Excellent video! I inherited a 68 Camaro and this helped tremendously. I just got the same trunk mat you have in the video and questioned why so many slits are in it. I always look at the trunk of classic cars! If the owner doesn't care enough to have a clean, rust free, put together, attractive trunk then I question if the entire car has missed details. Thanks for sharing your wisdom!
Thanks for the kind words! I agree with ya. I drive it daily and use the trunk all the time so I knew it was worth the effort to restore it. You have a cool family heirloom. How exciting!
Oh I was on edge until you put the second coat! Good job 👏 I’m a painter by trade , almost 40 years and never had to paint a trunk and about a week ago I had to paint an entire inside of an ambulance with that coating, it was tan , never in my life seen it in tan .
Thanks Sprayguy! Yeah, added some suspenseto this episode. Two coats are mandatory. Wow, you've been doing this for a while. I'm gonna hit you up for some advice when I polish this Camaro's 45 year old paint next year.
Thanks Wayne! I agree. The new paint is hard as a rock and durable but I covered up. We drive it everywhere and use the trunk routinely so the mat comes in handy.
You bet Dspence! Glad I went thru the trouble of the second coat. I agree with you being a shame to cover it but we use it all summer long to haul stuff.
Good job on making that trunk looks awesome!
Thanks Brian! I just Subbed your cool 😎 channel.
Nice job FHT !! I would have put the cut for the trunk seal in the middle where the lock is.
Good observation Steve! I realized that after I had it glued in. Dooooh!

Good job Terry! It looks very good. That second can of trunk spray really did the trick. I think I like that finish more than the mat?

That second can of paint was a good call. Made a big difference. Almost a shame to cover it up.
