9:31 dang you were locked in with those clouds going visual only! Definitely an eye opener, because I have a bad habit of watching the panel too much. Prepping for my solo and this was pretty helpful
Hahaha I was pretty locked in! This was a great tip for me to start looking outside more. I had a lot of trouble knowing if I was coordinated or not and had to reference the panel often. Now that a couple years have passed I hardly ever use my instruments because I’ve developed a feel for my plane. Fly as often as you can and it’ll become a sixth sense! I also highly recommend getting your tailwheel endorsement as it will make you a better pilot and when you get back in a tricycle gear it’ll feel like driving a minivan! Good luck!
i heard razorback and i was confused until he said Bentonville, I'm over in Melbourne at Ozarka doing the aviation Program! I do my first checkride tomorrow!
Q: Coming out of the right turn during slow flight, CFI asks for a power off stall... Why increase speed to Vfe before stall entry? Why not just complete the stall from where you were?
I bet he wanted to replicate real world scenario: power off stalls are typically landing scenarios, so establishing vfe before stall entry replicates a landing scenario and provides better training
Nothing is more useless to a pilot than air in the fuel tanks or the runway behind you. Even if you have 5000’, you should always use the full length of the runway in case of a malfunction on the t/o roll.
I’m using a go pro 8 black edition with it set to 4k. I’ve also had trouble getting it to focus on the inside some days when the sun was directly in front of me or there weren’t enough clouds in the sky. good luck!
This is good to see what it’s like as I’m coming up on my stage check!
Good! I’m glad i could help somebody out. Good luck!!
This is very helpful video. I'm also preparing pre-solo checkride and I can imagine how it will go. Thanks for sharing.
first stage check in 3 weeks, this helps a lot thanks
Very useful video, I’m getting ready for my phase check next month and good to see this
Thank you, good luck!
Great job! My pre solo check wasn’t at an untowered airport, cool to see the difference

Q: Coming out of the right turn during slow flight, CFI asks for a power off stall... Why increase speed to Vfe before stall entry? Why not just complete the stall from where you were?
He wanted a complete recovery before entering the stall
I bet he wanted to replicate real world scenario: power off stalls are typically landing scenarios, so establishing vfe before stall entry replicates a landing scenario and provides better training
Yo dude, you looked great. Just wondering how you got headset audio to your camera. Got my check tomorrow and would love to record it
Thanks man! I just used a 3.5mm aux cord with a 3.5mm- 1/4in adapter on one end to plug into the backseat headset jacks!
This is pre-solo or pre checkride? Fantastic video, what settings are you using on the camera and are you using the GoPro for audio? Thanks!
This was a Pre-solo progress check to determine if I was ready to solo yet. I film in 4k with the super wide turned on.

do you remember how many hours you had at this point
I believe it was around 25-30 at this point.
Going into mine tomorrow with 17 hours, nervous as hell but this helped!@@jackcolefreeman6242
What camera are you using? I can manage to get it to focus outside, the panel looks nice but outside is to bright and it doesn't focus right.
