37:42 The Apothecary's Diary (or Kusuriya no Hitorigoto in Jp) is like a marriage between Hyouka (mystery) and Akatsuki no Yona (historical-politic). It has the historic setting, the unique case problem on every episode, some hints of the long-running political schemes, and the BARELY HINTING of romance like in Hyouka.
The premise? It's basically a girl who's shoved with new mysteries to solve -- either bc the higher-ups want consultation or bc girl is too curious -- even though she tried to lay low.
If you want a badass female MC who has an interest in something other than romance, this might be for you (bc girl is denser than a rock).
But if you don't like long-winded, technical explanatory anime, this might look boring to you because the MC is narrating herself (bc it's Apothecary's DIARY, duh), but give it a try anyways. There's plenty of badass scenes here, plenty of meme-able reactions too!

      @@NicKostii same but different. tl;dr :
Mia is incompetent and dumb but she have good intention and actually worked towards better resolution and actually reached it mainly because the stars just happens to be aligned.... every single time.
Cid on the other hand is strong but whenever he solved something it's always a product of accident with him being none the wiser.
They are both part of this genre called misunderstanding which include other works like Overlord and next year NageBorei and IMO Tearmoon is the peak in this genre.
What makes tearmoon better than most of these genre is basically Mia. Usually in this genre the protag are either unwilling participant taken by the flow or act in absolutely BS random manners that actually solved the problem (e.g Cid randomly thrown a knife that happens to land perfectly on enemy hidden HQ.) Mia on the other hand is a protag that have agency. She proactively works towards a goal, did her due diligence, prepare a countermeasure and yet she often falls short because she's just slightly dumb (she's not utterly incompetent, she's kinda slow but she's working on it being better one thing at a time). However by the power of the plot armor she somehow managed to get the best result every time in a pretty reasonable manners.
IMO there's 3 point that makes me think Tearmoon is GOAT in misunderstanding genre
      1. Mia is just a person. She's your everyday person who have relatively good will, common sense, and flaws like everyone. You actually need more than 1 paragraph to explain her. To put it simply it's a protagonist you can easily relate and cheers.
      2. Any BS resolution are not pulled out of the void ass. Mia actively worked towards resolving the issues and fell short but her prep-works actually the reason said resolution is possible in the first place.
      3. The writing. If the anime managed to pull off the narrator then it should be comedic gold with all that retort and shit. Tearmoon actually function like Kaguya where there's narrator who retort on the absurdity of the situation in a very funny way.

To add to the folk saying you might want to give Tearmoon a chance, I feel like I should outline what it is because it's perhaps easy to misunderstand it from the marketing.
While it has an air of comedy to it, it's not wacky. Most of the humour, really, is in a combination of the princesses inner expressions as her plans fall apart constantly and the very 'overlord'-esque overarching theme of her just trying to get by while everyone reads into her actions too much and overestimates her. Unlike most villainess stories, she's not suddenly competent or quick witted, she's very much out of her depth with only the diary of the future and her allies keeping her afloat. Even when she wants to appear smart she's almost always straight up just quoting what someone else said to her from the future.
Underneath this all is the fascinating element of a once spoiled princess who took everything she had for granted, suffering an inhumane 3 years in a revolutionary prison; abandoned by all but 2 people in her life and where she had neither basic hygiene, sunlight nor food better than the rotten remains they'd toss her. Then after her death she's thrown back into those years of privileges but now with an actual appreciation for them, or if you like, another point of reference so she can now see how ridiculously well she lived.
It's an angle you don't get all too often: more often in these series either their previous life was ALL horrible instead so it's more about getting over the trauma and accepting they're allowed to enjoy things, or the whole wealth and privilege thing is kind of accepted if it's an actual isekai or the revenge/survival is the focus so it's brushed over if it's a regression.
Fair enough if it's ultimately not to your taste: everyone has their own, but I do worry that you're missing out on something you might actually like because it wasn't 'sold' correctly by the marketing :3

Tearmoon Empire has very good writing. If SLF is the best of the VRMMO series, then Tearmoon Empire is the best of the regression series.

I feel people should be able to handle some build up before going crazy. One piece is lucky, by today's standards people would have hated that it takes time to tell its story and want luffy to fight big mom in chapter 12.
PS. The way people talk about UU, sounds like it gets toriko crazy, I only read the final chapters when some giant ape thing jumps into the sky to take naps and fights someone on a mountain with super gravity and a giant zebra snorts at someone and blows them in half along with a crater then some beings fight so long they warp time and have to cut onions for centuries perfectly or pass on then someone punches someone across the planet and another just pokes someone and they explode, are we talking that crazy because I was laughing each week to the bank it was looney I don't care I'm canceled energy I can get behind lol.

100Kanojo is actually fucking peak harem comedy. I binged 152 chapters in two days. Lots of 4th wall breaking and meta comedy, and each girlfriend so far is pretty different from the last. You have some overlap, but they all have their unique quirks. We're up to 26 girlfriends in the manga, and they're all great. There is no best girl, because canonically, they're all best girl. The tagline is pretty much, "The harem romcom where there is no loser." Highly recommend, even as someone who usually hates harem shows. The meta comedy is so strong (and funny every time btw) that there's a prevailing theory among fans that the artist, who is referenced as amazing several times in the manga, will be the 99th girlfriend, and the readers ourselves being the 100th.

13:39 Dead Mount Death Play was SO GOOD. Production quality is not Mappa, Ufotable, or Wit Studio level of good. But they did well in EVERY aspect. The soundtrack, animation, voice acting... some shots did seem off but everything else makes up for it.
And the author of "DURARARA!!" and "BACCANO"?? You bet the story is gonna be interesting and unique. Ryohgo Narita always has the same formula for all his works: introducing a huge cast - all with their own personalities, goals, and objectives. Then have them all clash at one point and let chaos ensue. And yet, it always comes off with a different outcome every time. The atmosphere of the show has a good mix of edginess and comedy, but overall it's simply fun and chaotic.

One of the things that I love this adaptation as its manga reader is that there are some extra details that were written by Narita in the script but could not make it to the manga because of panel and page limit. They did a good job with the 1st episode, using Shagrua's backstory from bonus short novel as well as Narita's script to give Shagrua a vibe of the main character.

As one of the few people who seem to be watching that detective anime (Kamonohashi Rom)….It’s pretty good. So far the cases haven’t blown me away, but they’re pretty decent in a ‘Detective Conan’ kind of style. The characters are all fun so far, and it’s a good watch. Also, it’s not a BL, at least to my knowledge, it’s more a buddy cop Sherlock style thing
