The institute is the stupids faction in any fallout game..they make literately no sense, ig yea the enclave was sorta the same but they can chalk it down to ideology
The Institute have no goals, no morals, no ideology, but that's the whole point. They're science without restraint, progress without purpose. In a way, they're the perfect antagonists to the Brotherhood.

Bio-weapons, Hazmat suit power armors, the quest where they give you your spouse's clone (Finally I get rewarded for customizing my wife for 3 hours!!!), the cool expeditionary suit, etc etc. Even they cut a holotape that answers why they make synths in the first place lol.
