Miguel de Aguirre I was wondering if Mocha would work! Thanks for the tip, I’ll have to try that. For this project though i wouldn’t be able to use it though because I can’t get Mocha Track data to come back into AE no matter what I try. Even tech support couldn’t help me make it work. Hopefully the newer versions of AE have fixed it for me
You are an absolute wizard. I was always so hesitant to use Content Aware because I never believed it could tackle shots like this. But you took a pretty damn complex shot and killed it in comp. Thank you SO MUCH for this tut! Will definitely use this for reference
Haha thanks man! I appreciate that. Glad it could help you out. Wanted to make this video because I knew people would either assume it wouldn’t work on complex shots, or get frustrated when it didn’t work perfectly like they expected it too. Sometimes it just takes time learning how something works to know how to use it to your full advantage ya know
I saw your comment about masking. If you’re still wondering this video will explain a bit of that process: ua-cam.com/video/MSPvD0vkRBM/v-deo.html Doing a precise mask is helpful, but not critical. More importantly, you need to keep as much of the original background as possible when removing in photoshop. Don’t just press content aware in Ps and call it done. If you have more of the background from another frame, use that to remove the object. If not then clone it and rebuild it very precisely, and make sure to remove areas you may have painted over the original background.

A very nice job. The only other recommendation I would suggest is pre-denoising the clip/s, then reintroducing noise or grain after the FX have been done.
How. In. The. World!!! How is even possible you have only 191 subs?!? I land in this video and im like "Oh good, a very big AE UA-camr, maybe 500k or so..." Men, this is really high quality. That about reference frame wasn't even mentioned in other tutorials. Good luck and see you when you have a million subs
Nicely Done! Quick question f anyone knows... Can you create different more than one reference frame at different points in the timeline so if the video changes drastically, the content aware has more to work with? I have tried this but maybe I'm missing something or it's not possible. Thank you!
Thanks man! And yes you absolutely can. That’s actually the best way to do it in my opinion. Here’s another tutorial I made breaking that process down: ua-cam.com/video/MSPvD0vkRBM/v-deo.html
In addition to that tutorial here’s a quick note that helped me tremendously when I’ve worked with clips that change drastically: you may want to break it up into sections instead of doing one long fill layer. Maybe at different points where a big change happens, so the content aware fill is filling in similar data inside of each section. Does that make sense?
@@CodyPyper Of course you made a tutorial breaking down that exact thing. Ha. Thank you! Your example was the best I've seen explaining the process too.
You can do it that way if it’s a big clip, might be easier to keep it organized. But in the past I’ve kept it in the same comp and just worked left to right and changed the work area to only create the fill layer for each small section at a time
Hi Cody Pyper, that's a really amazing tutorial. I am actually facing a problem. So, I basically want to remove a power extension from the shot but the problem is, we use smoke as its a music video. After effects can't fill the area because of changes in texture. I hope you understand my question.
Thanks! And yes I think I know what you mean, the best way to fill it will be a mix of using AE Content Aware fill, and then taking some pieces to overlay over top of where AE messed up. Either creating clones in photoshop or in AE, you'll have to manually create and track some of the fixes on there. It's really tough but short of recreating something in a 3d environment, it's the best way I know how to do it!
Damn ur good, subbed + notif bell. Crazy how the youtube algorithm only shows me hot knife videos when this is what im trying to watch. Keep it going :)

very nice tutorial. I had and idea though which may remove your use of the secondary tracking and null object. instead of just rotoscoping the cameraman for the content aware fill, maybe try doing the same thing to a chunk of the audience where ghosting may occur. so that ghosting can happen further out that you can remove with a mask. then rotoscope the audience's heads back in.
My guess would be you added a reference frame, but didn’t remove anything. If you did add reference frames, check to make sure you removed the object in each frame.
Do they show up in the timeline? If you turn off everything else in the timeline except the reference frames, do they show up? They are just one little frame so they may be hard to find. Also, can you reveal the ref frame in finder and see if there is any data within the file?
Thank you so much, I’m learning tNice tutorials in quarantine and you made it very simple I really appreciate it, thank you for going over every little

Hi bro i cant success to remove properly the watermark without getting any shadow what can i do?i try do remove logo watermark on the middle of the screen and this "improvemnet" still distract the view
Just trying to help you achieve your goal, so knowing why you’re trying to remove it would help me better help you. Best way to remove a watermark is paying the owner of the content. If not, you’re probably stuck with the watermark honestly, unless you want to go frame by frame and remove it manually. But I would assume it would be better to just pay for it considering how long that would take, and your time is (probably) worth more than the cost of the footage
Great tutorial and explanation...how long did it take for you to complete this project? How much RAM did you have installed your computer to work in After Effects in real time...or reduce quality to 1/4 or 1/8 for smooth playback?
Thanks! It took me about 4 hours to complete this particular shot, and I actually only have 12GB RAM installed right now 😞. But working on a Mac Pro with a pretty good graphics card. I actually didn’t have playback in real time, I usually would hit play and wait for it to render each frame and then playback. I sped up the times in the video so you didn’t have to wait 😎
Man. That sucks. Here are a few things to that may help: -Make sure your layer mask is set to subtract -Make sure you have enough storage on your comp for it to make the fill layer (it creates a lot of pngs) -Try starting fresh, with a new project and doing a test mask and fill, and see if it works. Maybe your project file is messed up or corrupt? -Try using AE beta or upgrading to the newest AE. Just to see if that fixes it -If that doesn’t work, feel free to email me a video or screenshots of the problem, and maybe I can help you out!

when i click generate fill layer it opens window to save something when im saving is says error i need help
Hmm. I haven’t seen that happen. I would try saving and then quitting after effects and try again. Or try restarting your computer. Hope that helps!
@@CodyPyper i id that but idont know what to do i really want ro replace myself to movies
Hey I just stared a series on how to put yourself into a movie! Here’s the link to part 1, let me know what you think! ua-cam.com/video/CE9YPVD_ygI/v-deo.html

Cody Pyper oh i just saw yiur repoy now thanks for being so generous and yeah i fixed by myself i went into content aware fill setting and selected 3 of the dots and i fixed it btw im gonna see your link because content aware fill doesnot work that well❤️❤️
Awesome man good looking out.
Aye glad it could help
amazing work
Thank you! It was pretty fun haha
Can we use roto brush instead of pen tool?
Idk that’s a good question! I think you can because it just takes whatever “holes” are created using the a subtracted mask, so I assume the roto brush would work too
@@CodyPyper that's Nice
By the way What PC Specs Do you have .
Do You Think i7 + RTX 2060 is Good ?
@@CoMmAnDeRYT Yes those specs are good! I'm now using a 2014 iMac with i7, 32GB Ram, and AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4 GB, so your graphics card is definitely better than mine. Of course there are some other specs to consider, but compared to mine that looks pretty good
@@CodyPyper imac Vs Windows , which will you prefer
@@CoMmAnDeRYT I see the benefits and drawbacks of both. All things considered Windows might be my next move, but with price out of the equation I prefer Mac
im having a problem when i put gms and na the patter "app" it doesnt soft like what it was in the video its a loud annoying soft
Nice quality.
Thanks
No problem!
Hi bro i cant success to remove properly the watermark without getting any shadow what can i do?i try do remove logo watermark on the middle of the screen and this "improvemnet" still distract the view
Why are you trying to remove a watermark?
its matter?
Just trying to help you achieve your goal, so knowing why you’re trying to remove it would help me better help you. Best way to remove a watermark is paying the owner of the content. If not, you’re probably stuck with the watermark honestly, unless you want to go frame by frame and remove it manually. But I would assume it would be better to just pay for it considering how long that would take, and your time is (probably) worth more than the cost of the footage
its a supplier video like selling product which wrote few texts and i just want remove them properly
i saw something about mask and maybe open the ps and clone and get then a little mess wow if you can make some video on that it will be great
@cody Pyper This is lit !! Very helpful
Thanks!
Hello, please tell me what to do if an error appears after effects the Warning CAF out of memory ?
I think you need to make sure your hard drive/disk cache has enough space
Hey, I just wanted to check briesofty if there is a way for to import a new soft into the program, for example softs or sotNice tutorialng that
In The setup hey bro i wanted to know how do u load your Sample guide into the packs in the browser?
What song did you use for this?
It's called Easy Does It by Egon Stone (or The Dolorean) I got it from Artlist, but I don't know if it's still available
nice job, bro. Much more detailed work than in the usual tutorials~.
Thanks! Yea, I always appreciate more details when I'm trying to figure something out, so thought I would do the same
thanks Bruh, Very professional video.
You’re welcome my guy!
I bought the Fruity Edition and tNice tutorials tutorial helped out a lot!
Awesome!
Its attractive how calm tNice tutorials guy is
Wow nice , thank you so much , keep it up bro...
The video was so helpful! Thanks a lot!
Amazing! Thanks for this tutorial 😄
You are welcome!
Awesome! I would love to see the PS aswell :-)

How can I use this plugin for AE 2018 if I don't have it?
Awesome tut! Subbed... Do you have a video walking thru the details, that breaks down all the specifics of this process?
I don’t at the moment, but I am considering doing one because quite a few people have asked
If you have a question about something in particular, feel free to ask

thanks, i will do my best to have patience for tNice tutorials because i normally don't have much, i wish there were chapters here so i could skip
Yea maybe I’ll add chapters in actually, good point
Awsmmmmm work mannnn...🔥🔥✨
Nice tutorial Michael,
Abit too fast for beginner like me but blew my mind what AE can do. Subscribed!
Thanks for the sub! And yes it took me a while to dive in to AE but it is powerful for sure
It only fills it for 1 frame, i've already tried this for about 10 times and it still hasnt worked yet
Hey, we’re you able to get it to work?
@@CodyPyper no, i gave up after checking other tutorials and not being able to fix it
Man. That sucks. Here are a few things to that may help:
-Make sure your layer mask is set to subtract
-Make sure you have enough storage on your comp for it to make the fill layer (it creates a lot of pngs)
-Try starting fresh, with a new project and doing a test mask and fill, and see if it works. Maybe your project file is messed up or corrupt?
-Try using AE beta or upgrading to the newest AE. Just to see if that fixes it
-If that doesn’t work, feel free to email me a video or screenshots of the problem, and maybe I can help you out!
@@CodyPyper ty i'll try these tomorrow
Hey Cody,
Curious what you are using to record your screen. Resolution looks great.
Hey Matthew, I use a program called iShowU Instant, has a ton of great recording options and is pretty affordable!
Sweet. Thank you
Matthew Bowie yea no problem 👍🏼
