1983's War games. Demonstrated how U.S. war games had been conducted leading to changes in policy. Plus, after president Ronald Regan saw the movie increase in the new field of cyber security was high-end for the U.S. government.
I am politically apathetic. I don't enjoy too much exposition, subtext complex philosophy. I am not dumb. I am not gifted. I do not have the eyes to be a leader of family and legacy generations. I'm only simple minded, cooperative, and curious. I feel like my mindset. Is like that of a child and baby. I may be a young adult. But, I feel nervous, timid, and scared to be a leader. I do not fit in the political landscape world.
Philosophical Views From Margaret Thatcher.
"I think we have gone through a period when too many children and people have been given to understand "I have a problem, it is the Government's job to cope with it!" or "I have a problem, I will go and get a grant to cope with it!" "I am homeless, the Government must house me!" and so they are casting their problems on society and who is society? There is no such thing! There are individual men and women and there are families and no government can do anything except through people and people look to themselves first. It is our duty to look after ourselves and then also to help look after our neighbour and life is a reciprocal business and people have got the entitlements too much in mind without the obligations".
"Don't follow the crowd, let the crowd follow you."
"There is no alternative"
-Margaret Thatcher.
The Norsefire political party. Has homages to the Nazi Party and the views of Adolf Hitler. This has nothing to do with Margaret Thatcher at all. Since in the world of V For Vendetta, Margaret Thatcher lost the election of Britain. Which led to the creation of Norsefire.
V for Vendetta was a very powerful movie. The Guy Fawkes mask has become such an iconic symbol in Anarchism and the phrase “people shouldn’t be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid of their people.” It has certain inspired many anti government groups and incited some of craziest political riots in the 21st Century.
Including ones by the group that adopted the mask.
I don't think it's about anarchy it's about a government that doesn't dictate everything you do. I mean if that's anarchy then sign me the hell up

The movie sucks, it took away all the struggles of eve, from a little kid to becoming the new v
Every time I watch V for Vendetta, it’s scary how much it’s becomes more relevant now
You’ve missed what’s been going on for 23 years at least. It has a lot of based off Bush in the movie
The fact that the negative shark stigma still exists close to fifty years after _Jaws_ came out is just a testament to how effective that whole film is.
I was 9 when Jaws was released. It certainly increased the fear of sharks for awhile but it by no means created it.
Never saw it, and I am terrified of them.
Not to mention that Free Willy gave orcas a good reputation when in fact the real menaces are orcas not sharks
And dolphins have a good reputation despite being psychopats
@@XGamerFPS2164orcas are scary smart. True ocean serial killers.
this top ten needs to be split into several subcategories. art imitating life and life imitating art is a massive subject to explore
V for vendetta was a great one. I was surprised to not see the matrix. It had almost a rippling effect as well!
V For Vendetta is an amazing movie and it feels relevant to this day . The comic book is awesome also .
There is another film that affected the real world. Not necessarily a feature film. It’s more of a collection of short films. That being the British stop motion short film series Wallace & Gromit. Around the time of the release of the first three short films, the Wendslydale cheese factory was running into financial difficulties and was at risk of declaring bankruptcy. However because Nick Park made the decision to have Wendslydale be Wallace’s favourite brand of cheese in the shorts, it caused sales of that brand to sky rocket, it saved the factory and the brand soon became synonymous with the Yorkshire Cheese loving inventor and his intelligent dog.
DIdn't know that and I love Wallace and Gromit. :)
Neither did I.
I'd say that positive effect of a movie was Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. Most comedic of them all, it tackled the issue of decreasing numbers of humpbacks and whale hunting as such. Although it did not have immediate effect, throughout the years humpbacks bounced back from extinction.
V For Vendetta is my favourite film of all time, it has a great message and there’s a reason I have it tattooed on me. It’s message also still means a lot today.
I'll always remember this line.
"Remember remember, the 5th of November."
-V
But do you know the real history behind it? V for Vendetta pretty much romanticised the whole event but to this day historians sigh with a relief it was stopped.
@@marikothecheetah9342 not really king james was a dick
V for Vendetta was my very first adult movie when I was young (I saw it when I was 12 years old in 2006) and that movie really impress me, and Natalie Portman perfomance's was so raw and powerful 😢😢 and since that day, she is my favorite actress of all time!!! She won a Saturn Award for best actress
The philosophic conundrum 'how do we know that our reality is actually real?' has been around for hundreds of years. However, the question came into mainstream consciousness with The Matrix films. When studying for my philosophy degree, these concepts and themes were regularly contextualised and illustrated by references to The Matrix movies.
Depends on what you believe..if you believe that parallel worlds are possible, time travel, Mandela effect, it may be possible that the Matrix is an allegory for what we define as our reality
I can't believe you mentioned Psycho in #2 but didn't include it in the list. My mother and others in my family said it impacted them so much they didn't take showers for a month, only baths.
And then Nightmare on Elm Street came out with the bathtub scene😂😂
@@paulcarpenter7844 Was about to say the same :D
My brother started our schools fight club. My Dad tried to fight the principal when he threatened to shut it down.
The Birth of A Nation is one of the only movies I can safely say should have been lost to time.
There is one movie that should be on here, the South Korean movie "Silenced" which is of course based on a book....based on the horrific real life events that went down in this South Korean school which I won't say here but the students...dear god it was HORRIBLE for them, an investigation was launched but all the teachers who done those things to those children got off scott free, no punishment!
It wasn't until the actor for the movie (Gong Yoo) read teh book himself and was so angry about what he read he demanded a movie to be made about it...which then changed South Korea as a whole, he even said the movie was the proudest he ever made (and he SHOULD feel proud). The movie caused an outcry from the public regarding how the court handeld the case so it was re-opened and those teachers were finally caught and sent to prison.
Thanks to "Silenced", it a new law was made known as the Dogani Law (named after the Korean title of the movie).
It's a movie that...you have to be brave to watch. Because it is VERY mean spirited, it is based on the true events that went down and it makes you angry with how things turn out which was the intent of the film...very well done but not for everybody.
Thanks for the tip. I'll probably limit myself to read about it, but still.
“Ideas are bulletproof.” -Guy Fawkes.
Unfortunately, they are not idiotproof :/
M&M MARS...............You REALLY Dropped The BALL On THAT One Didn't YOU????
The first time I watched V for Vendetta was back in high school and I loved the movie. I even bought the mask off Amazon.
In Wallace and Gromit , Wendsleydale cheese was nearly bankrupt . The movie mentioned it and it was back in business . 😊
Loved the topic of this movie and I think a companion piece of this movie being made, the topic being the effect of literary works on society, both modern and classic works.
One of the most influential writer being Charles Dickens, examples of Christmas traditions due to "Christmas Carol" and how the life of children of convicts especially who have to stay with parent in jail due to no other caregiver improved by "The Great Expectations"
Upton Sinclair's 'The Jungle' led to large overhauls in food safety in the United States, after it portrayed meat plants as causing employees to lose their limbs, which would then be ground in with other meats. It was not Sinclair's intention, as he'd really wanted to show the plight of immigrant laborers in the US. As Sinclair famously said, "I meant to hit the public in the heart, and I accidentally hit it in the stomach."
@@Tyrunner0097 I only mentioned Charles Dickens to skow how influential his work was and I also mentioned both modern works and classic lierature
V for Vendetta one of the Greatest Movies in the last years, also The Truman Show also create the doubt if everything on Life is Real?, Mar Adentro show the Another Point of View of Euthanasia, Philadelphia create conscience about AIDS, Rain Man about Autism.
*I love how the narrator nearly laughs twice while doing the Fight Club entry. lol*
"The Dark Knight Rises" 😢 the guy who killed those people in the movie theater on the night of that movies release 😢😢
I love v for vendetta. What a film ❤
I liked your simple but totally correct comment, I agree
The comic book was even scarier from what I heard
I’ve never even seen V. I need to watch it especially cos of the guy Fawkes mask being so iconic x
Ever since I watched creepshow 2 the raft as a kid I freak out anytime I go into a lake and can't see my feet lol
Humpback whales were saved over the past 40 years thanks to Star Trek IV the Voyage Home
true. Didn't see your comment and posted my own about it :)
Great list
The movie "The interview" from 2014, nearly caused a war with North Korea.
The Interview should be on this considering it almost started a nuclear war with North Korea bc they were so pissed lol
The silent film "The Man Who Laughs", based on a Victor Hugo story about a clown whose face was carved by thugs into a painful grin when he was a kid. Conrad Veidt's appearance in the movie inspired Jerry Robinson to create arguably the best-known comic book villain of all time, The Joker.
“I realized, as terrifying and painful as reality can be, it's also the only place where you can find true happiness. Because reality is real.” James Halliday
Also.."and it's the only place you can get a decent meal."
Guess I forgot the rules of Fight Club do not talk about Fight Club.
sshhh
Taken did the same thing jaws did when it was show in cinéma. Tourisme to Paris saw low visit thanks to the fear of kidnapping
Amazing video watch mojo of movies that have a strong effect to impact the world in a big way too, fantastic job.
I was told by a friend who worked on a local parole board that many prisoners tried reciting/paraphrasing Morgan Freeman's "rehabilitation" speech from _The Shawshank Redemption_ 😂
V for vendetta is such a great movie
Reefer Madness should have been on here as well!
One thing you missed is that War Games (Badham, 1983) inspired the current US President Ronald Reagan to implement the USA's first cybersecurity policies. He sat through the entire movie and when it ended he immediately asked "Could something like this really happen?".
Final Destination and everyone not driving behind a truck load full of trees
I had heard four of these before. Found the others informative!
I’m surprised The Exorcist isn’t on here.
The real "ruling class" don't want religion to get more popular .
If there are any other movies that affected the real world, hope for an eventual part 2 please
I didnt even have time to say "Jaws should be on the list" before you showed the clip.
and I heard that there’s a theory online that Gaston killed Bambi‘s mom
wow taught me about a lot of information.
V is kind of funny when you know the history of Guy Fawkes. Plus did he have any actual plans to rebuild the country after the dictatorship was removed or just leave the country to potentially descend into anarchy and chaos.
Two more (at least allegedly):
Undershirt sales take a nosedive -- "It Happened One Night" (1934)
Undershirt/T-shirt sales recover -- "A Streetcar Named Desire" (1951)
An item for a future list would be the US insider trading provision based on Trading Places. It's more nuanced, and belated, but the rule is commonly referred to as the Eddie Murphy Law.
Plz TV shows next 🙏
Real clownfish were taken from their habitats due to the success of Finding Nemo
No, not really. People, who owned the fish started flushing them in the toilet and it became so big that governments issued a statement not to flush the poor fish.
Wait, there were fight clubs after the movie came out? Why didn’t we hear about this on the news?
SSSSHHHH !!!
The first rule!
@@caronstout354 you too !! SSSHHH!!!!
I remember meeting a guy back in those days that had a yearly fightclub with his friends. They arranged a Summer party every year in someone's garden and did that. I found it pretty stupid but if it worked for them, go ahead and beat each other up, I guess.
In 2019 after Joker was in theaters, people started using The Joker's image for protests around the world
Beat Street caused an explosion of Breaking around the world almost immediately.
I would add contagion on there. People behavior started to imitate the ones in the movie during the pandemic
It's just a theory, but I bet Fast and The Furious caused a rise in popularity in illegal street racing.
Amazing!!!!!! That a REALLY GREAT FAMILY movie could save or make a candy a ONE of the good old GREATS!!!! 😂❤😂❤😂❤😂
The Magic Bullet Theory was debunked years ago. They’ve confirmed there was four shooters though.
The famous hand sign from Hunger Games was used by protesters in Myanmar, you could have at least put that as Honorable Mention.
Top 10 tv shows affected people real world
And now most recently the 2023 movie Sound of Freedom is the film that affected the world the most
Bambi's moms revenge," I'm no dear in the headlights sucka"
I remember me and my best friend having a fight club every Friday night because I watched fight club, best days
Honestly ET is the reason I love Reese’s Pieces 😂😂
Reese's Pieces are better than M&Ms. The PB&J M&Ms were good though.
The first Matrix movie influenced many people to buy leather jackets and pants.
What about The Day After and Threads contributing to the end of the Cold War?
It is horrible that some people actually hunted sharks because of a MOVIE. I have never seen Jaws in full, but I still dislike it because of the negative portrayal of sharks. It created more prejudice against sharks, and this shark prejudice could have contributed to sharks’ endangerment because some people are still less likely to sympathise with sharks as much as, say, pandas, because they view them as man-eating, dangerous animals due, in part, to movies like Jaws and Sharknado and The Meg.
This is also similar to how I hate the movie The Grey, despite never having seen it, as it depicted wolves, animals who already had a villainous reputation in the movies and stories, as vicious man-eaters, which, again, they are not. Apparently, the actors also ate wolf meat during filming. Absolutely disgusting. It is actually extremely rare for healthy, wild wolves to attack humans; they are generally very wary animals that avoid humans. You are more likely to get killed in a room full of people (especially strangers) than in a forest with wolves.
Please do the wolves and sharks a favour; next time you see or hear of a movie that portrays them as bad, speak up and kindly contact the makers about it!
the gambling-on-Russian-roulette that was invented for THE DEER HUNTER became a thing in the Philippines.
Damn bro this is interesting
Polskiego filmu się nie spodziewałem.
"Shark attacks are incredibly rare" Meanwhile in Egypt a Russian guy is attacked , killed and filmed like Jaws movie , ironically right
They are rare though
Also 2 men attacked in Florida within less than 36hrs.
Considering how many people go to the beach every year, that's still pretty rare. You're much more likely to be attacked by dogs than by sharks.
The Interview- North Korea lost it when they found out about a movie about assassinating their Leader.
A lot of people who were in the Mafia held The Godfather in high regard, despite the extreme controversy that the book caused.
It Happened One Night. Sales of men's undershirts plummeted
V for Vandetta so true en cooool🥵🙃🇰🇪
I believe the Federal Reserve Bank of New York had to change its layout due to the producers accurately portraying the real life one during the robbery in Die Hard lol
honorable mention:
Contagion (2011): you know the reason
Final Destination got everyone paranoid.
On a highway and see truck carrying logs? Nope.
South Korean film “Silenced” should be on the list!
We thought the movie Colors was pure fiction when it came out. A few years later crips a bloods everywhere.
Surprised Die Hard 3 or 4 didn't make the list. They literally caused the government to investigate the directors lol
Amirican pie invented or popularized the word MILF it would not be strange that older women -younger men relationships made a jump in the 2000s by the inspiration of the movie
Crazy
Love your lists😊😊😊❤❤❤
Bot
NOTHING about "The Day After"? A film that lead to the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty and was a HUGE step in ending the Cold War????
I’m Surprised He Didn’t Say The Joker Movie ;)
I always was curious why Resses pieces were so popular so much when M & Ms are so much better taste wise. And now I know.
I'm surprised The Matrix wasn't on this list.
It should be, for all the wrong reasons.
Poltergeist, I mean I never liked my closet door in my room to be open, even before watching the movie, the remake might have made it worse.
Barbarian where The Mother busted through the wall
Remember Remember the 5th of November
You should add screaming cause it really caused the demand of caller id
The Sinbad movie Kazaam has caused wars
Why in all of Disney's movies does a parental figure die
Because Disney lost his mother.
I feel like sharks have one of the worst PR teams of any animal, likely due partially from Jaws. They get such a bad reputation. Same could be said about animals like snakes, spiders, wolves, hyenas, and piranhas.
basically any animals that aren't 'cute'
@@legendarynaga i think wolves are pretty cute sometimes. And piranhas just look like cute normal fishes until their teeth bare. All of these animals have the capacity for cuteness.
Also sequel to Bambi
b4 i even watch this list if final destination doesn't make this list
