Hey Guys, As you have probably noticed already i have updated the channel name and logo. The channel is no longer Really Random Channel it is now RRC Restoration. Just incase you were wondering why the water marks in the video still say Really Random Channel. Enjoy.
Thank you, Im glad you enjoyed it :) I was actually surprised when i opened it to find a ball bearing i thought it was going to be some sort of counterweight mounted on a shaft.
I can't believe that some people give a thumbs down to your videos... I find them always interesting, informative and a pleasure to watch. Fantastic job as usual!
From Portugal. Excellent restoration. Good work. Great way to be at home and have a busy time. Stay at home. Congratulations. More restorations for us to see. A hug and lots of health.
I totally and completely understand how you need to protect what is yours! Pretty sad how and why you need to resort to this but we ALL need to protect what is ours! Great work as always n cheers from Canada and hope is all good @ your end as well!
As always a wonderful new episode from the master. Thanks for sharing. I think you should hook up with (Kate Raworth famous for the Doughnut economic model) she lives in oxford I believe, as you are showing the value of restoring and reusing instead of buying new things. There is value in teaching and executing on this model and you maybe helping show the many folks who just don't appreciate the value of restoring and reusing. If it is not a big issue, it would be nice to be able to see your workshop and the tools and organization of them. It is nice to see something that is positive in these times where fear and xenophobia are on the rise. Keep it up mate..
Very interesting! I would have thought there was a little off center weight on a spinning pivot rather than a big ball bearing shooting around a tunnel. That's really cool!
@@RRCRestoration Same. and as a fan of particle physics and the Cern LHC I giggled when I saw it because first thing I thought of was a particle accelerator.
Fantastic restoration of an interesting tool! Thank you so much for posting! 😃 Although, if you can find a new pad to put on the bottom (that doesn't have worn out corners), it would make me very happy! 😝
Thank you very much for watching and commenting. Oh i know exactly what you mean i started the project thinking i had some closed cell foam lying around the workshop to make a new pad but surprise surprise its not there anymore i was gutted at putting the old pad back on :(
Great restoration. As ever your attention to detail, and your pride in your work, really makes your videos shine. Thank you for taking the time and the effort to make, edit, and post great content during these strange times. I do hope you and your family are all safe and well. Selfishly, my Wife decided to have a heart attack last week. We were both surprised to find out that she even had a heart, lol. Seriously though she really did have a heart attack, and had to have a stent fitted. You will be pleased to know she is back home and feeling good now, so I did not have to go too many days without a hot brew. What more can a man want, but a really random channel new video, and a brew. God bless you brother.
Hi, Pleasure to see you in the comment section again and im so sorry to hear about your wife i hope her and yourself are keeping well. I apologize for the late reply but as you say these are strange times we are living in just now and everything is up in the air. Stay safe.
Great work, love your videos ! 2 remarks if I may : when applying teflon tape - it is recommended to make about 7 windings - it is to be wound in a counterclockwise direction, so when you screw in the part, the teflon is not loosened but tightened - the excess is to be cut off so it doesn’t end up in your equipment’s innards after a while
Nice 👍 would be proud to have that in my workshop. Great content that is very well produced to keep us interested to the end. Pleased you showed it working at the end..
Nice resto! Too bad the little Free Sander wasn't able to sand itself but I am sure he enjoyed being sanded for once. I was worried you forgot the logo for a minute.
Always enjoy your videos, this one was no exception! Maybe you could do like I did for little spray jobs like this & build yourself a lazy susan table for turning the piece around while spraying to get into the awkward bits, save doing a marathon round the table!
Very nice video! Just a tip about the side where you used the file: with a flat furface (glass) and sand paper you can get very good results. If it's iron/steel, the use water or kerosene for a smooth surface finish. Cheers!
I thought the Random Channel popping here and there was a feature; now I read that its for "copyright". I really enjoy it anyways. Thanks for another great video!
Hi RRC that's a rare beast, looks good, i have come to the conclusion you must like a takeaway or 2 you always seem to have them tubs to hand he he, hope you & yours are keeping well, ATB wayne.
Always a pleasure to see you, I can see why you'd think that but i buy these containers online in bulk since they are so handy only a couple are from the takeaway ......honest ;) haha. Yeah we are all fine here , Hope you and your family are all staying safe aswell.
Quick question, sometimes you use paintstripper before sandblasting but this time you went straight to sandblasting, is there a reason behind this or how is the procedure for this? Thanks and great job!!
HI, Nice question im glad you asked, If a paint or powder coat is particularly thick or tough i like to weaken it with paint stripper first to take the strain off of the air compressor and the blast media, using paint stripper first means i can blast at a lower pressure and save wear on the compressor and blast media, for small items like this there is no need to pre- weaken the paint.
I'm new to the channel, but really like it. Regulars may know the answer to my question, but... What is the powder product used to clean the parts? and... is there a video just on plating, where to get the chemicals from and what other finishes are available. Great work! Thank you RMC :)

Good idea, or smear the rolling track with a little grease.
Maybe graphite, grease would reduce it's effectiveness I think.
