I actually hate how woods are made to look creepy. I have very rarely felt creeped out in woodland. I recced a walk once on my own and only started to get freaked because I hadn't passed a soul the entire 2 hours and the forest seemed to be nevereending.
Brilliant video mate. I've been to Candleston castle and the surrounding area many times, A few times at night too, tried to capture any ghostly activity on camera.
Yes, it is a spooky place, we used to cycle over there as kids and dare each other to go in the dark room by the stairs, the room wasn't gated off back then.
@@flydriveexplore It actually froze last night and has been pouring lol My brother is currently stuck in the snow about 30 minutes away from us. (Pretty unusual for this area) Anyways, saved lots of your other videos to check out! My family is Welsh (I’m a redhead named Bryn), so it’s fascinating to see all these beautiful spots and all the history! Excited to check out more! 😊
Interesting video. I went to England years ago back in the 1990s. And had two encounters of ghosts. One in the tower of London and the other one in winchester cathedral. I wasn't scared at all. They were friendly. They were two male ghosts. Your videos are great. Hope to see more soon 😀
Thanks for watching. We may do some more legends and stories as the evenings close in and autumn approaches. I'm surprised the ghost in the Tower of London can put up with all the visitors.
Love the videos, thanks Marcus. We'd never really thought of going to Porthcawl, but you've inspired us and we're coming down next month to do some of the walks you've filmed. Thanks again, Mike
Hello from the States. Enjoying all of your videos - walks thru Wales, eating fish ‘n’ chips, road trips, castles, ghost stories and so on. Now the number one thing on my bucket list is to travel to Wales and have some fish ‘n’ chips in a haunted castle. Stay well and be healthy.
Yes, you can do that. There's a nice country pub just 100 yards up the road from haunted Ogmore Castle. Also, not that far away is a castle called "New" castle which is 800 years old.
Went to Google maps. See the Pelican Inn near Ogmore Castle. Also, Southerndown Golf Club is across the road. And Porthcawl is nearby for some seaside walks. Haunted castle, fish ‘n’ chips and golf, sounds like a dream vacation. Starting to plan now. Thanks.
I've spent many a night alone the riverbank just down from the castle and surrounding area's found some nice surface finds beautiful places to hike thanks for sharing your videos
I love this place !! I just came across with this name Ogmore a few time very recently as I was googling places in Wales lately !! This scene looks like a scene from a movie of medieval times !!! I love the stepstones in the river ?? Pond ? Love it !! 👍👍💜💜💜💜🥁🎵🐉🎤🎶💞p.s.I believe the answer to your latest community post I just saw ...is this Ogmore 🏰 !!! Lol.
You should visit Caerfyrddin/Carmarthen mate, oldest town in Wales with a deep history. I know that there’s a haunted tour every so often that goes around the castle and in the underground tunnels.
Ogmore Castle was one of my local haunts, along with Merthyr Mawr Sand Dunes, stepping stones and swinging bridge. Anyway, many years ago, I had a tiny Fiat 900 camper with elevating roof and travelled far and wide in it, sleeping every other night or two at a motorway service station to get cleaned up and refill the water tank that was under the chassis (huge and took ages to fill). One day, I visited Ogmore Castle for the umpteenth time and decided to stay the night in my camper but not in the tiny car park, so I set up behind the stone garden wall of the house house alongside the castle, on the river bank. Had a lovely night sleep but was woke by police very early in the morning saying they had a complaint about me being there, thinking I was a traveller who might cause problems and forced me to move on. I ended up in a lay-by in a place called Red Roses.
Some very good memories in this area i used to walk there with friends too many times to mention . we all used to go as a family walk across the stepping stones to the old swinging bridge which was eventually replaced with a suspension type structure after the walk with the family always finish with a pint for Dad pop and crisps for us at the Pelican
The stepping stones are still there but the suspension bridge is useful when the tides is in. Yes, it's a really picturesque and intersting area for walking.
How do you take it in that haunted house. I can't stand anything haunted. My house is not haunted in anyway I don't tolerate noises, whisperings footsteps, things moving or disembodied spirits. Not even a squeak on a door. I'm sure it must be uncomfortable in that place?
@@dreamscott5913 I'm fine with it because I'm lucky enough to be pyschic. However it can be annoying when your busy doing things and they stand there in the doorway ...staring at you.
@@flydriveexplore It was built around 1937 to house British Steel workers. It was part of Park Farm land in the 19th century(Park Farm is still standing and located on Park Street) The ghosts in my house are of different centuries and I believe the older ones are linked to the castle (a short walk from my home) My father believes the Battle of Glamorgan may have taken place upon Newbridge Fields so who knows. I did encounter a ghostly horse and rider in full battle armour down the fields a few years ago. I wouldn't be surprised if bones were found one day.
