Regarding the above video, upon further review of the published research, it appears that there isn't conclusive evidence supporting aDduction as an action of the inferior fibers of the glute max . Based on my reading around the subject, I think it is unlikely. It seems more likely that the the role of the gluteus maximus is in controlling and stabilising the hip during adduction, rather than directly causing it. Some very popular anatomy websites and even textbooks out there suggest that adduction is an action of the gluteus maximus' inferior fibers. However, the evidence does not support adduction being a role of the glute max.
Is there a reported length of the gluteus maximus tendon that attaches to the IT band. Where you pointed it looks like it's basically from the level of half the IT band to the level of gluteus tuberosity of femur?

Are the right and left gluteus maximus muscles two separate muscles?
Yes, they separate muscles 👍 but the name gluteus maximus just refers to them both together.
@@BodyworksPrime it was the name that threw me! But we have a left and right gluteus maximus, both separate? Thanks
Yes the left and right are separate muscles. However, they do connect onto some of the same structures (i.e sacrum and thoracolumbar fascia).
