How to replace trailing arms & shocks on a 2002-2017 Saturn VUE, Chevrolet, equinox, Pontiac Torrent

The time has come to get back to work on the Saturn! I'm long overdue for video and the trailing arms and rear shocks on the VUE are junk. Today I'm going to remove and replace the rear trailing arm and shocks. I have to admit some mistakes were made and I will have to fix my screw up, but in the end I think it came out okay. Where did you buy the trailing arms? Are there different for right and left?

@@treetovar1052 www.rockauto.com is PN MS504239 but I wouldn’t try to just replace it, unless you have access to a hydraulic press. But if you have a shop doing it, the could probably tackle pressing the bushing out.

Fluid film or something the heck out of those rear trailing arm mounts. They rot out like the front cradle mounts... :(

On my to do list, this summer is to remove all the rust and spray everything with under coating. If I can’t get enough of the rust off though, I’ll have to do a rust converter. Either way fluid film probably is not a bad idea to spray inside of those pockets. 👍🏼 thanks for watching

My trailing arms arm completely rotted major steel repair for me

Yeah, I got really lucky! But the steel just to the inside of my trailing arm pocket is rotting away, so I have more fabrication to do this summer. Unfortunately, rust will be the death of my Saturn.
