    Having major flashbacks of 'Pimp my Ride' puting screens in peoples bumpers, taillights n' steering wheels when they couldn't fit a popcorn maker. I was waiting for Xzibit to show up and mock your bathroom... Hope you conveted the towel rack into a gun rack, and you have a decent sniper tripod.

      Look up the backstory on that show. I grew up watching it and never knew how so much of it was fake regarding the car builds.

    I figured you would add vertical side tracks to aid in shelf stability/guiding. Maybe a linear rail or v-wheel setup

    • @CGT80
      @CGT80 4 місяці тому

      Linear rail was my exact thought and it would have worked with his angled cut if he had used two layers of dead tree........I do fabrication and welding but for many years did paint and finishing on residential and commercial buildings so I have worked on many cabinets.

  • @CovertGunman
    @CovertGunman 7 місяців тому +13

    Something I just thought of, for the wobbliness and single mounting point for the top half, could you add some structural pieces that are attached to the bottom of that top half and will act as a guide? You could even have them be like drawer mounting brackets so it's smooth and could be attached at both ends.

    • @CGT80
      @CGT80 4 місяці тому

      Do you know what linear rails are? That was my thought, but I do fabrication and welding and my primary trade was painting, staining, and finishing the dead tree carcass that finish carpenters built. He could have maybe hid the rails and carriages inside some wood and used the same bevel on the side to where two pieces of dead tree "wood" meet up, with a second layer to hold the other half of the rail system.

    One suggestion - When you were putting the hinges on and you were blowing the nails too far out the sides, use a scrap block as a backer and it prevents the nail from blowing out the wood and it makes a little cleaner and easier to fix if it does go through. Great work. love all the fun projects
