Sometimes you dont need to explain why something is a sin. Sometimes the Bible saying it's a sin is all the reason I need
of course, but a deep understanding of the subject makes a great weapon againts evil
Well good luck explaining that to those who don’t believe in the Bible being the Holy Word of God, or worse, say that it’s wrong because “X” reason.
Sometimes you really do have to go beyond the idea of “well, *Why* does the Bible/God say it’s wrong?”

Sure, for some who already understands, yeah, but for those who don't, like he said in the video, "because the Bible says so," isn't a very satisfying answer for most people, especially when they feel like in the moment, that it doesn't feel wrong, or even feels good.
I agree with the other comments that it's important to deeply understand this topic as well as others in regards to sin, so that when other people ask us why "X" is wrong, when it doesn't seem as obvious to them, we can give a thorough and well thought out answer to them, that hopefully makes sense to them. It can be very difficult to explain to people, especially now, in this "sex-positive" culture, why this is wrong. Heck, even just last year, I remember having a conversation about this with a friend of mine about this very thing, and he gave a lot of different reasons why having sex outside of marriage could be good, or why saving that for marriage could be bad, that I couldn't accurately counter at the time, because I myself have no experience in any of it, so I knew my words would ring hollow, especially if I just kept repeating "because the Bible said so." That paints me as woefully naive in his eyes, so there must be something more I could say, that could really explain the wisdom of God that could hopefully reach his mind, and most importantly, his soul. I asked another friend about the conversation, a friend who is a brother of Christ, who's _definitely_ more knowledgeable than me, and he helped give me a lot of points that I didn't know about the topic that I could bring up, should it ever come up again, both biblical and statistical, and real world advice on how to solve all the issues my other friend posed.
Sometimes, situations can be messy, and look a bit gray, but the answer is always black and white, and the answer is always the one God laid out for us, but sometimes, it's hard to see him among all the grays, and so we justify our own blindness.
In closing, perhaps for you, if it's in the Bible, and it's God's word, that could be enough, but it's always best to get a thorough understanding of his word beyond just what he says, for those that don't, and to help fortify yourself against all doubt and temptation.

I’m a 19 year old virgin woman who’s also in college and the amount of men who told me that they refuse to wait until marriage because “men are sexual creatures.”
Here are some other things I’ve dealt with:
1. Meeting “Christian” men who still do drugs, cuss, listen to explicit music, drink alcohol excessively, never go to church/Bible study, party, and have sex before marriage.
2. Female peers making fun of me for waiting until marriage (“What if your husband sucks at sex?”)
3. My church being 80% elderly, 10% married couples with kids, and 5% people my age but they come on Easter and Christmas
4. Seeing couples on social media and crying that I haven’t gotten it yet but God’s timing is worth it, just have to be patient
5. Temptation, temptation, temptation. It seems in this world these days you have to participate in a hookup, sex before marriage, or marry early to feel love, and I don’t want that. God doesn’t want that.
6. Missing out on majority of college events (parties and frats) because I want to worship God but I’m incredibly lonely
7. Men rejecting me because “I see you as a friend” but turn around and date a girl who does OF and has failing grades
8. Trying to remain positive about your future because God has it handled but…..it’s so isolating.
Of course this doesn’t just apply to women because both men and women experience the struggles of waiting for marriage and being a Christian. But I just wanted to share my two cents as a Christian woman myself.

I have experienced this too and getting ghosted because I refuse to have sex before marriage. I am 27 years old and still a virgin. Obeying God is worth the wait. God's timing is the best

@afrofaeries Dear sister, I feel you. I can't say I know what it feels like to experience no. 1, 2, and 7, but I definitely have experienced 5 and especially no. 6. I do understand the loneliness/isolation that comes with following God/doing the right thing. But I'm always encouraged by the fact that Jesus is our satisfaction, and that He will always be with us even till the end of the age. Keep holding on, I'm sure that it will be worth it.

Straight facts
Best decision we made. I broke up with my first boyfriend at 19 to save myself. Met my husband at age 20 and married as virgins and our relationship is unreasonably blissful. Everyone else we know has had sexual partners prior to their current spouses and struggle with all kinds of marital problems that make our relationship flaws look miniscule. We're celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary next month.

As someone who fell into it before marriage with my ex, i can confidentially say, DO NOT do it before marriage, learn from others mistakes, it takes way too long to recover emotionally and spiritually from something you should have listened to God in the first place for. @@rangariraikunedzimwe2780 both, it took around 6 months to break the soul tie. I occasionally get flashbacks to moments but I no longer desire her sexually. Now that I’ve awakened love before it’s time like Songs of Solomon says, my desires have become stronger and I have to deny my flesh twice as much daily because ik how it feels and want it more. One of the worst parts is it’s causing me to have a ton of wet dreams, I’ve never dealt with that so much. I wake up mad about those dreams when they come up especially because I’m never thinking about the situation to even have the dream. The experience taught me a valuable lesson about listening to God, He’s not an annoying dad taking fun away, He’s extremely loving and knows what you’re gonna go through if you fall into your temptations. I nearly beg people to not do it before marriage, everything that happens after will never be worth satisfying yourself for the moment. The Bible is absolutely correct, it satisfies you for the moment, but emotionally and spiritually, it messes you up. We did love each other and left on good terms, but we lusted each other far more than loved. And a small tip for people who easily are attracted to people, just because the person is very physically attractive and beautiful/handsome with a good personality, doesn’t mean they’re meant to be with you. I won’t discredit her, she’s very beautiful and very physically attractive, but I should have let go of being lukewarm (both of us should have) and started listening to God, a good body and sexual experience DOES NOT mean the experience will be good forever UNLESS your married. To everyone waiting till marriage, keep going, it’s never worth it before marriage, I’m healed and moved on of everything, but it messes you up long term. (Lemme add something) but if you have fallen into it and realized your wrongs, God will truly forgive you and heal you if you genuinely want to repent of it. I can’t thank Him enough for everything He’s done for me, I don’t deserve to be forgiven, especially because I knew it wasn’t good till marriage, but His love is stronger than your sins, now I’m waiting for my future wife and most definitely setting boundaries.

I have fallen to this sin. I grew up Christian and have always known pre-marital sex was wrong. I fell into this sin with love in my heart for my future spouse, we have been together for 5 years and have never regretted it. I wish I found this video before, I regret it now. I have also fallen into this sin. It pains me to remember that even at the time I knew that I was going against God's laws, and even though I sinned, that led me to a time of pain and sadness where I felt that everything had collapsed and I would always be alone. When I reached the lowest point of my sadness, that was where God looked for me. That was when I understood that I was not really alone because He was with me. It is never too late to seek God and ask for forgiveness for our sins. We are not perfect; we are weak against the enemy, but we must always have faith in the Lord and ask Him to always be with us, to guide us each day to Him, to paradise.

And the guy she married said, "You're my virgin." 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old has gone. The new has come." I don't think you could honestly say, "I'm a virgin," but I think the term "newborn virgin" works. God bless you as you grow in Him!

i think that marriage correlates to a better relationship (regardless of whether you had sex before or after it) because of the planning, not because it’s a “natural good” or represents a turn away from the inherent objectification of bodies during sex. overall though, marriage is a hollow concept to me since the legal, social and civil aspect of it are completely replicable without it and it’s culturally and temporally constructed.
that said i can come to respect the kinds of opinions that elevate it as a necessity even though i think they’re harmful to some people (i.e naturally casual daters and lgbt people who literally can’t marry in some countries as a form of discrimination)

Lost my virginity pretty much a year ago, never regretted anything as much as this. I‘ve suffered so much pain from this I wouldn’t want anyone going through this, it’s absolutely not worth it. Having those sort of feelings and that physical and spiritual connection with a woman is powerful, just make sure it’s with your wife.

My boyfriend and I had a toxic sexual relationship and life, I almost died and experienced a supernatural scary experience. We started watching bible movies to figure things out because something Happened and it scared me. Long story short we became born again Christians, healed our relationship, are now engaged and havent had sex in a year because we needed a reset and we now know how sacred and special sex is supposed to be. All this to say GOD can fix and heal anything if you trust in HIM.

No, but we were going to have to if things didn't change. We started praying and asking Jesus to come into this relationship to heal it and he has in a big way and we still pray for our relationship every day. Getting married next month! GOD IS GOOD!

You outlining that sin causes something to die hit my heart so hard. I can testify that its true. Though attending a catholic church and identifying as "Christian"
my husband and I were living in an unhappy and unhealthy marriage. The details arent important but we both began living in unrepentant sin.
Then suddenly..without any notice at all..i didnt recognize my self anymore.. it was as if the me I was, had died.
id become sexually enslaved, losing my self in the process. id always been known as a loving, optimistic, patient, and merciful ( im a hospice nurse) person, but I was now quick tempered, angry, restless, merciless, joyless, self seeking, and cynical. And instead of living for my kids, i lived for my self...spending hours at the gym, obsessed w my body and appearance.
I remember crying, unable to console my self begging " the universe" ( since i no longer talked to God) why have i changed?! Where has the ghost of who i was gone??!
After truly seeking God, i came to understand that Jesus IS the truth and was in the blink of an eye, born again and totally changed. Seeing things clearly, i realized that despite feeling justified, i was deeply engrossed in sin. The Lord revealed Himself to both of us the same week, and we both confessed and repented.
The Lord has completely renewed me in every way, including returning my peace, joy, patience, and mercy. I have forgiven my husband for his deception and he has forgiven me for mine. And the Lord has even re -made our marriage into an amazing walk together... full of love, joy, trust, and comfort. ❤
Thank you so much for making this video. I just recently ended a 4 year relationship and our relationship was filled with immense sexual sin. Including having sex without being married and both of us being addicted to p*rn (but we kept it secret from each other). Now that we are no longer together, I have decided to wait until marriage because I experienced firsthand the toxicity of sexual immorality. I am praying for those who are currently struggling with this sin and I encourage everyone to pray to God about it and repent earnestly and honestly. Don't be afraid to talk to God about it. God is patient and kind. Fill your heart with the Spirit and his word DAILY. As time goes on, you will build strength in fighting temptation whether you struggle with lust, p*rn, or other forms of sexual immorality. God gives you strength. This is amazing, we and my partner struggled with this before but our faith in God has became stronger. We also decided that it is the right decision to get married early because that is one of the reason. We want our relationship to accepted by God and want to do it right. The flip side of that coin is that is what makes sexual sin so dangerous. Ultimately, there needs to be times where we are alone. Yet sexual sin most often corrupts our alone time. Which robs from us time to learn and grow and deeply study. It robs the very safety of our thoughts. David could’ve been at battle but he also could’ve been planning for the war, dealing with his administrative duties as king in the break he had from

I heard it explained like this: you're at a store, and you get a chocolate bar. You REALLY want this chocolate bar, so you eat it right there in the grocery store aisle. Now, you go to the check-out aisle with the empty candy wrapper. You're still paying for it, but it's just an empty wrapper. It's embarrassing because it shows you didn't have patience.
My best lessons on this topic were from men who did have sex before marriage, and told us how it's not worth it, and how they regretted it. They were able to speak from experience and caution me against it.
I see it more like this: Marriage is a covenant of love between two people declared before God. Throughout the Bible starting from Abel, we are told to give to God the best of what we have: possessions, effort, intentions, etc. Remember "Love God with all your mindheartsoulstrength"? So how can we give God the best of who we ARE during the covenant If we're already tainted with lust? That violates Rom 12:1-2.
But I like your analogy better.
That is a really screwed up analogy. And also I think a degrades people in a very inaccurate light. When my wife had sex with me before we got married she and I never felt like an empty wrapper. It was incredible, it was compassionate, and it felt safe. And having sex before marriage emotionally helped us both to understand that we were right for each other. Of course relationships are complex and there's other aspects to it. What are sexual compatibility was confirmed without a doubt. And that really helps us to build and grow together.
Well another analogy is:
Say you go to a car dealership to buy a car. Who in their right mind would purchase a vehicle without going for a test drive?
This entire "sex before marriage is wrong" debate is nothing but a matter of ethics. Ethics are a matter of perspective.
There is no right or wrong when it comes to ethics, look up the trolley problem to understand why.

If you like literature, try reading the first part of Goethe’s play Faust, it changed my view on sins.

My wife and I saved ourselves for each other and our wedding day. After feeling the intense physical and emotional connection this created, we both can’t imagine doing it different than God’s way.

Like, if you ever feel tempted by something, you stop whatever you're doing, shut down those thoughts, pray for deliverance and then distract yourself with something more wholesome like watching a kids' movie. Maybe surrounding yourself with friends and family could help too, bc then you're not in private and can't do anything. Yeah well while that's fine and dandy some of us don't have much of a say; sadly I was molested as a child (9yrs old) so there's that. And like too many neglected and assaulted children I grew up and too quickly dabbled into sexual promiscuity through my late teens and throughout my 20s etc. By the grace of God I have been forgiven and delivered (am now in my 30s).
It all starts in the home, teaching the importance of abstinence and also to keep kids safe too. So please protect your kids if you got 'em. Don't discount any child who bravely shares their relative touched them. Listen to them and protect them. God bless.

I really love the way you explain things and especially about this topic, I myself have tried to explain to my friends why sex before marriage is a sin and why I’m saving myself for marriage and by far i find it be the most difficult thing to explain.
What I have come to understand from how my friends and family have described it and by observing how it has affected other peoples lives is this:
By having sex, you bond yourself emotionally and spiritually with the person. In marriage, It is meant to be a tool to help eachother reach greater heights while also to honor god. It is something that brings comfort but that should be something intimate and for one person only at a time. It is something you use to better open up your heart and to humble yourself to eachother.
I noticed that people who have had sex with many different partners tend to devalue it and In a way their hearts grow colder to it once it becomes something you treat very casually. Because once you don’t put a limit to it, what does it even become? Especially when people abuse it and it just becomes a thing for only pleasure out of one’s self egotistical interest. It starts losing its value for bonding.
Now I don’t want to say this as a way to judge and condemn people but sex can to stuff to your mind that can be scary if you let it.
On another page, there are those who only have 1 partner at a time and that have had a relationship that has lasted years but still unwed. On that note I myself am a bit unsure. It is definitely not as severe as having had sex with many different people but still it lacks that stability and security that a marriage can offer.
This is definitely a topic that I would like to read on more. I pray that I may find more information from the Bible to better understand why sex before marriage is a sin.
Love this!!!! There are tons of literature out there just make sure they use the Bible as reference throughout other than that it's a self-help book and that can be iffy. A good book that helped my daughter was kiss the girls and made them cry by Lisa bevere. For my son, he liked who moved the goalpost by Bob gresh. Anything that you read, put it up against the Word of God to make sure it's true.

The reason why God didn’t want us to sleep with someone before marriage is because that when you sleep with someone, it’s not just a physical bond it is a soul bond. You are creating a soul tie with someone. Has anyone ever wondered how it is that when they get into a relationship with someone and they have sex with them usually, if it’s before marriage, that relationship will fail, and because you have created a soul with that person that break up is going to almost kill you emotionally And usually when that person that you broke up with and rebounds, you were going to feel something in your heart and deep in your soul during the time at that person goes and rebounds, because they are tying their soul to somebody else as they have already been tied to you. Also, you have a tie with someone that you broke up with that is the reason as to why it is harder for somebody to move on because months years on down the road they are still thinking about that person and still have feelings for that person. That is why God did not want us to have sex before marriage because he did not want us to feel the pain of break ups.

This is my current struggle. I was a virgin until I was 21 years old. I’m now 24 and been in a relationship with someone who came to me celibate for over 7 years. For me as a young Christian it was a lot simpler then this. I just read a bunch of statistics and realized it's not worth the risk.
1. Statistics show people who have sex outside of marriage are far more likely to get divorce.
2. They also show there are no 100% safe protections when it comes to sex. In other words, you likely will either conceive a child you are not ready for, or you'll get STDs at least.
3. For vast majority oxytosis is released less and less when you switch partners. In other words, you'll ruin your future sex life by engaging in sex before marriage.
In short: Abstain.
