My hair is 2b. I use a nickel-sized amount of this Cantu cream in my shoulder length hair, followed up with a strong hold gel. When I use this activator cream, I can completely skip the leave-in conditioner and get juicier, fatter curls with very minimal frizz.
@@mirunajenaru For my hair, gel is better than mousse. I need to get a strong cast to set my barely-there waves, otherwise I lose them. Mousse is too soft to help me with definition. I wait until my hair is 100% dry before I break the cast. I'm currently using Jessicurl Spiralicious.
Same! oh my gosh 😭 I have fine, low density 2b/2c curls/waves. I recently cut it above my shoulders, and for that length I only use a dime sized amount. I really like Cantu I’ve had my hair bleached a few times and it really helps with moisturizing I have wavy fine hair I have to spray water on the activator cream to make it more thinner but I pair it with the Cantu twist and lock gel and I get great definition from those 2 products combined together! One thing I’ve noticed for me is when I’m using Cantu products I have to wash my hair with a clarifying shampoo to remove the build up and I don’t use a conditioner I use a leave in conditioner instead and my hair gets great results from the product that way , if you have type 2 hair skip the in shower conditioner and just use leave in and you’ll see a difference using Cantu ! The smell of the line is amazinggggg !
@@diana_prince_1 well at the time when I made this post my hair was bleached I would use the Cantu leave in conditioner repair cream but now my hair has been back to it’s natural color and porosity for 2 years I just use the Cantu leave in conditioning mist since my hair doesn’t require heavy moisturizing like it did. Hope this helps ❤️
I like this product and my hair is fine 3b curls but I find it can weigh my hair down if I use too much. I prefer gels to cream as well as they give me better defined curls. Thanks for the video
How do you keep those defined waves after flipping your hair over? That's something I'm struggling with right now. My hair comes out of the plop beautifully defined and clumpy, but I have to flip my hair back at some point... Frankly, my hair on the back of my head looks like a bird's nest at that point 🤔
Honestly I don’t really do anything special to keep the back pieces in tact but if flipping your head over makes the back tangle try applying everything right side up and removing the plop right side up.
There can be 2 reasons. Because I had the same problem. 1. I can't flip my hair over ruffly. So I don't put in my styler upside down anymore, and than flip over my hair very delicately, not to disturb the clump. 2. Is that I brush my hair really sleek again after putting in the styler and then I scrunch the curls in place. I also don't scrunch so ruffly, I pulse and then I let my hair go very slowly... That made a huge difference for me and I have really frizz free curls and waves.. Hope that helps you.. 😉
Same here and because of that I do it like the girl before me described. When I wash my hair upside down I style it while standing normal. First I brush and part my hair, then I scrunch a bit water out of the lengths again if needed and then scrunch my hair to make it wavy/curly again (if I use styling product I put it in while scrunching)
Follow swavy curly Courtney, she washes and styles upside down and what the does is brush her hair away from the sides of her head and off her scalp and makes sure she's constantly moving her hair side to side and that the hair on the back of her head can move freely. Which adding plenty of water helps so it doesn't get stuck flat to the back of your head
Update I tried the activator and the curling Cream. As she said, it's very heavy on your hair, try to put less and let it dry a little before putting it in (air dry). For the cream, I put it on when it was almost fully dry and, yes they keep your hair together, less frizzy when it's dryyy. Sidenote: that coconut smell is DAMN 🥴. In conclusion, you have to try different way to use this, but it works (for me atleast)
You may be putting less product (go by feel, should feel moidtrized and slippery, if you go my looks alone like the clump together, when dry it becomes dry), OR maybe let hair dry in a t-shirt and then apply (as the supper dripping method only works on few products but not ALL are activated by dripping extreme wet hair)
Thanks for sharing your view. I found Cantu curl activator heavy for my low porosity 2 B/C +3 A/B curls. So I use very tiny amount, dilute it, and apply it on my dripping wet hair. It will take years to finish this huge bottle. I think shea butter based products are not good for low porosity hair. May be products with argan oil, coconut water/ milk or oil are better for such hair. Like camelli rose products.
just as info, from a lotion/conditioner maker...fragrance is almost always NEVER over 2% of a product, and usually is lower - so anything you see after fragrance is 2% or less of the total product, so the shea butter and other oils are in extremely low amounts in this product. It is mostly water and humectants. Humectants can be a hit or miss, depending upon the environment you live in. If you are in a humid area, humectants will draw water from the air to your hair and can make it frizzy. If you are in a dry environment, humectants will attempt to draw water from your hair, making it dry...and sometimes dry equals frizzy too.
Wow, thank you for this one! I see that product absolutely everywhere, and it has universally great reviews, but I never thought for a second that I could possibly avail my type 2 waves of it (even in tiny, controlled portions)! Jessicurl is extremely expensive trying to get it shipped where I live but I can try boucleme and bouncecurl, again it might take me a while to do reviews because of cost and shipping time
$20 seems like a lot of money. I bought mine for less than $6 on Amazon. Thank you for your review though.
I live in Canada.
Can I use it on my scalp? I am bald and it seems a good moisturizing stuff as an aftershave, could it be dangerous to my skin?
Not good for scalp. Imo
Where’s my natural curly hair guys at
You should check out Giovanni Ferrer, he has AMAZING curls
HELP: I have type 2 hair and I just texturized it(looks wavy).Should I combine this with coconut curling cream to get more of a curl?
Yes, I would, but use a little amount (much less than what she used) because it could weigh down your hair
I tried Cantu today and I’ve been blowdrying my hair for like an hour and it still isn’t completely dry! Am I doing something wrong?
Same??
I had the same. I used too much for my wavey curly hair.
Every time I use it my hair feels hard like if I used gel, is this normal?
Is there any way to weigh down my dry curly hair full day? Any products?
Hair butters are heavy enough to weigh down curls but you’ll have to apply them to wet hair and pull down instead of scrunching
@@SuhannaDeSilva thank u so much❤
absolutely right to Much of this - many Oils including Product is heavy making your Hair and strech it - not perfect not bad its OK
What should I do with my dry wavy hair any products u think I can use ?
I’d recommend doing a deep conditioning treatment before shampooing and applying regular conditioner and leave in and then try a moisturising gel
How do you sleep with wavy hair. Like don’t it flatten
I put it up in a pineapple!
Type 2 curls dont make pineapple shape when tied up
thanks for this😩🙏🏽
Idk but I have vey wavy hair but when I apply cantu to my hair and then when it dries it becomes like very oily and unwashed and stuff. I hate it, can someone tell me the right way to apply it?
Use less product
Do you have to wash IT off
Ece Kobak no
Tbh I think you should change your intro picture (the cartoon looking picture in the beginning)... everything else looks good but your eyes make it look like theirs something wrong with u
What does this activator do to your hair?
do you use the cream every day, and if so do you have to shampoo it out every day?
NO
would this work for a men's perm
Gross why do you have a perm? You want curly hair so bad
so you dont wash out the activator?
Nope it’s a styling product so you apply it and then let your hair dry, you can reapply a little when refreshing your hair between washes as well
Suhanna De Silva ohh yeah cause i just got mine on amazon and i was looking at videos and i came across yours , cause when i showered i lightly dried my hair so it was damp amd i put some on and you can see it but i think i put alot on , then i washed it dried it replied a bit less and thats it
This dried my hair out and caused build up
You should wash with sulfate shampoo once a month to avoid buildup
Happy birthday!
Thank you babe!
What does it smell
is it a leave in
From a bloke who's had long hair for a year and a half, just realised I know nothing about hair lol. When you said stretched hair I was like ooooooo 😳🤔😑
Only black people know about hair. The rest of you learn from us then start regurgitating
I paid like $6 for it at Target. Are you outside the US? I’m in NYC.
I live in Canada and sales tax is 13% in my province 😭
Oh wow! That makes sense then. For some reason I thought you lived in NYC.
Ugh no I wish sometimes just for the cheap shopping
It’s 6 dollars in target
Would this work on a guys type 1 hair?
no
Nope, it would be too heavy/greasy
Can I use daily
Does it create a casting
There’s no cast since it’s a cream
I finally found someone who has hair like mine 😩
Thank you so much
What theee 20$ why so much!??? I bought mines for like 6$
🤣🤣 " that sh!t is expensive 😬"
Thank you
Você é Brasileira? Seu sobrenome está em português!
Lol I don’t! Was just colonized by the Portuguese like Brazil
any hair growth tips ?
Honestly I don’t have any tips that will expedite your hair growth but my last video I give some tips towards the end!
thanks !
It gives you that wet curly look I'm looking for the dry mop head look. Cost me 7 bucks threw it right in the garbage after.
I made the likes reach 2k 😏😌👑💅🏼💕
how was your hair for day 2 or day 3?
I haven’t gotten to day 3 yet lol but so far Day 2 isn’t bad, decent definition but looser, almost no frizz and really soft
Great vid :)
Wait, there are different types of hair?
Of course, it starts with 2a which is straight and goes to 4c which is natural hair
@@farinsexplodiertefreundin215 2a isn't straight... and it starts with 1 which is actually completely straight (with no curve)
@@farinsexplodiertefreundin215it goes beyond 4c but some ignorant ass didn't bother to continue the chart
This video is too quiet for me to even hear :(
Sorry about that! I edit with headphones on so I usually adjust the volume accordingly.
I heard just fine..maybe its your device
sardonyxz your device is probably newer or has better sound, doesn’t mean she can’t take input to improve her videos for all viewers
@@erina4744 ok then ...but on my other device I couldn't hear video and this video with this phone I hear just fine...this is the only complaint I heard about sound...also if it's her device whatever suhanna does it won't help..
U r looking so cute
wowww❤
can i use it for straight hair?
Probably too heavy and won’t really do much considering it too heavy for most wavy textures
i’m a dude so shud i also jus scrunch it?
Yuh
@@angelnedelchev2805 it be working for my south asian straight hair to get wavy curls but I got a buzz so i have to use it again once my hair grow back

Yes

No curl cream will curl straight hair
Wannabe

Everything is exorbitantly priced here
Sorry but your product contains Polyquaternium - a cheap silicone substitutes.
Technically because it’s not a silicone Cantu is allowed to write silicone free on their label. Polyquaternium CAN build up depending on the grade but can be removed when clarifying, it also doesn’t block moisture.
Bro you got scammed 20 dollars got that shit for 5
Yeah exchange rates, import fees and inflation change the price of a product when it’s sold outside of the US
