i like the last sentence in the description :) Proverbs 15:22 "Plans fail when there is no consultation, But there is accomplishment through many advisers."
Placing a rudder should be easy enough. Looks like a great every day plane, slope or fpv Thanks for getting out in the cold and filming another video for us shut ends. 73/cheers
Agreed. I also want a rudder on the Drift: @1:05 "I really want a rudder for sloping." @2:02 "I really want something for my left thumb to do. I think for normal flying you don't need the rudder. But for sloping it would be good." @3:49 "I'm trying to do rudder turns." @5:26 "And, I really want a rudder."
Lovely gliding! I got the ZOHD drift because of this video, it was my first hobby grade RC plane. Crashed it in my first flight without auto stablizer, but now it is back to flight with stablizer, some tapes, and some hot glue. Absolutely love it! I wish it has the rudder, too. Not sure what my second fixed wing should be. I maybe something that resembles a single engine plane.
@@AndrewNewton Thanks! I had seem some people using the CG in front of the factory marks. I got the zohd lion 2s 3500 packs for mine and being in front of the CG marks I had to really trim the elv up to get it to fly level in some glide tests. She eventually had a good glide but I could for sure feel the weight in her. I will check and see if I can get her to balance with these lion pack on the factory CG today and do some more glide tosses. Love your channel! You got me hooked on gliders and slope soaring and your a go to channel for me. Keep up the great work and know it is appreciated by so many of us!
@@AndrewNewton Great minds... :) What kind of airfoil does it have? Best if it's symmetrical. I'm sure it will be fun in any case. Thanks for all you do Andrew.
Andrew, are both your ailerons slightly down or both in line with the wing? Mine were 2mm down on both sides like Mike O mentions, I adjusted to make them in line but maybe that was intentional by Zohd. Also what does your elevator trim look like when flying the 18650s, mine seems to need a good amount of up. CG is dead on. Thank you in advance.
The reason all those seagulls, swifts, eagles, hawks etc want to attack your toy and fertilize your cranium may be because of all the useless effort they've just expended trying to catch the thermal that non-flapping bird is obviously riding. ;-)
The more you feature the Drift, the more I feel like a kid anticipating Christmas. Thanks, Andrew.
Once again Andrew, your review has caused another addition to my addiction collection! Great video

That looks like great fun!
Glad you’re enjoying your new toy so much. 😄
Looks like loads of fun!! Thanks for sharing Andrew!
Thenks
Nice flying, at a nice place to do some slope soaring, that model might become a new one for my collection.
Yes, hard to resist this little beauty
Nimble little thing! Awesome!
Absolutely beautiful flying. Can't wait for mine in the mail 🙏

Phoenix V2 2m is an excellent big glider, if that is what you're into.
@@AndrewNewton Great suggestion!! It looks like a real powered glider, with a rudder. Thank you so much !!
@@AndrewNewton A quick question, can the wings be easily detached so that it's more potable?
Yes, and they fit the Ranger 1600 and 2000 as well
@@AndrewNewton Awesome, thanks!
great glider and great flying
That was very cool! Always wanted to try slope soaring but there is no place to try it locally here. Thanks for sharing.
Wow.
That's magic.
That seagull is like "Hey I can slope too!"
That seagull is like: "if I can eat it, it's mine!"
You make it look so effortless Andrew
Years of practice and many crashes
I think that's the next video, rudder mods and I nav setup
seagull is in love
Andrew it would be great if you and Matt (RTNO) could compare notes between the Kopilot and iNav, swap planes even. Cheers John
Matt taught me about Omnibus boards and INAV but we're on opposite sides of the planet
Hahahaha, how funny! That seagul :D
I know you guys in Oz have some of the most dangerous animals in the world... do we add brave seagulls to the mix?
Killer Gulls we call them
really nice video. cant wait to get my hands on mine! :D till than ill try to learn fly slope :D
Andrew, Thank you for all you do! 1 question, Are you using the factor marked CG?
Yes that seems to work OK for me

Thanks, glad you're into gliders too.
I think those Gulls like it as much as you do Andrew....lol...🤔🤔😳😳😎
Id like to see it with a rudder on it and ditch the motor. Maybe even get rid of the dihedral for some inverted maneuvers...
Exactly my thoughts too. I have a second one coming and that is how it will end up.
@@AndrewNewton Great minds... :) What kind of airfoil does it have? Best if it's symmetrical. I'm sure it will be fun in any case. Thanks for all you do Andrew.
Right Mr Newton. Now that you have convinced my and I am sure others to get one of these little beauties. What would you recommend pnp or kit??
PNP is fine. Kit if you already have the right bits
will it be easy to add a rudder to it ?
Made for it
@@AndrewNewton thx :)
What is the wingspann?
Pretty sure the included that in the link
I'll bet it has a rudder in the next video.
Not betting against that!! 🤣
CG on that gull was a bit off. Looked pretty tail heavy 🤣🤣
plz also do a video of long range with the zohd drift. But GREAT VIDEO!
Unlikely, Matt O might do one
@@AndrewNewton Sorry, But I don't really know who Matt O is? could somebody plz tell me.

Yes they were both down a bit. I adjusted them level but down a bit would be OK. I did need the elevator up a bit with the 18650
Andrew I am looking at buying one and thinking about putting a matek f411 se into it do you think it would fit. Am curious about your thoughts
Yes, I have the F411-WSE board on the way for just that purpose. Made for it.
@@AndrewNewton thanks you have confirmed my plan to purchase one cheers and thanks
I think I might have to add one to my collection as well John. After I finish off the iso mini talon. Thanks Andrew great work.
Nice mate. Banggood? $?
Hi Andrew. Is there a similar plane you know that has a rudder? I want something small but capable. Currently sloping a Weasel from Dreamflight.
Nothing similar
Next video: "Installing a rudder" ?
Did you catch that at the end???
it looked much more "Linear??" with some weight in her.
The gulls there must hate you!!!
Ha yes that was a show off catch
Hey I'm #2 Again! LOL

"ZOHD Drift Aerobatic Slope Soaring", there. Fixed it for ya bud.
Aha, thanks. I will say Aerobatic from now on.
Up until this video I didn't really want one... If only it had a rudder....
The manual says no to acrobatics 😂
Ssh, it was wind turbulence
