I was always taught to make your fold as close to the edge of the selvage as possible (or if going across the fabric at least have it as close to the cut edge) so in this case the crotch part should be near on the selvage and the outer leg is the fold 🤷🏼♀️ unless there is definite use for the rest. I apologise if I make no sense, or if I’ve seen the picture incorrectly! Great pants tho can’t wait to make a pair!

I must have a longer stride than you, because I made these as per your instructions exactly, and I have to walk with basically baby steps, because the length of the crotch seam is too short.
I accidently made these with flannel fabric for my daughter. She loved them, but I'm happy to see the correct way to make them. Thank you Mimi
