    I've been taking 300mg of DIM since 2019. Every morning. I haven't had any issues at all with estrogen or hair loss or any of the ailments in the comments below. Last year I got on TRT therapy and I do not take the astrazole they give me with the injections. I continued taking DIM like I always have. If you are a male and you get a big spike in estrogen you will know it. It happened to me when I first started the TRT. I got a lot of water weight gain and my face swelled up to the point people were making comments. I waited it out and it went away after a couple of weeks and I haven't had any problems since. I gained about 10lbs when that happened. It was the 2nd month of TRT.

    • @JasonChurch1992
      @JasonChurch1992 Рік тому +2

      You may be fine, but note that DIM is not a replacement for astrazole and do not work the same way in your body. Make sure your doing your labs. If you E2 is below 30 (>15) with good libido and sexual functions, you are doing great. Some guys are lucky and don't need astrazole, but others like me require it to keep my E2 in check.

      Everyone’s different, 25 mg daily Is the upper rage of what you get naturally “web md -> Diindolylmethane is commonly consumed in foods. A typical diet supplies 2-24 mg of diindolylmethane daily. It is possibly safe for most people when taken in doses up to 150 mg daily for up to 1 year. The most common side effects include headache, nausea, vomiting, gas, and diarrhea.” It’s hard to find doses under 100 mg, I would start at 100 mg a day and take for a month before you consider the higher doses used for cancer and prostate issues. The 300 mg dim dosage for me was much to high resulting in lower libido and insomnia. So start low and wait 4 weeks before modifying your dose. I take 50mg per day

      have you guys even bothered to invest the time to carefully and thoroughly listen on the podcast in that website?
      yes, they did classify it as an "testosterone blocker" because it is an ANDROGEN blocker higher than 100mg. Meaning, doses higher tha 100mg of DIM (diindolylmethane) would serve as an androgen blocker which blocks a certain percentage of both testosterone and estrogen.
      They can't easily and simply classify DIM as a compound that is in level of aromatase inhibitors because it is not entirely an aromatase inhibitor. DIM increases 2 hydroxyestrone (good estrogen) and decreases the 16-alphahydroxyestrone (bad estrogen). And it also acts an aromatase inhibitor but not as STRONG as Arimidex, Letrozole and Aromasin which is extremely powerful aromatase inhibitors in which it can crash your estradiol (e2) levels which is as bad as having high estradiol as well.

      Dear Thomas I'm quite surprised, why you want to deal with it the hard and wrong way at the same time. I follow the ketogenic diet yet I don't apply what Dr. Berg recommends, which is one meal a day cause it's hard for me, I do just two meals a day. Be easy on yourself OK.

    • @WatchingMyLifeFlashB
      @WatchingMyLifeFlashB 7 років тому +1

      20alphabet From the outside? I'm not sure what you mean? Do you mean long term fasting is too extreme or that it's outside of the scope of Dr Berg's Keto/Intermittent Fasting plan? Because of course it is, by definition. Intermittent Fasting is IF, on & off cycles of fasting, whereas, Long Term Fasting is LTF, extended periods of no food, not really a cycle. Even if it's not in Dr Berg's protocol, there's nothing wrong in finding out his thoughts, findings & opinions would be on the matter. I'm pretty sure that he'll say that we need to meet our body's nutritional needs throughout our fasting protocols & that LTF would starves the body of nutrients for too long of of a time to promote health & would constantly tax the liver with the task of synthesizing & detoxing the large amounts of fats which the body would be burning up to function. Kind off like having a couple of people driving a car 24 hours a day only stopping for fuel when empty, never doing an oil or transmission fluid or radiator fluid maintenance. Sooner or later, the constant stress on the car's system is going to take its toll. The almost constant demand is in contrast to IF which feeds the body fat in the fast & nutrients, minerals, vitamins & amino acids in the break fast time. IF is cyclic. Burn, rest, feed, recover, burn. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that'd be Berg's take on the matter. Up until recently he seemed to recommend 2-3 meals a day & only recently started speaking of going down to 1 meal a day being healthy, so an approval for LTF shouldn't be expected, but then Dr Berg has been known for a few surprises. He could claim that a very, very healthy & balanced person may do ok or even thrive on LTF, but I seriously doubt he'd go there. It might encourage people to alter their diet to a potentially dangerous protocol. IF fasting isn't going to do much, if any, damage to an individual, none of it permanent. LTF could really do some damage, especially in an unhealthy individual. Dr Berg, I sure, goes by the creed 'Do No Harm'.

    Hi, Dr. Berg, would taking DIM supplements be helpful for men taking finasteride?
    How I thought about this, finasteride over time increases you Testosterone, which then coverts more into Estrogen. So taking DIM, would then help decrease estrogen to balance it. Also, is DIM just a bowl of vegetables? Its the same as if someone ate 2 lbs of broccoli?

    High Dr. Berg, I am in my 30s and am lean and muscular but I want to increase my testosterone to help build muscle faster. So I'm going to take Testosterone boosters like Tribulus and Ashwaganda but I think I should take DIM so no excess Testosterone gets converted to Estrogen.
