My Stepfather took me and my Mum here in the late 70s, My Stepfather was evacuated to the Castle during the war, he recalled waking up in the night with a Templar Knight in chain mail armour and sword standing over him just watching him silently. He would Draw me a picture of him and recalled the story to me again a few years ago before he died. Thanks Nicola.
I live nearby ! I bought a table that once lived in the castle and for weeks afterward things in my house went a little strange. Knocks , bangs and whatever was on the table had moved by morning. I live alone !
@@ghostcasebook1266 Yep , still have the table and it sits at the bottom of the stairs in my cottage. It’s been uneventful for a few years now but the first few weeks….. always in the evening and overnight , it started as a ‘ polite ‘ tapping but by the time I would be in bed the ‘ raps ‘ would resonate up the stairs and wake me up. I investigated ( in sheer terror ) for the first few days and then did my best to ignore it. Why didn’t I get rid ? It’s a lovely table ! I did sleep with the light on and the radio playing for a while…..
@marciaspiegel5280 I moved to OR in 2021. At present I live in a house which I did not like when I moved in. For the first year or so, items seemed to vanish. I knew where I'd put these things, but they were nowhere to be found, and when I stumbled upon them again, they were in very odd places. This fed an active resentment I had toward the house, which, I think, made the activity worse. I did know, though,
I ENVY that you’re in ENGLAND & almost everywhere you go, you’re surrounded by history. Thank you for your post’s. They are awesome!!! Great narration!!!
For real! I envy the oodles of history England has. It makes America look like it has one page worth of history and England has a whole library’s worth. Envious and jealous but in a good way.
I'll always remember visiting the church at Napton Village in broad daylight and there was 3 of us. We could all hear the organ playing. Then I looked through the door glass and not a single person was inside. Door was unlocked we all walked in and the organ was well and truly locked up. None of us could explain that 🤔 The locals do say that two sisters apparitions have been seen kneeling down facing the Altar and wearing Tudor style clothing 👻 Loved your video I'm sure you were shocked I could tell from your voice. But I'm sure your ok now 👍
@@ghostcasebook1266 There is few clips on UA-cam but not a great deal of footage. It's Napton On The Hill and the church is called St Lawrence plus it overlooks the Oxford Canal. Napton meaning Northamptonshire in short. Great little village I hope one day you'll get a chance to look around 🤞 Two grey ladies kneel and pray from the Elizabethan Period not Tudor as I first thought but still a lovely church and surroundings.
@@greywebs1944 I live not too far away, near Broadwell and as a teenager would ghost hunt with friends during the summer holidays. One late afternoon we heard footsteps in the alter of napton church and it became VERY cold. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so suddenly uncomfortable somewhere before!
Absolutely brilliant as one earlier commenter said we get two wonderful threads here, history and supernatural encounters. I am especially taken by your willingness to report your own personal experiences, you have a real gift, these set your channel into the exceptional. Thank you for all you do
Wow thank you ever so much! I am so glad you enjoyed the video. It was an odd event and I’m still not sure if it is paranormal, or sounds travelling. I don’t know if I’ll ever know but I really appreciate your kind words. 🙏👻🙋♀️
@@ghostcasebook1266 you see this is what it makes it special a different! You don’t know and maybe never will I have learned through a long (thank God) of experience. My mother as I did encountered things that cannot ever be rationally explained and attempts to do so usually finish Jo in absurdity. Please, please keep doing what you are doing and as we pass St David’s day remember that we celts share a common and sacred history
Wow, thank you! I am so glad you enjoyed the video. A lot of material to cover to be honest but interesting that so many guides have witnessed things and goodness knows what that was with me in the crypt! 👻🙏🤔
@@ghostcasebook1266 you're quite welcome Nicola. I would love to be able to traverse across the pond to come and see these places. My love for history and the paranormal have been with me since I was a very small child. There's tons of places in the States but for some reason England, Scotland and Ireland have always had a pull on me that I can't explain. It almost feels like a NEED to go "Home" for atleast a visit
I’m glad that it’s not just myself that feels this way. For the longest time now, it’s like something calling my soul “to come home”. It’s the weirdest feeling and I can’t explain it. Born and raised in United States & haven’t ever traveled outside the States. I do know that I have English/Irish/Scots heritage.
When I was 9 I was taken to Thornton Abbey at Thornton Curtis in North Lincolnshire only the gatehouse still stands. I was walking round with my family and felt the sense of someone following me but no one was there. Later my family was talking to the owners at that time and they told us a monk had sold Abbey property so had been walled in in the church his remains had been found sitting at a table. He is apparently known to haunt the gatehouse. I am a sensitive but didn't know I was at that time, I was very scared of the place and when taken back I refused to go in
This was utterly brilliant, wow. The piccie at the end definitely shows a figure, no doubt about it. My word, your encounter definitely shook you up, not pleasant at all. Agree, the noise may have come from outside, but I believe it’s unlikely. What you experienced was undoubtedly supernatural and a little creepy too. Well, this was definitely worth the wait, superb Nicola, great work and thank you. 🙏👻♥️👍🙏📷🥂
Hey thank you Mr Grizzly. It was a bizarre incident and it was just as we were about to leave the castle. But so many stories from so many people right? I am so glad you enjoyed the video but you’re right, I was completely creeped out! 👻🙋♀️👍
Your picture gave me chills! Brilliant vlog about the ghosts! When we went there a few years ago we thought it was very cosy for a castle! Loved visiting there!❤
what a fab place. I've never been there....well worth a visit, I reckon. It sounds thoroughly haunted. Your experience was definitely a haunting. How fascinating. That poor guy chained up and starved to death.....how cruel. I loved the bit about the sceptics in the stables. Brilliant. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Glad you enjoyed it and thank you ever so much. Yes it is a place worth a visit for sure! If you do go, check the opening hours as they have winter season opening hours and summer season hours that are longer. It is a great please and you could include Bath, Glastonbury, Wells and all sorts of other locations too. There were so many stories, I almost didn’t know where to begin to be honest! 👻🙋♀️🙏
Wow, what you got was amazing! You can hear the "huh" in the one video! And that picture! It looks like someone is a suit who either looking at the ground, or looking at you. Creepy!
Thank you so much. I wish I had the footage to share; it would have been amazing, but I could only relay what happened in the crypt. I am not quite sure who that is or what that is in the picture but the castle is absolutely beautiful. 👻🙋♀️
Very interesting, I appreciate you sharing your encounter. I do believe you had a lecherous spirit who wanted you to know what he was doing! Horrid man in life I presume.
It really did feel like an invasion of my personal space, I’ll admit, and I think that’s what creeped me out so much to be honest! I am glad you enjoyed the video for sure 👻🙋♀️🙏
I've been through Dunster but never been to the castle would you believe! I know the story of the giant though. There's a similar one in St Michael's Mount in Cornwall. I don't have time right this moment to watch the entire video, but I definitely will later. Nice job Nicola, as always.
Another great video, I was very interested with your encounter and the magnificent picture of a ghost in the back room. Very rare indeed to get such a genuin pic of one. Very nice!
Looks good Nicola, heading off to lift weights now but it'll be the best video to relax with later this evening. Thanks for posting another great presentation 👍 😊. Best wishes from Ireland 🇮🇪
What a stunning location! Do you get to visit many of these locations you talk about? You would make a wonderful tour guide for both the historical and more macabre side of things.
You have done a great job at advertising the castle. I would love to go and see it. I did notice on the section of filming in the crypt, when you started tp pan right, there was an orb of light, drift from top left to bottom right of the frame, very quickly. I'm not a beleiver in orbs, but thought this was interesting.
Hello there this was such a great visit! You can hear in your voice how unsettling and scary it was. Even just recounting that horrible experience in the crypt I could hear the angst in your voice. Thank you so much. That ‘blooper’ at the end was just perfect! I’m still smiling 😆😊😊🙏🏻
Crikey that looks like you have caught a ghost in your video, thankyou for this, absolutely love the ghost stories, dunster castle , I’m going on a ghost hunt next Saturday at a castle , first one should be interesting
I see a definite face, wild gray hair and leaning sort of forward. It looks like an older man to me but could be an old woman. Looks like the figure is moving forward so you’d probably have noticed it in there if it was visible at the time. It’s an incredible picture. I think you’ve really caught something here! Well done on this entire video! It’s really terrific. I will watch it again! 👏👏👏😊
Just want to add, the picture of that figure creeped me out so much I don’t want to look at it again lol. The look on its face peering directly at you 😮
I definitely see the face too, and definitely see a man, but to me, it looked like he was looking at the floor in front of him a bit as he was walking forward, and maybe with his hands clasped behind his back? Like as though he was thinking over something, idk. I also thought his hair appeared blonde, so not an older man. Anyway, seemed pretty clear that was somebody, either way... freaky!
This brought back memories of when my family and I went to Dunster Castle. Although we never experienced anything spooky. Thank you Nicola I really enjoyed this video.
An excellent tour of Dunster Castle 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😊👍👍 I visited Dunster 2005….stayed at the pub….beautiful village indeed. Unfortunately the castle was not open at that time for renovations. Next time perhaps….to meet….the ghostly inhabitants….they often seek me out….when I visit old places….like Dunster castle 😄😉
Hey Redcoat and thank you so much. It is a very beautiful castle and really worth a day to look around. It is very hilly though. I’m sure you’ll meet some of your ghostly ancestors there 🙏👻🙋♀️
A very compelling experience in the crypt. I felt that I could hear breathy voices in the video that you took and thought those were what you were pointing out. But someone breathing in your ear is absolutely terrifying when there's no one present in the room.
There was some background noise from the crypt where they are playing stories on a sort of loop but that was way over on my right hand side, many metres from where I was, but the sound did pick up. It seriously scared me to bits, I’ll be honest. 👻🙏🙏
It's so often the case that these incidents "wipe" what was recorded and footage is lost, or equipment is drained of power and won't work. There's some electrical interference going on I believe.@@ghostcasebook1266
What an interesting video on this beautiful castle! Lots of paranormal energies there! Your experience in the crypt sounds terrifying! Some people are more open to sensing energies, as you probably are and also maybe why you are so interested in the ghost stories. BTW- you have the most beautiful voice and accent for narration. I've watched all your videos, I think this is the first time I've commented. Keep the videos coming - you do a great job. Thank you!
Wow thank you ever so much! I appreciate your kind comment for sure. It was such a strange event and we were pretty much leaving the castle but it really did make me jump! 👻🙏
How creepy/exciting to have your own experience in the crypt. Having a strange man breathing in your ear is not the most fun way to have a ghost encounter though. The photo of the library looks convincing too. It definitely looks like a figure in black leaning forward. Very cool 😀
I am stumped regarding both the crypt and the library picture. It doesn’t feel like a creepy place at all so that’s why the crypt thing affected me so much. The library picture is just strange. Is it a man or a woman? Does it have a face? 👻🤔🙏
@@ghostcasebook1266 my first impression that it is a man. Maybe these ghosts are not evil or malicious so they don’t project a negative aura. Kinda like the TV Show. 🤷🏻♂️
You’re welcome 😊 I was absolutely fine the whole time until that incident but you’ll enjoy the place for sure, I have no doubt. And please report back if you are willing 👻🙏🙋♀️
There is so much fascinating history in this castle and the documented history in the area that I believe there was a spirit in the room with you who decided to whisper in your ear. It does not seem to have been an evil spirit or you would have felt things of an evil nature. It is a beautiful and fascinating castle!
Wow you are very kind and I truly appreciate your generous gift. This will help me to really expand the channel and visit more locations for sure and bring you more content that I really hope you’ll enjoy. I really appreciate this Pink Carnations for sure 💐💐🌸
A really good video about the history of Dunster Castle but, having worked, and more importantly lived there for a year the ghost stories are just that, stories!!
Thank you for your comment; with it in mind, would you say, therefore, that I, William Wake, Faye Barringer- Capp, Jackie, the workmen, David Bryan, Julian Luttrell and June Copp are all lying? I wonder? 🤔
@@ghostcasebook1266 I would say that you having a UA-cam channel about ghosts make you predisposed to how you interpreted your experience...William was the Manager when I was there doing my university placement year and I spent lots of time with him, including a few time in his families apartment, and he loved the stories that were connected to Dunster Castle as they were all great marketing tools....I also knew Jackie and the grounds keeping team at the time. Many of the stories you have referred to in your video were ones that we all told to visitors and press enquiries and also leaned heavily into when we did the ghost tours around Hallowe'en. There is absolutely no verifiable, scientific evidence of ghosts and I can confirm that in the whole year I spent working (in all parts of the castle and grounds) and living onsite (the old nursery in the Salvin Tower was converted to a 2 bedroom apartment for student placements) I never once experienced, or heard of anyone else experiencing, anything inexplicable.
So you can’t answer my question, I’m ‘predisposed’, of course, nothing happened to you while you were there and therefore everyone else’s experiences don’t count because you don’t believe in ghosts. Got it. 👻
@@ghostcasebook1266 I don't believe in ghosts in the same way that I don't believe in deities, fairies, unicorns and the Loch Ness Monster....there is no verifiable scientific proof that they exist!! Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof...of which there is none!!
Yeah I’m still waiting for an answer to this question tbh. @ghostcasebook1266 • 1 day ago Thank you for your comment; with it in mind, would you say, therefore, that I, William Wake, Faye Barringer- Capp, Jackie, the workmen, David Bryan, Julian Luttrell and June Copp are all lying? I wonder
I adore your videos! I'm "across the pond" and I'd never heard of some of the locations that you have covered, and they're all very interesting. I especially enjoy the postcards - very nice! I don't think you were imagining the sigh and sniff that you heard, and I probably would have wet my pants if that happened to me! 😄😄Thank you for all your hard work and excellent content!
The photo of the person you captured is amazing and so very clear. What a great catch. I think you definitely heard a ghost in your ear. If the noise was from outside you'd have heard it with both ears and automatically your brain would be locating it. Creepy. At least he didn't pull your hair.
I know I’m glad he didn’t pull my hair. Can you imagine? The photo is a bit odd isn’t it? Grey skin? Is it a male or female or something else? I don’t know 👻🙏
Really great video about one of my favourite castles. I live Minehead and have been to the castle quite a few times and I never get bored of visiting, I just love all the history about the place. I learned some new stuff about the place that I didn’t know from your lovely video. Very interesting about your experience in the crypt, every time I have been to the crypt I haven’t been able to stay very long. On one visit I felt so sick when entering I just had to turn and get out, on another visit it felt like someone was standing right behind me but when I turned around no one was there. I also went on a ghost tour around the castle at night and the crypt was even worse, it had such an oppressive feeling nobody on the tour would enter. I also felt very uneasy and very cold in the stables and I also had a funny turn on oak staircase. 👻
Oh wow and thank you for sharing this. I have only been on this one occasion and I’d like to go back. I’m glad you enjoyed the history and the stories. That’s interesting about the crypt. I felt a bit strange in the library passage for no real reason. How odd 👻🙏
@@ghostcasebook1266 thank you. I do really enjoy your videos as I also love history as well as ghosts. I learned some new things I didn’t know about the history of the castle by your video. The library does have a creepy feel about it. Not sure I would like to live in the flat that is in the castle, too many ghosts to share the place with.🙂 Looking forward to your next video.
Hi Nicola, I've only now had the chance to watch your latest video and WOW what a video👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Daniel has seen it 3 times he said the video was outstanding and he was right God that photo of the old hag at the end made me sit up you might have captured a genuine photo of the paranormal there try and look into the photo even more if you could unbelievable brilliant video one of the best yet.Well done again angel looking forward to the next one. Dunster Castle is a marvel thank you for the tour and information! I was really impressed with your story, and thought I would share with you something that happened to me. I was asleep in an old hotel in the states, and at 4 am I heard footsteps. I thought it was someone outside the door. It was winter, I didn't feel like someone had opened a window, I was 5 floors up so no one could of broken in. It must be late night revelers going to bed. I then heard the steps again, and as I was groggy, thought...no...but all of a sudden, I felt the weight of a 200 lb man on my feet and legs holding me down....and I HEARD, but did not FEEL the breath of a man in my ear. I popped up out of bed so fast, and turned on the light, there was no one. My hair up on my arms, I grabbed my phone. The phone was not working at all. I looked down the hallway, there was a closet for coats...and the light was on. I grabbed a trash can, stomped down there to take a swing. I kicked opened the closet door, and swung....but there was only a swinging light bulb. ..... believe me .... I believe you. The sound of that entity breathing in my ear ... was very frightening. I BELIEVE YOU.
Thank you for sharing your story. That sounds quite an intense experience for sure! How bizarre. Glad you enjoyed the video and yes it was a very strange thing that happened to me there! 🙏👻
Omg, it definitely sounds to me that you had a very creepy experience. I also believe you're an empath and thats why you may see, hear or feel things Mr. GC or others may not. Saging and telling ethereal beings to not come with you is a necessity for intuitive empaths like us
Well he’s a scientist and he’s always looking for evidence and I can understand this. But my goodness the sound was so close to me, I really thought someone was right there or behind me. I can still hear it today. I wish he had heard it and I wish my iPad had captured it fully. perhaps in the future, I ll have more luck 👻🙋♀️🤔
@@ghostcasebook1266 that's awesome!! I love having someone around that does look at all things, especially the paranormal, with scientific knowledge and has an open mind. Yeah, that voice and sound was very close and I would have needed new britches tbh 😂😂
Great video! We visited last year, I was taking photos on my phone as we went round, including in the King Charles bedroom, but when I looked through the photos as we had a cup of tea in the cafe, I noticed that none of the photos from the bedroom were on my phone any more, they had all disappeared!!
Dunster Castle is a really fascinating building and we have to be thankful that Cromwell's order to "slight" the castle did not destroy it as at Kenilworth, Corfe and so many other important buildings. My great-great grandmother who was called Charlotte Escott-Wood was from Dunster and like so many country people at this time- the 1840s, had to leave as the agricultural depression forced folk to move to the Midlands and North where pretty grim job opportunities in the new factories were available. The trouble with these supernatural experiences is they happen unexpectedly and sometimes one is not really aware- as some of the experiences you recount, that something strange is happening until it is over. Some are very strange- and I certainly had one that took place over about 20 seconds which was utterly bizarre but at the time I knew it was happening. A very interesting film on a number of levels.
The gatehouse would have been flanked by walls that were all slighter but a lot of the red sandstone structures are much later, and in the 1860 there was a huge amount of remodelling. But yes, Kenilworth and Corfe were beyond recognition, sadly. Glad you enjoyed the video for sure 🙏👻🙋♀️
Just as you started the video 33:58, there is a distinct anomaly on your right, that actually has some color...I slowed the video down to 25% and watched it several times. There was someone or something there. I do believe you heard and felt what you described...if it was that close I don't believe it came from outside. Great video!! I wold love to visit there...thank you for sharing.
The two Charles' were just as terrible, Cromwell and the roundheads hijacking what would've been the English revolution and turning it into a personal dictatorship has been an absolute travesty for the entire planet. Had Cromwell not taken power instead of the working class, there would've been no liberal desire to return to monarchy, no British Empire, no USA, no WW1 (at least in any form we recognise)... Things would be wildly different, and most likely for the better.
It’s incredibly sad that the skeletons are still in the dungeon. They should be buried and a medium brought in to help them pass into the light if they are trapped here.
It's nearly Midnight on Sunday here in NZ, and at the very end of a lovely but also very busy weekend, I finally found the time to watch this video - and feel proper creeped out now, LOL! 😅 Great stuff too, of course! So thank you very much, Nicola! 😊👍 And you have my compassion around those incidents that had upset you while at that castle 😌🙏
@@ghostcasebook1266 - You're most welcome, Nicola 😊 Like I'd said before, one of the few things I've been missing here in NZ since my move from Germany is castles and fortresses 😭 And Germany is chocker with them! (I didn't actually cry just then, I admit 😅) So it's been really lovely to also get to see all the castles and fortresses _you_ have documented so far, on top of hearing all their ghost stories 😊 By the way, I've meanwhile asked my Melburnian friend if she knows about any haunted locations there, and she mentioned the Old Melbourne Gaol and Flinders Street Station. She may come up with some more after chatting with her hubby! 😉👍 And I'd once had a ghost getting very close also to _me_ , at my workplace eight, nine years ago, in our upstairs storage space: Some of my workmates and our store manager had already informed me about him a while ago and also had said that he was friendly, but he still spooked me quite a bit by slightly touching my hair one afternoon, while I was rummaging through boxes with electronic parts 😅
Thank you so much and I’m really glad you are enjoying the castles and locations that I have covered so far. There will be more. Thank you for talking to your friend in Melbourne and I have heard a bit about Flinders Street station, but not about the Gaol so I will look into that. I was in Melbourne in 2019 and I liked it a lot. Wow that’s a bit creepy that you were touched on the head. Sounds like the crypt. Thank goodness I wasn’t touched on the head as I might look a bit crackers trying to Karate chop an invisible person! 👻🙏🙋♀️😳
We have visited dunster castle many times, unfortunately we haven't had any encounters with spirit's although it did feel like someone was watching you. Definitely going back after watching your video. Brilliant thanks 🙏
I didn’t like the library passage at all. I have no idea why. It is a lovely castle but so hilly! I’m glad you enjoyed it and have you been in the crypt? It didn’t feel oppressive at all in there but that incident really got me! 🙏👻🙋♀️
I enjoy your presentation and stories about places I may or may not ever get a chance to visit for myself. I would like to mention that the experience you had with the breathy sounds in your ear can never really be stamped as 100% real by anyone but you should be glad to have had this happen to you,, it's your own little secret reach into something most never will know and you don't ever feel as if you need to get validation from others because there will be those that will try to make you dismiss it for whatever reason.
It was completely bizarre. Very odd and it was just next to me. I knew immediately it was male. No doubt. But it made me jump so much! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and journeys to a new place for sure.👻🙏
It is beautiful. Stunningly beautiful. If I could I would love to live there, ghosts or no ghosts. And, even if nobody else is there you are never alone. Someone or something is always with you. I just can't get over how beautiful it is. And so much history lies within.
Another amazing video! Your experience is even creepier than actually seeing something but that picture you took is very interesting too. Thanks for another great video and for sharing your story.
I absolutely loved this video! The rich history of this place is definitely worth preserving and visiting. Hope I get to someday. I actually got chills while watching it, especially when you mentioned the experience of the man in the drawing room with the little girl and the grey lady. But I must say, I did laugh out loud when you made the breathing and sniffing sounds, as I thought of someone becoming a pervert after dying 😂😅.
I know it was so strange and definitely felt a bit perverse for sure! Yes the stories from the guides were very interesting. 🙏👻 I’m glad you enjoyed the video too.
Sorry I'm late, this was another lovely and interesting video, as always. Built in the 1420s, wow! That was the time of the Plantagenets, if I'm not mistaken. I wish we had buildings that old here in Australia.
This is amazing and terrifying! Plus, a full on history tutorial. Something for everyone! That lone foot in the blue kitchen, tho. that terrified a Colonel. Yikes.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you ever so much for your kind words. Yes quite a bit of history but I felt I needed to include this along with the ghosties! 👻🙏
hello again. What a weird experience you have had that's this beautiful place, 40:16 Was a really good catch, It almost looks like somebody dressed in housekeepers clothes from back in the day. Keep up the good work I really love your channel it's factual but spooky,💜🙏💜🙏💜
Interesting history and spooky ghost stories! 👻That's a creepy experience you had in the crypt, Nicola. 😱 I've only had one paranormal experience. It was like out of the movies. A cold spot and I could see my breath. I instantly felt bad vibes. I was then informed the ghost of a woman appeared in that spot.👻
@@ghostcasebook1266 You're welcome. It freaked me out! I felt very uneasy and had to leave. It was my cousin's bedroom. She told me the ghost of a woman appears at night. She smiles at her then vanishes. 👻They sold the house and moved out. lol!
I think you had a supernatural experience for sure! Very creepy! I think the photo you got of an old woman is incredible!! I will definitely visit this castle when I travel to England next June (2025) 🎉
Oh definitely visit it and you could combine it with Bath, Bristol and Devon, Cornwall etc. There’s lots to see in the area and I’ll cover more from the region in future for sure. But check the opening hours and you may find you’ll need a whole day for the castle, as well as the lovely village of Dunster that you can walk to from the castle. They sell lovely pasties there 👻🙏🙋♀️
Wow Nicola what a creepy castle! Not sure I would like to stay there over night, or would I 🤔 😁 That must have been such a unnerving experience you had. Being sniffed by a lecherous ghost!! 😬 Hopefully the experience hasn't unsettled you too much. I must try go there one day. Brilliant video so well done. Looking forward to the next. Hope you and yours are all well. Thank you 😁👻 😬😁
What great castle's you pick to visit ive never been to Dunster but it looks fabulous and much to see and hear. I think i would have been scared to hear something/ one breathing heavy in my ear too. Thanks for taking us around this super place
You are very welcome Noreen and I hope you feel you’ve had a bit of a tour of it in a ghostly way for sure. It is fantastic but hilly and a big place! I love it though 🙏👻🙋♀️
Beautiful place. Glad you got to visit, and yes the breath on your ear and sniffing would most certainly be spooky. The pic with the figure past the rope is frightening.
hi, i just want you to know i’ve been binge watching your videos the past week and i find your way of presenting the stories and also the historical context extremely interesting, you also have a very nice voice and i find your videos oddly relaxing, may i as if you could cover some more ghost stories in the north east? i know you have covered york but there is such an interesting history and a plethora of haunting in both north yorkshire and country durham, i recommend looking into the little drummer boy of richmond.
I will be covering more locations including the North east for sure as well as Cumbria and other places too. I have covered York and there is a Sunderland story in my Halloween 2023 video. I won’t forget you 👻🙏
In the video you filmed, I thought I heard whispers...and at least one person speaking softly. Weird. I believe you honestly had an experience in the Crypt. The photograph you shared gave me the chills. I do believe you captured a spirit. I have only seen one ghost/spirit in my life and fortunately for me I had at least two adults and 7 kids taking a tour of the Battleship TEXAS while I was a public school teacher. We all saw the same misty shape move from left to right thru a bulkhead on the ship. No one had an explanation. Thanks for a great video.
You are very welcome. In the bay room there is some external noise from a display that is on the other side of the crypt which does involve people speaking, but it didn’t include a person breathing out or sniffing! I’m not sure what the picture shows; a person with grey looking skin? It’s all a bit strange. Thank you for sharing your experience and interesting that it was seen by a group too. How odd? 👻🙏
Just near the end of your long recording you can hear a strange noise like breathing out . I have listened to it many times and I'm sure there's a male breathing out there are also two people talking very quietly a male and a female who sound very posh but he's taking longer. Thanks for an amazing show and I have liked and subbed and cannot wait to see other shows.
Thank you for subscribing and welcome. There is some background noise which is from the other side of the crypt where they are playing stories on a loop but the sniff and the breathing were just next to my left ear and completely freaked me out! 👻🙏🙋♀️
Hiya Nicola, I enjoyed this vlog on Dunster Castle, I had never heard of it before watching this vlog, I watched it twice, say Nicola you'll have to come to Muncaster Castle, its near Sellafield Nuclear Plant in Cumbria, the resident ghost there is called Tom Fool, Jennings brewery has an ale called Tom Fool, in this vlog, Nicola, I like the young girl being constantly chased by her mother, plus the old woman living in the front room, she seems really nice, thanks for the upload Nicola, This is Paul, In Whitehaven, Cumbria, England
Fantastic video, the sniffer ghost needs to learn some manners though, and the photo of the figure you captured is so interesting!! Also, not sure if it was the glare of the light from the window, but when you're filming the room at 37:57 I can see a light/mist move from the right to the left? It's probably just glare but wondered if anyone else had seen this? Can't wait for the next one!
Glad you enjoyed it and I’ll have to go back and look at this. It’s amazing ho many things others spot and I am oblivious to it because I’m including it in a video, so thank you very much for sure 👻🙋♀️😸
Smashing video, both of the ghosts and the history of the castle. I love your videos, they are so clearly set out and explained. It’s like having my own private tour guide! How frightening and creepy your experience was! To hear a breath and a sniff so close, oh so unnerving. 😱
Thank you for sharing! I love to learn about historical hauntings, especially in the UK. I love all the old castles and other buildings. The history is fascinating! 😊🎃👻💀
This was fantastic, thanks for sharing it! Also it seems the entity you encountered didn’t want you to have that footage! The other photo with the figure in it is really spooky.😮
This was fascinating, and you do such a great job with filming and narration. I believe you experienced something paranormal with the breathing in your ear. When I was a teenager, I heard my first name called clear as a bell - also in my left ear - and there was absolutely nobody around - and it wasn't said across the room, it was right in my ear. The voice was friendly, so while it was extraordinary, it wasn't scary. Perhaps you were picking up on the personality of the breather, and you instinctively felt chilled?
It was one of the strangest things I think I have ever experienced. Had nothing happened, I would have just said so. I’ve been to a number of places that have reputations of being haunted and nothing has happened but this one really got to me! Thank you for your kind words 🙋♀️👻🙏
Another excellent video!! I really enjoy your videos, such a great mixture of ghost stories and history!! Thank you for all the hard work you put into these for us!!🙂🙂
Hi Nicola awesome live ghost stories video I enjoyed it. Benjamin and I are enjoying the video.. how are you doing? I'm doing well and so is my cat Benjamin. Have a great day see you next video 😊 next video in the future could you do Canterbury Cathedral. I heard it's haunted 👻 also with lots of ghosts
And there are certainly cats at Canterbury Cathedral To: @MichelleBruce-lo4oc There is a very cute and funny cat and priest video at Canterbury. The canon or whatever the correct term is having tea and kitty just goes right under his robes! Well, you know how Cat’s are!🥰
38:16;that façade just reminds me of Hampton Court,I just can't get away from that. I love Hampton Court. Odd to think that in 1415 during the Battle of Agincourt,it was almost a century before it even existed! Should that shock me? I dunno. But IT DOES.🤷♂️

He would Draw me a picture of him and recalled the story to me again a few years ago before he died. Thanks Nicola.

It seems to that the Knight was protecting your stepfather. Nonetheless it must have been terrifying.

I live nearby ! I bought a table that once lived in the castle and for weeks afterward things in my house went a little strange. Knocks , bangs and whatever was on the table had moved by morning. I live alone !
Oh good grief that sounds bizarre. Do you still have the table and did these events scare you? Thank you for sharing this with us 👻🙋♀️
@@ghostcasebook1266 Yep , still have the table and it sits at the bottom of the stairs in my cottage.
Did you cut a deal with the ghost?
Dang!!
@marciaspiegel5280
I moved to OR in 2021.

That photo of the figure behind the rope is quite extraordinary. Also, your experience with the 'sniffing man'...creepy!
Yes I did not see the figure at all until I made the video. The sniffing incident in the crypt was very strange! 😳👻
I got goosebumps when I watched the footage of the clip in the crypt! How strange and creepy it is!!
But I'm sure your ok now 👍
Wow that’s very interesting and I will have to look into this location for sure. 👻🙏🙋♀️
@@ghostcasebook1266 There is few clips on UA-cam but not a great deal of footage. It's Napton On The Hill and the church is called St Lawrence plus it overlooks the Oxford Canal. You are so welcome and thank you ever so much 👻🙋♀️🙏
@@ghostcasebook1266 you're quite welcome Nicola.

You have done a great job at advertising the castle. I would love to go and see it. I did notice on the section of filming in the crypt, when you started tp pan right, there was an orb of light, drift from top left to bottom right of the frame, very quickly. Glad you enjoyed it and I honestly don’t know what or who that was to be honest? Does it even have a face Sue? I do not know 👻🙋♀️👍
I see a definite face, wild gray hair and leaning sort of forward.
The look on its face peering directly at you 😮
It is a bit weird. I wasn’t sure if it even has a proper face? 🤔

That one gave me the BIG chikkinskin 🐓
What an interesting video on this beautiful castle! Lots of paranormal energies there! Your experience in the crypt sounds terrifying! Some people are more open to sensing energies, as you probably are and also maybe why you are so interested in the ghost stories.
BTW- you have the most beautiful voice and accent for narration. I've watched all your videos, I think this is the first time I've commented. Keep the videos coming - you do a great job. Thank you!

Wow that is very interesting that photos were missing. How odd 👻🙏
Thank you so much. I will have to go back and have a look at that for sure! It is easy for me to miss things! 👻🙋♀️🙏
Cromwell was an evil man. When the Restoration came, just about everyone was happy to see an end to him 😅
Yes. Cromwell is about at the top of my list of despicable historical figures.
I really enjoy each episode. Pleasant and succinct narration. Fascinating histories. Thank you, again
Glad you enjoyed it and thank you ever so much for your kind comment. 👻🙏
It’s incredibly sad that the skeletons are still in the dungeon. They should be buried and a medium brought in to help them pass into the light if they are trapped here.
My goodness ive discovered another hr of pure joy thanks to this narrator 😘
Wow, thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video and my narration. I try 👻🙋♀️
If I got to walk down that grand staircase, I wouldn't leave after death either ❤❤❤!
I know, the carving is so impressive. It is a very opulent place for sure. 👻🙏
It's nearly Midnight on Sunday here in NZ, and at the very end of a lovely but also very busy weekend, I finally found the time to watch this video - and feel proper creeped out now, LOL! 😅
Great stuff too, of course! So thank you very much, Nicola!
😊👍
And you have my compassion around those incidents that had upset you while at that castle 😌🙏
Thank you so much and I’m glad you enjoyed the video. It is a great castle, a bit of a hidden gem really! 🙏👻🙋♀️
@@ghostcasebook1266 - You're most welcome, Nicola 😊 Like I'd said before, one of the few things I've been missing here in NZ since my move from Germany is castles and fortresses 😭 And Germany is chocker with them! (I didn't actually cry just then, I admit 😅) So it's been really lovely to also get to see all the castles and fortresses _you_ have documented so far, on top of hearing all their ghost stories 😊
By the way, I've meanwhile asked my Melburnian friend if she knows about any haunted locations there, and she mentioned the Old Melbourne Gaol and Flinders Street Station. She may come up with some more after chatting with her hubby! 😉👍
And I'd once had a ghost getting very close also to _me_ , at my workplace eight, nine years ago, in our upstairs storage space: Some of my workmates and our store manager had already informed me about him a while ago and also had said that he was friendly, but he still spooked me quite a bit by slightly touching my hair one afternoon, while I was rummaging through boxes with electronic parts 😅
A ghost sniffing on a woman's neck? Not during the first date buddy 😤
Ha ha I love this! 👻
It is beautiful. Stunningly beautiful. If I could I would love to live there, ghosts or no ghosts. And, even if nobody else is there you are never alone. Someone or something is always with you. I just can't get over how beautiful it is. And so much history lies within.
Thank you and absolutely it is packed with history. I loved it for sure. 👻🙏
Another amazing video! Your experience is even creepier than actually seeing something but that picture you took is very interesting too. Thanks for another great video and for sharing your story.
Glad you enjoyed it! You are very welcome 👻🙏🙋♀️
To @mayelinedelossantos1895: I would guess the nasty spirit man was a pervert when he lived and stayed the same after he died😂😂😅
Sorry I'm late, this was another lovely and interesting video, as always. Built in the 1420s, wow! That was the time of the Plantagenets, if I'm not mistaken. I wish we had buildings that old here in Australia.
Hello and thank you so much for watching. Yes Dunster is a very historic place but Australia also has a unique history too 👻🙏🙋♀️
This is amazing and terrifying!
What a weird experience you have had that's this beautiful place,
40:16 Was a really good catch,
It almost looks like somebody dressed in housekeepers clothes from back in the day.
Keep up the good work I really love your channel it's factual but spooky,💜🙏💜🙏💜
Thank you and glad you enjoy the videos. It is a beautiful castle for sure but it is slightly creepy at the same time. 🙏👻
@@ghostcasebook1266 👻💜👻
Amazing video, very well narrated and coreographed. The photos and footage are really telling and well thought out. Waiting for more from you, thanks.
Oh thank you ever so much indeed! I really appreciate this so much. 👻🙏
Interesting history and spooky ghost stories! 👻That's a creepy experience you had in the crypt, Nicola. 😱
I've only had one paranormal experience. It was like out of the movies. A cold spot and I could see my breath.
I instantly felt bad vibes. I was then informed the ghost of a woman appeared in that spot.👻
Wow Don thank you for sharing this. That sounds like an amazing thing to encounter. Did it scare you or did it seem harmless? 🤔👻🙏
@@ghostcasebook1266 You're welcome. It freaked me out! I felt very uneasy and had to leave.
It was my cousin's bedroom. She told me the ghost of a woman appears at night. She smiles
at her then vanishes. 👻They sold the house and moved out. lol!
You must go back and have two cameras. This was fantastic!! Thanks
Thank you so much. It was a strange but beautiful place. 👻🙏
Thank you 😁👻 😬😁
Glad you enjoyed it. It was a very creepy and unexpected incident to be honest Linda! Very odd 🤔👻
Another great video. Creepy personal experience and that photo with the figure in it is definitely intriguing.
Glad you enjoyed it and yes, strange things are afoot at Dunster, I think! 👻🙏🙋♀️
Thanks for watching and the crypt was bizarre. Yes that figure is a bit odd too. 🙏👻
Love your channel! ❤ The spirits that live in these wonderful historic cities, towns, and properties are fascinating to me. ❤❤😊
Glad you like them! Thank you ever so much Contessa 👻🙏🙋♀️
Thank for this beautifully filmed and very interesting documentary! I am very fond of Dunster Castle.
Yes, I loved making it and Dunster really is a bit of a hidden gem really! A very haunted one, maybe! 👻🙏
hi, i just want you to know i’ve been binge watching your videos the past week and i find your way of presenting the stories and also the historical context extremely interesting, you also have a very nice voice and i find your videos oddly relaxing, may i as if you could cover some more ghost stories in the north east? i know you have covered york but there is such an interesting history and a plethora of haunting in both north yorkshire and country durham, i recommend looking into the little drummer boy of richmond.
I will be covering more locations including the North east for sure as well as Cumbria and other places too. I have covered York and there is a Sunderland story in my Halloween 2023 video. I won’t forget you 👻🙏
Wow! All your videos are treasures, but this is one of your best!
Wow, thank you! It really is a bit of a hidden gem that many people have not heard of but my word there are so many stories! Thank you so much 🙏🙋♀️👻
In the video you filmed, I thought I heard whispers...and at least one person speaking softly.
How odd? 👻🙏
I have been very much waiting for this one!!😊
Hope you like it!
Im enjoying your channel! Neat to hear ghost stories from Europe, as always!
Glad you like them! Thank you ever so much for watching 👻🙏🙋♀️
Oh that is creepy! Wonderful stories and footage, as always. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it 👻
congrats on the full figure apparition! It's so good! Ghost Adventures could never!
Great video, and love your presentation style. Yes that photo at the end looks very interesting. I need to visit!
You should! It is a lovely place for sure. 👻🙏
Thank you Paul and I hope you’re really well. I do plan to cover Muncaster for sure. I’m glad you enjoyed Dunster castle too 👻🙏🙋♀️
@@ghostcasebook1266 Hiya Nicola, I'm really well, cant wait for your next upload
Glad you enjoyed it and thank you ever so much. Yes the crypt was not nice to be honest. It felt very deliberate! 👻🙏
Thank you for sharing!
I love to learn about historical hauntings, especially in the UK. I love all the old castles and other buildings. The history is fascinating!
😊🎃👻💀
Glad you enjoyed the video and the history for sure! 🙏👻
Brilliant again Nic-oh-la.
Thanks.
Keep safe and well and I can't wait for your next vid whenever and whatever it is.

Glad you enjoyed it and thank you Ian. I am glad you are looking forward to the next one too 🙏🙋♀️👻
Another fantastic video. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! 👻🙏
I love beautiful Dunster Castle and you've done a fantastic video, thank you.
Poor Mr. G.C. you bit his head right off. Lol.
Glad you enjoyed it! Ah he’s ok I promise! 👻🙏
@@ghostcasebook1266 Lol.
Nicola , this is a brilliant castle which I would love to visit, thank you for your great work, love Kim xx
You are very welcome Kim, thank you 🙏👻🙋♀️
This was fantastic, thanks for sharing it! Also it seems the entity you encountered didn’t want you to have that footage! The other photo with the figure in it is really spooky.😮
Glad you enjoyed it! I think you are right. I was so annoyed though! Bizarre 🙏👻
Thank you for the amazing video and as always thank you for the history of the castle. Keep up the great work.
Thank you so much for watching and I am so glad you enjoyed the video 🙏👻🙋♀️
Never heard of that castle before. Thanks for another great video.
Glad you enjoyed it Clifford. It is a beautiful property but it scared me to bits at the end to be honest x👻🙋♀️
@@ghostcasebook1266 Totally understand that. That is way to close for comfort.Footage missing is very eerie.
Another excellent video!! I really enjoy your videos, such a great mixture of ghost stories and history!! Thank you for all the hard work you put into these for us!!🙂🙂
You are very welcome Mary and I am so glad you enjoyed the video 👻🙏🙋♀️
Perfect editing and well chosen images...a joy !
Tom, thank you. You are very kind and I appreciate your kind words for sure 👻🙋♀️🙏
Glad you enjoyed and I’m good thanks. Hope little Benjamin and you are really well for sure 👻🙋♀️🙏😸
And there are certainly cats at Canterbury Cathedral To: @MichelleBruce-lo4oc There is a very cute and funny cat and priest video at Canterbury. The canon or whatever the correct term is having tea and kitty just goes right under his robes! Well, you know how Cat’s are!🥰
Great vid. i think you heard something . keep up the good work
Well I definitely heard something but who or what it was is a mystery, I suppose 🙏👻🙋♀️
