    My hair is 2b. I use a nickel-sized amount of this Cantu cream in my shoulder length hair, followed up with a strong hold gel. When I use this activator cream, I can completely skip the leave-in conditioner and get juicier, fatter curls with very minimal frizz.

      @@mirunajenaru For my hair, gel is better than mousse. I need to get a strong cast to set my barely-there waves, otherwise I lose them. Mousse is too soft to help me with definition. I wait until my hair is 100% dry before I break the cast. I'm currently using Jessicurl Spiralicious.

      Same! oh my gosh 😭 I have fine, low density 2b/2c curls/waves. I recently cut it above my shoulders, and for that length I only use a dime sized amount. When my hair was just past my shoulders I still only used about a nickel sized amount.
      If I used that amount in my hair it will feel so "product-y" and gross, lol

    I really like Cantu I’ve had my hair bleached a few times and it really helps with moisturizing I have wavy fine hair I have to spray water on the activator cream to make it more thinner but I pair it with the Cantu twist and lock gel and I get great definition from those 2 products combined together! One thing I’ve noticed for me is when I’m using Cantu products I have to wash my hair with a clarifying shampoo to remove the build up and I don’t use a conditioner I use a leave in conditioner instead and my hair gets great results from the product that way , if you have type 2 hair skip the in shower conditioner and just use leave in and you’ll see a difference using Cantu ! The smell of the line is amazinggggg !

    How do you keep those defined waves after flipping your hair over? That's something I'm struggling with right now. My hair comes out of the plop beautifully defined and clumpy, but I have to flip my hair back at some point... Frankly, my hair on the back of my head looks like a bird's nest at that point 🤔

    • @SuhannaDeSilva
      @SuhannaDeSilva  5 років тому +30

      Honestly I don’t really do anything special to keep the back pieces in tact but if flipping your head over makes the back tangle try applying everything right side up and removing the plop right side up.

    • @missbehavesclass6405
      @missbehavesclass6405 5 років тому +21

      There can be 2 reasons. Because I had the same problem. 1. I can't flip my hair over ruffly. So I don't put in my styler upside down anymore, and than flip over my hair very delicately, not to disturb the clump. 2. Is that I brush my hair really sleek again after putting in the styler and then I scrunch the curls in place. I also don't scrunch so ruffly, I pulse and then I let my hair go very slowly... That made a huge difference for me and I have really frizz free curls and waves.. Hope that helps you.. 😉

      Same here and because of that I do it like the girl before me described.
      When I wash my hair upside down I style it while standing normal. First I brush and part my hair, then I scrunch a bit water out of the lengths again if needed and then scrunch my hair to make it wavy/curly again (if I use styling product I put it in while scrunching)

    • @isabellav779

      Romy you can try taking out the plop sideways. stand right side up and tilt your head to the side and slowly take off the plop (:

    • @stephanielynn101
      @stephanielynn101 2 роки тому

      Follow swavy curly Courtney, she washes and styles upside down and what the does is brush her hair away from the sides of her head and off her scalp and makes sure she's constantly moving her hair side to side and that the hair on the back of her head can move freely. Which adding plenty of water helps so it doesn't get stuck flat to the back of your head

    just as info, from a lotion/conditioner maker...fragrance is almost always NEVER over 2% of a product, and usually is lower - so anything you see after fragrance is 2% or less of the total product, so the shea butter and other oils are in extremely low amounts in this product. It is mostly water and humectants. Humectants can be a hit or miss, depending upon the environment you live in. If you are in a humid area, humectants will draw water from the air to your hair and can make it frizzy. If you are in a dry environment, humectants will attempt to draw water from your hair, making it dry...and sometimes dry equals frizzy too.

    Wow, thank you for this one! I see that product absolutely everywhere, and it has universally great reviews, but I never thought for a second that I could possibly avail my type 2 waves of it (even in tiny, controlled portions)! Now I have to try it, because if it makes my hair look anything as glorious as yours does here, then I may have found my new HG. ^_^

      Hey did u try it I’m thinking about getting it I have about 2b hair does it help

    • @mysterylovescompany2657
      @mysterylovescompany2657 4 роки тому +8

      @@Hi-hr5lk it's great (and smells like paradise) but it's _super_ rich. You have to apply only the tiniest, most pea-sized dot for your entire head, and even then only with wet hands. Any more than that, and it's so thick it stays on your skin like sunscreen - you won't lose any to your skin, trust - and it sits on top of your hair like pomade. And only deposit on wet (just shy of dripping - like, still much wetter than "damp;, think straight out of the shower and just squeezed out) hair.
      You need like 87% less than you think you do. I use about half as much as I do toothpaste on my toothbrush.

    • @mysterylovescompany2657
      @mysterylovescompany2657 4 роки тому +4

      @@Hi-hr5lk I'm afraid the only tips I have in that regard are to scrunch 'n' twist like crazy, do your plop in a chamois and leave it until you're pretty sure your hair is at least 2/3 dry, and then diffuse, diffuse, diffuse (with _special_ attention to those areas, first)... *or* to follow the above up to the third step, but then instead of diffusing, go to bed, spread your hair out over a silk pillowcase (if you can't afford silk, poly-satin is fine)/transfer your plop with as little disturbance as you can into a silk or satin bonnet, and sleep on it.
      If all that doesn't work, then I'm pretty sure it's not Against The Rules to wind some satin rollers loosely into those sections before diffusing time, as long as you're just following the natural pattern and not trying to make a new one, to bring them up to consistency with the rest.
      I hope that helps! Happy waving. ^_^

      Update I tried the activator and the curling Cream. As she said, it's very heavy on your hair, try to put less and let it dry a little before putting it in (air dry). For the cream, I put it on when it was almost fully dry and, yes they keep your hair together, less frizzy when it's dryyy. Sidenote: that coconut smell is DAMN 🥴. In conclusion, you have to try different way to use this, but it works (for me atleast)

    • @Hello0x0
      @Hello0x0 4 роки тому +10

      You may be putting less product (go by feel, should feel moidtrized and slippery, if you go my looks alone like the clump together,when dry it becomes dry), OR
      maybe let hair dry in a t-shirt and then apply (as the supper dripping method only works on few products but not ALL are activated by dripping extreme wet hair)

    Thanks for sharing your view. I found Cantu curl activator heavy for my low porosity 2 B/C +3 A/B curls. So I use very tiny amount, dilute it, and apply it on my dripping wet hair. It will take years to finish this huge bottle. I think shea butter based products are not good for low porosity hair. May be products with argan oil, coconut water/ milk or oil are better for such hair. Like camelli rose products.

      Technically because it’s not a silicone Cantu is allowed to write silicone free on their label. Polyquaternium CAN build up depending on the grade but can be removed when clarifying, it also doesn’t block moisture.
