. So it seems more like 20 something years older since Bruce here sees about 10.
This film takes place in a universe completely separate to ones we've seen, everywhere else Joker's name is not Aurther Fleck. Like how in Batman '89 his name was Jack Napier. In main comic continuity I think Joker's name was revealed but I'm not sure. In Batman The Animated Series it was said his name was Jack Napier but I think was revealed to be a false identity.
@@TheTrueSpottedStripe "The film take place in a diferent universe" You can say that about every single comic book adaptation XD Also, there is not a canonical origin of the Joker.
Not sure if it means anything but both Arthur and Bruce are wearing almost the same colour schemes. But different styles, as if they wanted to show sort likeness between them as if there were brothers. Bruce wearing expensive clothesline and Arthur wearing casual and almost thrift store clothing to also show a difference in social status.
Yeah that's called wearing clothes There is nothing to look at for their clothing choices bro ones rich ones poor this wasn't a director's cinematographical choice it was literally just whatever made sense
This kid is fantastic. Even though he only has one line, he does a pretty good job of portraying Batman the way he's silent, cool in the face of danger, and very unimpressed with something he thinks is silly.
You know, something I didn't realize at the time--the Joker is known to be a surprisingly good hand-to-hand combatant, freakishly fast and agile. It just occurred to me now, watching this, just how insanely fast Arthur is, how he turns on a dime from unflinching nothingness to violent in the blink of an eye. Tiny detail that fits perfectly with the Joker, actually.
it would have been cool if he actually got bruce to smile and laugh here to show there was something to lose, seeing his parents get shot apparently took his joy away and there they are unshot and here he is joyless

Yeah. Most continuities, Joker would be more deadly in getting results. Most other versions would either uses chemicals that puts victims in a state of laughter- often to the point of death- or carve a glasgow smile. So far, this is the only Joker that is not known for doing either.
Although this is Joker's movie I love how it still connects to the whole Batman mythology. the way it foreshadows Batman and Joker becoming archenemies and everything.
Arthur trynna make bruce laugh or smile and bruce not having it. While Arthur tries to force a smile with his own two hands is such a powerful scene. The foreshadow is beautiful!
This scene is amazing, the symbolism = perfect, the bars separating Bruce and Arthur, as they will down the line as Joker & Batman, their colour matching coats, The Joker trying to make Batman laugh, Bruce sliding down the pole....This film is outstanding.
The way they are dressed in same colors is a testament to they're the same. Remember how in Nolan's trilogy during the interregation scene Joker says to Batman "Don't talk like them, you're not one of them you and I are the same" and this is a really nice little nod to that.
One of the things I love about this movie is that it doesn’t matter that its a DC movie at all. All of the names could be switched and the story would function the exact same. That’s how you know a story is timeless
Well no. The story is terribly written. The reason you can switch all the names around is because it isn't a comic book movie and rather a movie using comic book names. It's kinda like taking the guy from CSI and calling him Jim Gordon and suddenly it's a Batman series.
If it's true that Arthur is Thomas Wayne's son, then that means him and bruce were destined to meet and continuously fight, its just a sibling relationship.

The gate between them represents so much - Bruce lives a sheltered life with abundance, love and care; whereas on the other side, Arthur lives a life of scarcity, isolation and hardship that Bruce can't imagine. Arthur, even though he can reach out to him can never be a part of his life.
