The autobiographical entry of Sargon was a 'ping' moment. I had pondered that some of the events in the bible seemed to echo Sargon info and this slaps a big, luminous bookmark in it. The common hero myth trope checklist is also excellent!

I came to a very similar conclusion through my own independent research. If you read the Bible to understand its meaning, you will likely come to this conclusion. I am so very thankful to those who are diving into this... Finding others who are capable of reading and asking good questions coming to the same conclusions as my own is very validating. Keep it up guys. The reason that good people can't quietly worship as Christians is because you tolerate the evil being done by those who clIm to be Christians. If this sounds crazy... My advice is to start taking your own Bible to Bible study and stop letting Sweet Mrs Ann tell you what it says and what to think about it. You can wake up before it's too late..

The problem with the account given by Diodorus is that it was written down approx. 50 BCE - meaning that it is more than 500 years after the Judeans wrote down the account after their release from Babylonian bondage. This could easily have been a morphing of the Septuagint Moses by locals. But there are four Moses versions. In the Moses version recounted by Manetho, Moses was an Egyptian priest named Osarsiph who tried to take over Egypt, quarantined everyone with leprosy into a city called Avaris, made himself the ruler of the lepers, and changed his named to Moses.
The Greek version of Moses recounted by Strabo, where Moses wasn’t a miracle worker and he didn’t speak to God; he was just a philosopher who sat down, thought about it, and decided that monotheism made the most sense.
There was the Moses from Jewish historian Atrapanus where Moses is the son of pharaoh Chenephres, conquers Ethiopia, starts three religions, and frees the Hebrews by whispering the name of god to pharaoh.
And there is the Roman Moses recounted by Tacitus, which follows the Greek narrative of Moses leading a group of lepers, leading them through the wilderness eventually to Canaan.
But the Egyptians themselves carry no contemporary account of Moses, the slaves leaving or any of the other specifics from the bible. This is always explained away as the Egyptians being embarrassed or some such,. But the Egyptians do have a historical accounts of people from the levant in Egypt - recounting of the Hyksos around 1600 BCE. And rather than slaves or Jews, the Hyksos were foreign kings from Canaan who ruled lower Egypt for over 300 years. These Canaanites were more advanced than the Egyptians and introduced many advances, like the combination bow, the short sword, better bronze and the chariot. The story actually has several Moses in it - pharaohs Ahmose and Tutmose, who could not budge the estimated 150,000 Hyksos from their defenses. And so they made an arrangement that if the Hyksos returned to where they came from the Egyptians would not harm them as they left. The Hyksos would have demanded this agreement in writing, and in the Egyptian style would have likely carried this ahead of them in a traditional Egyptian ark to protect them as they travelled. And where did the Hyksos go? Jewish historian Josephus states that they returned to where they came from - Jerusalem (Canaanite for "Blessings of Jeru"). So rather than the Moses story being a historical Jewish account, it is much more likely to have been a remembered story from when the Hebrew people were still just a Yahweh cult in Canaan before the Bronze Age Collapse saw the Canaanites retreat into Lebanon, leaving the region clear for the unique Hebrew group to emerge from them, and over time merging with other mythological stories from other traditions. Moses in this case is simply a change over time in the retelling of the names of several pharaohs with -mose in to their name (Ahmose meaning, "Beloved of Aton"), and the Ark of the Covenant morphed in the same way from the Egyptian ark carrying the agreement that protected the Canaanites as they left Egypt into a magical item of protection from Yahweh.

The Jews did not move into Palestine, there was no Palestine. This was the land of Canan of the Canaanites. Israel was renamed Palestine by the Romans after the destruction of the 2nd temple and the exile of the Jews as an insult to them. Palestine's name was thought to be based on the Philistines who were most likely the sea people.

    • @fernquiroz
      @fernquiroz 11 місяців тому +32

Somewhat true, it was most likely still Canaan during the timeline when those events were said to have transpired.
Philistines came a few centuries after the Hyksos Period.
The Peleset, also known as the Philistines, settled in the Levant around the *_12th century BCE._*
Ancient texts and archaeological evidence suggest that the Philistines established a presence in the southern coastal areas of Canaan (modern-day Israel and Palestine), particularly in cities such as Ashkelon, Ashdod, Gaza, Ekron, and Gath. They played a significant role in the history and conflicts of the region during that time.
The area of Philistines/Palestinian rule encapsulated the 5 main cities pentapolis including *_Jaffa_* which went back and forth between the Philistines and the Hebrews of Judea.
Phylistia existed from 1175 BC until the Babylonian conquest of the Levant in 604 BC. When it was burned and then incorporated into the *_Neo-Assyrian_* empire by Nebuchadnezzar II.

Deuteronomy 20:16 "However, in the cities of the nations the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes (includes children and infants). Completely destroy them-the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites-as the Lord your God (Yahweh) has commanded you."
Samuel 15:1 Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy all that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.”
Joshua 11:11 "The Israelites completely destroyed every living thing in the city, leaving no survivors. Not a single person was spared. And then Joshua burned the city."
The god of Moses was a bloodthirsty psychopath who instructed Moses and Hebrews in genocide of every town they came across, ordering them to put women and infants to the sword and to plunder all their possessions. No true creator would order the killing of women and infants, and what kind of person could even do that? One with no conscience. Yahweh was an impostor and he chose these people for their cold cruel hearts and greed for other peoples land and possessions. Nothing has changed.

Just to clarify a point of detail regarding the Odyssean raid on Ismaros: Odysseus does in fact betray the crew by holding back from general distribution the ransom given him by the Apollo priest Maron, which includes the wine the hero later uses to intoxicate the Cyclops Polyphemus. Odysseus confesses to Alcinous and Arete that he kept the gifts of Maron out of the general booty distribution, the lawful way of allocating prizes. When he, going against the crew's pleas to return to Goat Island, later orders them to remain in the Cyclops cave he has the wine of Maron with him in a leather pouch. The crew are then awakened to the reality that their general did not follow the lawful distribution protocols and this is what prompts them later to open up the (similar) leather pouch containing the winds given to Odysseus by Aeoleus. Odysseus had acted in an overbearing way towards the crew in the Polyphemus episode by refusing their pleading to evacuate and then by displaying a booty prize that he had previously concealed from them. It is very important to identify the hero's hubris and to understand that the crew have reason to be mistrustful of Odysseus... there's my pedantic contribution to this fascinating documentary!

Ah yes, pepper the narratives with brutal honesty about our leaders to instill a strong sense of personal responsibility. Values around honorable behavior. The very best of our ancestor's efforts to pass on ancient wisdom. I only wish our current leaders paid heed to ancient pearls of wisdom preserved in their own cultures and those of all other cultures.

    • @gloifti
      @gloifti 11 місяців тому +2

@@oo2free In my reading, Zeus' statement about the wicked deeds of mortals has to apply equally to Odysseus as it does to his crew. Another example of this comes in the episode following the winds of Aeolus, when the ships enter the harbour of the Giants. Odysseus recognizes that the tall cliffs surrounding the narrow strait represent a danger and, rather than leading the fleet into it, he moors his ship at the entrance. When the Giants attack, skewering the men like beached fish before cannibalizing them, Odysseus' own vessel is the only one that escapes. Like with the Cyclops, he does not hide this from the Phaeacian court. It is his honesty rather than his righteousness that results in Arete granting him, at last, his return to Ithaca.

The story you watched are part of the consequences for mankind from the aftermaths of the Tower of Babel (read about the Tower of Babel). Nothing can ever confuse Yahweh's true signature for mankind to discern God's Creation or the stories that are told about various wannabe creators or potential superior deities. There is no deity that can be superior to one that has marked you Breath with his name.
In fact, Yahweh divine signature is marked in the breath of your spirit. Don't confuse people as to with who is the only one true Alpha and Omega.
To describe an Inhale as Yah and your exhale Weh will be your proof of the marking of the Beginning and the End( Your Breath is Yahweh's divine and absolute signature of the only author of your soul).
If you Breathe right now and use the phonetic sound inscription of Yah on your inhale and Weh on your exhale then please be understanding that is your absolute proof of the existence of the Alpha and Omega. Anything else someone may describe is nothing as absolute as the power of Yahweh (meaning the power to create any being in the formation of a soul). Most talks of Gods are talks of a God of Fiction or a derivative of the stories of actual fallen angels (or their offsprings) with aspirations to be to be the Alpha and Omega that is only Yahweh.
If you understand the story of the Tower of Babel you will know that was the beginning of the confusion of tongue of mankind for their disobedience and desire to put themselves above or equal to Yahweh.
It is wise to understand that Yahweh is the only one that can have the absolute control of your breath as an embedded inscription that is undeniable and factual as his divine encrypted inscription (in you).
Yah on inhale Weh on Exhale is the Alpha and Omega's inscription that he created in you (and all of mankind). Only bow to the only one who can create an inscription of their Divine Name in your in your Breath (Yahweh -Yah on inhale Weh on Exhale) is the Living Proof of the Alpha and Omega!

The Spirit Realm is real. Supernatural things do happen. There is more to this world than we are told by the controllers. Love and hate are real. Good and evil are real. Much wisdom is kept from the common people. What happens when evil rulers gain wisdom and use it for their own selfish desires for power and wealth? The real power is love. But most people don’t love others as themselves. We are born naked and bring nothing with us into this world. What can we take with us when we die?

Fantastic. See now I had been going thru greek and Roman gods stuff like a maniac child devouring it all since about age 7 when mom introduced me to it with a nice book gift. As an extremely abused kid (psycho dad) I was perhaps much more skeptical than other kids of what was real and what was fantasy(?) maybe. My reading comprehension was very, very high starting at about age 6. I was an atheist since birth and with all these gods, and the ones from India and Africa too plus the pantheism of my Native American background I saw all these gods in the same level. When I read the bible at 11 and then theBook of Mormon after that…It just was crazy seeing all the retellings of the same stories over and i er. I distinctly remember reading “and the baby was placed in..” and thinking “Good grief how many babies are they throwing away anyway?! This is just the same same same.” And of course the kids around me were all baby Bible thumpers trying to condemn my “soul” to be burned forever. The social stigmatization of child atheists is damaging even when the kid doesn’t believe in hell.
This finally is Someone putting allll of it together with pictures and a nice bow. I wish I coukd send this to the smug asshole boy from my school-bus who went onto become a preacher at his Dad’s church. Never was there a group of more self-righteous fools brainwashing their insulated kids. For their colonizing ancestors planted themselves on Osage land and the next 150 years they never traveled nor learned of people different from themselves. Their way was the only way. Women were subservient to men, kids to their parents, and black and Natives were…subhuman. Gays and witches should be killed cuz the bible said so! Whatever that nasty book said was right and it was “good”. Close minded people would shit their pants if they came across this info-lol😂.
Of course they don’t really read so this is perfect but might still be beyond their level of comprehension. 🤷🏻‍♀️

God does not and is completely good. You must have noticed the difference in information between all the texts you’ve read. I’ve read many and while the literary devices have much commonality, only one has the truth. You don’t have to ascribe the evils of man or deceivers to God but he understands why you do that. The good news is he loves you anyway and will forgive you if you ask for forgiveness. Nobody can truly ask for something if they don’t believe there’s something or someone to ask, so belief, then faith, and peace after. It’s not by force but a humble spirit to get to know God.

I am only about 2 minutes in but my first thought was that if Moses was real and he grew up with Egyptians his spirituality started there, as most religions have roots in Egyptian beliefs anyways so he was already a spiritual believer by nature before he ran away from Egypt. Case in point my former childhood religion of Jehovah's witnesses stemmed from a man who was a Mason and believed in pyramidology but of course no one in that religion today knows that fact and it's never spoken of. The Egyptians are so interesting!

Moses (meaning drawn out) can be seen as the pharaoh's name/title. X-mose. X is the name of a god. Ahmose, Tuthmose. Mose means born of (X). Or come/flow out of (X). The meaning is almost the same as in Hebrew. I think many central terms/names are derived from Egyptian concepts. The birth ritual on the Nile seems to indicate this. I've done absolutely nothing past year. But I hope to publish a very detailed hypothesis, functional method actually, for analyzing aspects of these languages and how these relate. I'm 99% convinced that the Hebrew thing is bolted on Egypt. Language, concepts and possibly the religion itself. In that case I'd suggest that it's Thoth cult. Thoth is a sidekick in Egyptian culture. More like a neighbor that walks in. Like Kramer in Seinfeld.

After the children of Israel had avenged themselves of the Midianites, and captured their young virgins for future use, Moses was "gathered unto his people" (Num. 31.2), i.e., leaving the Sun, "he went and returned, and dwelt" with the Sun - he completed the circle of the zodiac, or year. Having thus looked upon the Promised Land (summer), Moses died, and buried himself in a valley in the land of Moab (water-father = Aquarius = Moses), "but no man knoweth of his sepulcher unto this day" (Deut. 34.6). Although one hundred and twenty years old (12 months), " his eye," it is said, " was not dim (his stars shine as brightly now as they did then), nor his natural force abated (the rainy season still comes on every year) " However, the people wept thirty days, i.e., during the passage of the Sun through Aquarius, the Wash-pot (Ps 60.8), or the rainy month.
Aaron (summer solstice in Leo) is opposite Aquarius. The "death" of Aaron and Moses = Age of the Bull to Age of the Ram.

This recycling of tropes and plot elements is going on today, in fantasy literature. For example Tolkien, inspired by old folklore came up with a fantasy world that was inhabited by elves who are immortal, dwarves who live underground in mines and humans. And now hundreds or thousands of authors use that concept in their own fantasy novels. Or, Star Wars, the story of Luke Skywalker. And in a lot of fantasy or scifi books you find characters who have very similar plots to go through.

While the information presented here is interesting, it didn't convince me that Moses was a trope of ancient societies. I know "The Odyssey" very well and recently came to know the Hebrew Moses account quite well. Comparing Moses to Odyseus and Zeus/Circe to Yahweh is ludicrous. The baby in the basket thing was more convincing. But then I thought: it's possible that people used to either hide or save their babies in rivers in baskets made of reeds (not to send them floating, but tethered to safely find them later). This felt like what Freemasons do: find similarities between cultures and myths using common themes and images. But at the end of the day, it's so superficial that it doesn't say anything convincing or truly damning. I DO appreciate the comparisons though and common themes or threads. It just didn't convincingly clear up so Moses was or might have been. I wanted to hear more about the shepherd leader, Egyptian priest and the leper colonies.

Ouch! You really laid it on thick in that opening sequence. Nice job. The closest the movie's Mose and Pharaoh actors ever came to Semitic genealogy was the hashish they smoked in their trailers. Ah, Hollywood: the pit of all failed expectations. Yul Brynner as the King of Siam. Tony Curtis as a son of Taras Bulba. Three white men playing Charlie Chan in 44 movies over three eras of classic cinematography. Raymond Burr shoehorned into Gojira, while his effing room mate was George Takei . . .
About Mose. Those who wrote about Mose believed in magic. He and Aaron apocryphally won a battle between themselves and Pharaoh's "wizards".
I began a fantastic fiction series based on that account, thinking, "if magic was real then, why is there none today?" It proved a worthwhile avenue to pursue. 13 unsold novels later (780,000 words) I can at least relate that I much enjoyed the ride.

@MythVision. I just finished the video (mostly, because of a Shabbat nap I fell asleep in a couple of places). As a (Reform) Jew, I don’t have a problem saying that Mosheh was a mythical figure. But as a friend said in the late 1990s : « it doesn’t matter if Mosheh Rabbéinou [existed or not nor if he] was tripping on some good drugs. This is the [nominal author of] our Jewish story [and origin story] and the Torah lays down the Jewish way of life » and that is why we follow the mitzvot of the Torah.
Having studied ancient Egyptian in middle school, I have to disagree with this who try to say that his name is related to the ending of Tutmose etc because the consonants and vowels are wrong. It only appears that way if you follow the Greek and Latin translations of the Tanakh. His name is משה or מושה (plene, Mošèh) not מסס or מוסס (môsès or moßèß using the hieroglyph that looks like the long-s similar to f). /Š/ and /s/ have different sounds and symbols in most languages : sh/s in English, ch/s/ç in french, [sh]/s or ll/y/s in Spanish which except in Argentina don’t have the sound, ш/с in Cyrillic but like Spanish Greek and Latin didn’t have the /š/ sound and so the closest they came was /s/ or σ/ς unless like Manetho they found spelling conventions to mark a sounds like /š/ or /3/ (3ayin). @PlanetDeLaTourette

Sounds transform when they are borrowed from 1 language to the other.
The meaning of a word can change as a concept by time alone or in the borrowing process.
So, that's a non point when analising the origin of a word from a mith that took different paths in diferent cultures/ places.
Specially as political powers and positions are known to change this on purpose to serve their goals and justify their actions to others.

Caput (Latin) gives us chef 🧑‍🍳 (fr), capital (fr, es, en, it, pt), chief (en, from chef), cape (from fr)… but if the word is borrowed early then the changes of the borrower’s language through the centuries can affect its pronunciation within the language but that is different from not having the same sounds at the time of borrowing.

I’ve played with Mandarin and Japanese, Portuguese, Italian, Ladino and Yiddish, Ukrainian, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, old English, Aramaic and Arabic (I can even pronounce the 3ayin when speaking hebrew and transfer that sounds to my Arabic, which I learned using the IPA alphabet before the internet). I hear the differences during the words adopted from other langues and usually it is because of the inability to make the sounds from the original language.
Take the word lunch (en) :
In Québec it’s /lœ~š/ , in France it’s /lœntš/, in México it’s lonche /'lon tšé/. None of the languages have the u-sound that American makes so they adapt it. Spanish doesn’t like ending words with a consonantal sound, generally speaking due to its Latin-language roots, so adds the -é sound at the end. I’m not sure about Japanese, but the fact that every consonantal sound (except the nasal n syllable) must be followed by a vowel sound means that if they were to borrow it it would transform to something like /lü-n-tsü/ which could be pronounced as /lün-ts/ because the /ü/ sound is weak and can often be dropped, as in the word desu /des/.

This fire is MY fire.” And, of course, how can God’s fire burn a bush? The bush is also God’s fire. Moses saw one bush afire on the mountain, and I would like to tell you: every bush is afire. There is no need to go to Sinai, just look in this garden - every bush is afire with God because all greenery is His fire, all life is His fire, each breath is His fire.
Patience… then suddenly you start feeling He is present. Impatient, and you are rushing madly, and in your mad rush you cannot see. It is almost as if you carry a beautiful camera, and running around you try to take some pictures, and you go on rushing and running. What is going to happen? - you won’t have any pictures, you may have only a few destroyed plates. The whole film will be just a chaos. When you are taking a picture you have to hold the camera absolutely still; it should not be shaky. Then a clearcut picture comes out of it.
When you are not rushing anywhere and your inner being is just still, herenow, God reflects. Then all chaos disappears, all questions disappear. Buddha says: SHANTI, patience, is the third PARMITA.”

I suppose if I were Satan I would want to muddy the waters where the story of Moses and the Israelites were concerned too.

That argument always sounded silly to me. I’m an effort for Christians to dodge problems with their religion prompts them to imagine that a monster created most of ancient history.

Benjamin Netanyahu of Russian Polish(Gog) ancestry has now been prime minister of the "state" of Israel going on a total of 16 years. Under this man's reign over 20, 000 Palestinian men, women and children have been murdered. Now this is fact unlike the story, myth of a Moses.

Great work MythVison. So a new Moses will come, indeed Moses always comes. The power of the Archetypes and Platonic symbols of the human mind move history and culture and societies and therefore families and individuals. Mythic but Sacred Myth. Really good video.

Aaron personifies the summer solstice in Leo. This is also where we find the Egyptian lioness Sekhmet.
. Leo The fifth church of Asia (Fire) is Sar-dis, that word, formed of the Ammonian primitives, Sar, the rock, stone, or pillar, and Dis, God, afterward passing into the Coptic, or ancient Phoenician word, EL-EON/ELYON, the Sun, the Being, and naturalized into the Greek, Latin, French, and English word Lion - that is, the Lion of July; who, having been the Lamb of the tribe of Gad or God of March, appears here as the Lion of the tribe of Judah, or July. And here, as the Sing-Avatak, or the Deity, under the form of a man lion, bursting from a pillar, exemplifying that frightful language ascribed to God in Hosea, 13.8; " Like a bear whose cubs have been taken away, I will tear out your heart. I will devour you like a hungry lioness and mangle you like a wild animal.
Also see Isaiah 9.14-15, where the noble/royal lion (Leo constellation) is the head of Israel and the tail the liar is Scorpio. The Christians took this beast (Manticore) and turned it around to become the Griffon. Aquila, the eagle constellations rises with Scorpio. This is the same "Eagle" that carried Ganymede to Mount Olympus.

Good post. I have started looking into astro-theology myself recently. It's quite interesting where many of these stories find their roots. There's a man named Ralph Ellis that digs pretty deep into some of these ideas. He also has some ideas that are a little disjointed, but interesting nonetheless.

Many have similar stories of things that happened in their lives but it doesn’t mean they are all the same person. We can find similar stories about a person told in different ways with different names in religions and cultures. The story of the Great Flood is told in many places, cultures and religions with different names for Noah and his family. So this is true with Moses also I see.
