hey guys! just wanted to say that shard spiral and comet azur are totally optional for this build. they have boss-specific uses (shard spiral for elden beast and comet azur for fire giant's second phase), but they don't really fit with the finger sorcery mage aesthetic. use or don't use them at your own discretion :)
I mean, the spells are good, but having 99 intel with 99 arcane on two dual stat staves with max casting speed and over 50 mind will obviously make anything strong. Just get to atleast level 400 guys and the game will be easy!
well, you only really need 80 intel and arcane to output virtually the same amount of damage as i am. mind doesn’t matter as much since the DPS is so high that you won’t be needing that many casts (you can also just allocate more flasks). i would say an appropriate level would be 200-250 for this build. thanks for watching the video and cheers!
Not really. Everything in this build besides the magic is basically the same as all other glass-cannon builds. Either the Madness or Poison buff-stacking triad sets (Poisoned/Maddened Hand, Dumpling/Mushroom hat, Ageless One/Kindred of Rot's Exultation Talismans) along with whatever armor and talismans buff your damage source. You can essentially make ANYTHING hit like a truck when buff-stacking like this now since Rakshasa armor lets you get a damage buff from your armor for anything that doesn't have specific damage type armor that buffs it.
@@gevitysama yeah most people show off one shooting bosses but they never specify which Journey they're on 😂. Like, "bro of course you're curb stomping them you're on Journey 3"
I did a build like this and indeed is very fun, but I just noticed that you are full leveled, that's insane mate. I'm in lvl230. I used the same talismans and spells. Gonna try again with the rakchasa and madness, didn't try that. I believe you're using the magic tear and the other one to break posture (or the non-fp consumption). Question, without the second staff from the DLC, why you says the POD staff is better than Albirauric? POD does not scale with Arcane, only int and fai.
If i recall the albiurnic staff reaches like 373 in power with 80 int and 80 arcane while the pod staff has something like 410 with 80 int and 80 faith. He's using the Maternal Staff though which is like 414? at 80 int and 80 arcane with the added benefit of boosting finger sorceries. I think the tears he is using is to boost sorceries and boost attack power at the cost of slowly draining hp. Someone can correct me if I said anything wrong.
Well done. Really powerful stuff happening. Sadly, I will not be benefitting from the armor boosts (specifically the helm and chest) because they are just visually unappealing. Take care all.
Great video! Can't wait to try this build. I have 300+ hours on Elden Ring and this is my first time to see and to know that you can summon Torrent when fighting with Elden Beast 😂😂 I'll have try to that as well. Cheers!
i would offhand the maternal staff and mainhand + cast with the Prince of Death Staff. it has slightly better sorcery scaling than the maternal staff but you’ll still get the Finger Sorcery buff since the maternal staff will be in your offhand.
Awesome! I was just thinking of creating a Finger Sorcery Mage myself. Almost kind of role playing as Count Ymir. I'm a huge fan of the lore surrounding him and the.. " fingers" . " I am a glintstone sorcerer. We study the stars, and examine the life therein.. " But bro I'm only at level 271 so.. How would I go about building this guys stats? Which ones should I prioritize and max out first? I was also planning to throw in some parts of the Impenetrable Thorns build as well to nuke bosses
assuming you’re using the maternal staff in your main hand, i would allocate 80 points into INT and ARC since that’s what it primarily scales off of. you can obviously add more points, but stats soft cap at 80 points so you won’t be getting much extra damage. regardless of what you choose, with your remaining 100-160 points you can allocate it as you see fit.
@gevitysama Really appreciate the response man. I stumbled across your mage video where you use night comet and then this one. Excellent content. Finally, I guess if i did 80/80 for int and arc, I'd be screwed with dual welding the prince of death staff w/maternal. At least, until getting 2nd maternal staff. Possibly having Guilty staff as a backup for when I want to use thorns. And does it really matter which hand I cast with when it comes to getting buffs and stuff? Sometimes I would have a melee weapon in main hand just in case and cast with off hand. Is this wrong to do?
@dellmizzle3885 thanks for your support man! means a lot. to answer your question, yes. if you have a PoD staff and a maternal staff, you should main hand the PoD staff and offhand the maternal staff. Cast with the PoD staff (it has superior scaling and will output more damage) and have the maternal staff in the offhand to give you the Finger Sorcery buff. if you used a melee instead of the PoD staff, you would be forced to cast with the maternal staff and thus less damage. if you used a melee instead of the maternal staff, you would lose out on the Finger Sorcery buff. however, once you get two maternal staffs and equip both, it won’t matter which one you cast with.
@gevitysama 1) So essentially, no exception. " buffing " staff always in off hand? ( casting with PoD in off, Maternal main. For example ) 2) If I did have a melee backup weapon in main hand, I'd just use that then and never cast with the off hand staff? Only cast when both staff's are equipped? 3) Until I get enough stats to use prince of death, or until I get 2nd maternal, would I put main hand Lusat's then? Off hand maternal? *srry for question spamming bro
@dellmizzle3885 1) if you have PoD staff (best scaling staff in the entire game), main-hand that and offhand your maternal (“buffing”) staff. If you don’t have the PoD staff, have the maternal staff (second best scaling staff in the game), in your main hand and anything in your offhand unless you have a second maternal staff. 2) you can do whatever you want, but for max sorcery damage, have two staffs equipped, whether it be 2 maternal staffs or one PoD and one maternal staff. casting in your offhand doesn’t decrease damage done but only having one staff equipped does. 3) i would use maternal instead of Lusat because maternal has superior scaling and thus you’ll do more damage. no worries, and feel free to ask anything else! i know it may be very confusing at times.
