    Great tutorial!!! I love that you are showing how to make your own pattern! Oh honey, I would have been in so much trouble by my mom for not folding over only enough fabric I needed for the pattern so that I would have a bigger piece of fabric scrap left over! She was a quilter and was always making aprons and other items for neighbors and friends. Sadly, she passed last year and although she wasn’t feeling well, she still managed to get one more apron made for her great grandchild. She used fabric from a dress she made for herself when in high school. Oh how I miss her!

    I am so impressed with this tutorial! I have been fighting with a pattern by a famous company, each leg is 4 pieces. I worked up a muslin, they looked like hammer pants! WAAAYYY too big. So glad I didn't cut my beautiful ponte! Will give this method a go. Thank you!

I do, however, have access to great fabrics at a great price and I want my leggings to be different from everyone else. Thanks a ton! This makes life easier and more fun for me. ;-)

    have to Admit this is the clearest & best making a pattern from old leggings and how to sew them. Thank you so much! But did you have to tell us your waist is 27"! I dont think mine was that at 4!!!

      I tried the old leggins as a pattern like she shows here and they ended up being too small; even with the additional 2 inch waist and 1/4 inch seam allowance. Sorry I wasted my beautiful fabric. I should have stuck to my own pattern.

      Lisa Dugan I notice also she never mention grain line

    • @bevhales6951
      @bevhales6951 6 років тому +1

      As it's a knit fabric you don't need to worry so mush about the grain line or whether it would fray (as knits don't fray). Although you could line it up down the Centre of the leg if the pattern was very obvious, it'd get confusing with the line needed for the outer leg so I'd just follow Mimi's advice and use just the one line for the outer leg position till you get the hang of how to do it. You could serge it if you prefer to see a bound edge.
