The best part of this video for me was tying the writings to the situation and attitudes of the Jewish societies at the time of the writings. It was really eye-opening to see how these weren't just random writings, but a reaction to ongoing events.
Oddly enough Daniel says the fourth beast will change the law change the festivals and the holy days and that’s exactly what Christians did to the Jewish religion. They high jacked it changed the law gave it new festivals changed the holy days to Sunday and created a new god
Good point....But please remember that Daniel chapters 7-12 were added way later, and that the jews stole other peoples mythology to create their own god and culture; so then we don't need glasses to see that these are man made prophecies

I was one of those Christians that obsessed over the Revelation throughout my high school and early college years. I read all kinds of apologetic books that would explain and define and "prove" how the Revelation would come to pass "soon". I was so ignorant...but so are all those that taught me to believe and feel like that; and those before them, before them, and so on...

People think prophecy stopped. It never did. Each parable has different meanings. There are codes. Each book have several meanings. The end will happen. It would have probably already happened,but Jesus is patient and doesn’t want to loose a single one of us
Honestly it is just human nature to want to find meaning to life and where we come from. I too spend a lot of time studying and praying, but my mind is strong enough to not be taken ahold of an ideology. We are still able to use reason and logic to understand. Sadly I see the vast majority of the Christian community live in fear and terror. I feel sorry for them because I know the feeling but was able to avoid it. The same emotional attachment to the text happened to me when I read the Quran. I have noticed a lot of these religious text are filled with emotional technique. They have the ability to take the reader and change their perspective of life. Something I think about a lot is how Jesus said that the same holy spirit that raised him from the dead is within all those who accept Jesus. He said that we would do more miracles than him. Yet, when looking at our reality our miracles are from science. In the time when we have cellphones around the world, not one miracle has been performed. So like you, I asked the question, why? Either the people who wrote the gospels were great writers or the believers of Jesus have no faith like Peter who walked on water.

about 4 years ago you had Rabbi Singer tell people that Peter the Great from Indonesia died and many people saw him come back from the dead. I have searched utube, google, and AI without anything close to what he explained. It almost sounds like the Rabbi made it up and it would be helpful to provide some type of link to this story. lol. Man. Tell me you never read your own book without telling me. You got to know all the contradiction’s.the date of the crucifixion between John and mark are different. Jesus makes the wrong priest named in the book of Samuel of who ate the show bread with David. You got added sections. You got the dead coming to life and walking around after Jesus died etc.

The term "son of man" is mentioned in the Amherst Papyrus 63, earliest Jewish text ever found, from the 5th century BCE in the Elephantine region, where these Aramean Jews had a temple. Was Jesus analogous to the god Eshem-Bethel, among other people or deities? First here's a quote from an article titled Eshem and Ashima, Gods of the Name. "We may even have an image of Eshem in the seal of btʾšm, the iconographic analysis of which Avigad connected to southern Syria. I live in Ireland so it's no big deal being an atheist/anti theist here. But I realise that it's a different ball game in the USA. I have been a keen listener of Dr Josh and recently "found " Dr Kipp. I am getting both of Dr Josh's books; The Atheist Handbook to the Old Testament 1 and 2 in the near future. A big shout out to Megan and Dr Josh for saving me some dosh. What lovely people they both are. Your channel does a great job of showing the difference between "christian apologists " who twist the narrative. Whereas genuine biblical/ ancient language scholars tell it as is. This was the perfect way to spend a Saturday morning. I think I have a new favourite MythVision documentary 👏🏻 As someone who was once mildly obsessed with end times prophecy and eschatology, I was really looking forward to seeing this, and you did not disappoint. So basically the Hebrew Bible was never never for people living 2000 years after the fact. We've all just warped and twisted our interpretations to fit our lives and times, generation after generation.
It's either keep believing that Jesus brings immortality with his second coming ("soon") or 'do it yourself.' Guess what option will be more favorable to us naked apes? FYI as an added added bonus you can also influence events through praying to "God" such as praying for world peace. Life and Death ain't magical or metaphysical. It's very hard to get people to shuffle themselves right back to the indifferent care of an indifferent universe.

It’s basic common sense & no dates or times were ever definitive. & yes I do understand exactly what the arguments here are & understand cognitive dissonance. However I propose even in recognizing a cognitive dissonance creates the dynamic degree of dissonance hence confusion, denial, dismissal, defense, etc. Rather consider the very principalities behind the dissonance as opposed to simply deeming its method as entirely being relevant. The human mind is a carnal one it is never going to be impervious to such things & that’s exactly the point. It’s an unfolding within its own unfolding. It’s both belief within non belief & non-belief within belief. The premises are all hence assumptive. We did not literally exist during these times but rather only rely on looking back & making guesstimating in retrospect which doesn’t mean any man is right but rather we are carnal minded riddled w/imperfections & flaws inside & out. Just sayin. Humans only are capable of producing & generating opinions. To speak as if one knows w/o a doubt is very assumptive & opinionated & hence only one aspect of a process continuously ever unfolding. Discoveries for studying & reevaluation transpire all the time so there is a measure of impossibilities in what is perceived to have been or must be true which neither & none of us were actually there so we can only again base these notions on interpretations based of what we believe we have come to know & understand it does not mean anyone is definitively correct nor definitively wrong. This a skewed perception not actually entirely well rounded in the holistic sense which makes these arguments less effective in my humble opinion not that I am defending nor disclosing my own person views. The premise may very well be in order to capture those intrigued into engaging in familiarizing themselves w/such readings to also be a dynamic unfolding over time corrupted by the eyes of the interpretation at whatever level their own mind has come to develop over time. Blind faith is exactly that blind one that does not ask questions one that does not have a connected relationship. Faith is meant to be questioned & engage both the questioner & the interpreter & the teachers & students. & if you understand our built in reasoning in fact cam be reasoned out in any & all directions there in lies the very discrepancy our ability to reason anything out into appearing to be reason & logic when in actuality it isn’t. To not presume & to relinquish one’s attachments to such things one must grasp that none of us actually truly know a darn thing for it is ever evolving. The only thing I can say w/o any amount of doubt is that I actually know nothing at all. The unfolding is dynamic in this manner & reliably unreliable but the principals behind them are the intent of what is being attempted to be conveyed. A lot of the supposed holy books are plagiarized from early and way more ancient writings from the Sumerians, Assyrians, Akkadians and Babylonians. Was it really about God, or something else? Just wondering. Others have different takes.
Maybe it was their attempt to understand the world because when we do that, we always base it on earlier literature that did the same, and over time it turned into stories about god 🤷🏽♀️ what amazes me, is how many people believe wholeheartedly in the bible while completely ignoring all other ancient scriptures including for example, Greek mythology etc, as if all of that writing means nothing. In fact I’ve found that the people who do believe in the bible that way, can never actually have a discussion about it. They can only preach it/repeat it and if you don’t agree, they’ll ignore you as well. They live in a bubble and they make no attempt to see anything outside of it and they’re not encouraged to.
@@autumn5852Well, there’s a lot of writing that predates the Bible. The Sumerian Texts for example. They have the Enuma Elish (The Seven Tablets of Creation), which is Babylonian but the original text is in Akkadian on most likely before that in cuneiform by the Sumerians. There’s also the Vedic writings and so on. The cuneiform tablets which are in the thousands are available for all to read. These describe everything from property deeds to recipes and everything related to a civilized people. There was a great deal of civilization before the Bible. And some of the stories a pretty out there. If you look at the structures around the world, I’ve been to a lot of them. In India for example, they have temples that were not built, but carved, with rooms and relief work. These temples are massive. In Ethiopia, they have churches that were carved, one piece into the ground. In Turkey they have the underground structures that go down deep and sustain the structure above them, the type of engineering required was insane. And then there’s Egypt. Nothing has been more of a physical slap in the face to all that we know, or think we know. When the biggest and best pyramids were supposed to have been built the only metal attributed to humanity was copper. A metal like copper cannot cut granite or diorite, which is even harder. How can we figure out God, when we can’t figure out ourselves. 🤔

The Pyramids in Egypt, of course the ones from the Giza Necropolis, also the Red, the Bent and so on, were not built five thousand years ago, certainly not the Sphinx. I wish the Book of Revelations had not been included in the New Testament; it has caused so much misery. It inspired Thom Harrison’s “Visions of Glory,” which influenced & emboldened criminals like Chad Daybell and Lori Vallow, Ruby Franke and Jodi Hildebrandt, and the allegedly criminal acts of the infamous Tim Ballard.
Fun fact: the Eastern (Orthodox) Church excluded it for over four centuries as many Eastern bishops came out and anathematized it early on. It wasn't until the sixth century (when bad shit started happening to Constantinople) that it started gaining acceptance in the East. To this day, it is the ONE book from the NT that is not used in the daily readings or in the Sunday Liturgy. In the West, by contrast, Revelation was always part of the "canon."

Am I correct in my understanding of what you said here? Did you say that, the Revelation of John was not a set of unique visions and, he borrowed from a previous, well known religious text? Did I understand correctly? Also, 4 Ezra and 2 Baruch were both written as late as the 1st century? I would be very interested in an interview with Francesca Stavrakopoulou on this topic. I would never have expected to see and hear interviews with an atheistic humanist, that I respect and admire as much as I do her. Every time I see her, I want to reach in the screen and hug her! Although I do believe in the existence of Deity, thanks to the Revelations I have received from her and her colleges, such as yourself; I am finding a far more liberated and peaceful outlook concerning unbiased, non dogmatic belief. Francesca is correct. The truth is much more exciting. Although, I have to admit; in some ways also disappointing. I am very interested now to learn, in what era the book of Enoch was written. Something tells me; it may not be as ancient as I have believed.
My worry about "end times" is that there are a LOT of people who believe in it. My worry is that when one (or many) people focus on a specific outcome, then the tendency is to make whatever their minds believe come into being, even subconsiously. So now we have millions of people on Earth who firmly believe that our world is going to end violently. The problem with this line of thinking is that anything they feel can help this prediction come to fruition will be supported (again, even subconsciously - i.e. it is inevitable). In contrast, anything that can even remotely help prevent this prediction from coming true will be rejected. We will perpetually be striving to fulfill the prophecy...until it actually happens. Those who intpret the Bible literally are very scary people.

The best part of this video for me was tying the writings to the situation and attitudes of the Jewish societies at the time of the writings. It was really eye-opening to see how these weren't just random writings, but a reaction to ongoing events.

I was one of those Christians that obsessed over the Revelation throughout my high school and early college years. I read all kinds of apologetic books that would explain and define and "prove" how the Revelation would come to pass "soon".
I was so ignorant...but so are all those that taught me to believe and feel like that; and those before them, before them, and so on...
Don't stop believing, remember 'the little Book' Only the Lord Himself Who received it, can interpret it - Find the Lord of our Time and you will receive the True interpretations. Cheers.
People think prophecy stopped. It never did. Each parable has different meanings. There are codes. Each book have several meanings. The end will happen. It would have probably already happened,but Jesus is patient and doesn’t want to loose a single one of us
Honestly it is just human nature to want to find meaning to life and where we come from. I too spend a lot of time studying and praying, but my mind is strong enough to not be taken ahold of an ideology. We are still able to use reason and logic to understand.
Sadly I see the vast majority of the Christian community live in fear and terror. I feel sorry for them because I know the feeling but was able to avoid it. The same emotional attachment to the text happened to me when I read the Quran.
I have noticed a lot of these religious text are filled with emotional technique. They have the ability to take the reader and change their perspective of life.
Something I think about a lot is how Jesus said that the same holy spirit that raised him from the dead is within all those who accept Jesus. He said that we would do more miracles than him. Yet, when looking at our reality our miracles are from science. In the time when we have cellphones around the world, not one miracle has been performed.
So like you, I asked the question, why? Either the people who wrote the gospels were great writers or the believers of Jesus have no faith like Peter who walked on water.
Revelation already happened long ago, we are living in Satan's "little season" now. We have been deceived, and this video is silly.

The term "son of man" is mentioned in the Amherst Papyrus 63, earliest Jewish text ever found, from the 5th century BCE in the Elephantine region, where these Aramean Jews had a temple. It’s basic common sense & no dates or times were ever definitive. & yes I do understand exactly what the arguments here are & understand cognitive dissonance. A lot of the supposed holy books are plagiarized from early and way more ancient writings from the Sumerians, Assyrians, Akkadians and Babylonians. Was it really about God, or something else? Just wondering. Others have different takes.
Maybe it was their attempt to understand the world because when we do that, we always base it on earlier literature that did the same, and over time it turned into stories about god 🤷🏽♀️ what amazes me, is how many people believe wholeheartedly in the bible while completely ignoring all other ancient scriptures including for example, Greek mythology etc, as if all of that writing means nothing. In fact I’ve found that the people who do believe in the bible that way, can never actually have a discussion about it. They can only preach it/repeat it and if you don’t agree, they’ll ignore you as well. They live in a bubble and they make no attempt to see anything outside of it and they’re not encouraged to.
@@autumn5852Well, there’s a lot of writing that predates the Bible. The Sumerian Texts for example. They have the Enuma Elish (The Seven Tablets of Creation), which is Babylonian but the original text is in Akkadian on most likely before that in cuneiform by the Sumerians. There’s also the Vedic writings and so on. The cuneiform tablets which are in the thousands are available for all to read. These describe everything from property deeds to recipes and everything related to a civilized people. There was a great deal of civilization before the Bible. And some of the stories a pretty out there. If you look at the structures around the world, I’ve been to a lot of them. In India for example, they have temples that were not built, but carved, with rooms and relief work. These temples are massive. In Ethiopia, they have churches that were carved, one piece into the ground. In Turkey they have the underground structures that go down deep and sustain the structure above them, the type of engineering required was insane. And then there’s Egypt. Nothing has been more of a physical slap in the face to all that we know, or think we know. When the biggest and best pyramids were supposed to have been built the only metal attributed to humanity was copper. A metal like copper cannot cut granite or diorite, which is even harder. How can we figure out God, when we can’t figure out ourselves. 🤔

Officially no one knows who invented Astrology, the Zodiac, navigation by the stars, or time keeping. But whoever built the pyramids, & pioneered the 24hr clock in Egypt 5000 years ago already knew the exact dimensions of the Earth, & the speed of light. 'Phoenician' is alliterated in 'Venetian', & 'Vikings', being Kings of the Sea, [Sea Pharoahs]
El is the primary God of the Phoenicians, representing the offspring of Egypt, & his consort Astarte or Ishtar represents the Assyrian half of the alliance. Such lineages & alliances can be traced (through the naming of gods) to Ireland & the Vikings, Indonesia, the Americas; even as far away as Australia, & New Zealand.
It denotes Sirius as 'Son' of Orion & Pleiades, which sits at 33 degrees of the Zodiac. The basis of the Sothic (Seth) Decan Calendar of the Egyptians. The New Moon in this position marks Rosh Hashanah, the Egyptian, Celtic, Phoenician, & Assyrian New Year, with the first New Moon of September, so called as it's the 7th House of the Zodiac, when the Sun is in Ophuichus.
'Phoenix', 'Benben', or 'Bennu', is Egyptian for 'Heron', or Feathered 'Serpent'. It baptised itself in frankincense & myrrh at Baalbek, then alights atop the Great Pyramid, upon the Holy Grail, or Altar of Ra, every 630 years to take three days off the calendar; during the course of the first New Moon of Nisan, which means 'Prince'. The Capstone of Pyramids is even called the Benben or Bennu.
The Phoenix is found in all religions, which are all Astrological Allegory for the Moon travelling through the Constellations as a soul migrating from body to body. Thus is the basis of Joseph Campbell's Monomyth, or 'Hero's Journey' with the cycles & orbits of the planets serving as portents, omens, allies, etc. Thus Astrology was the Science of the Bronze Age & Reincarnation was the early teaching of the Gnostic Christian Church, & relates to the lineage of Kings: "The Pan is Dead! _Long live Pan!"_
The Bennu is the Egyptian Phoenix, to Phoenicians the Hoyle, Etruscans saw birds as sacred too, as did Celts, & Picts. Hebrew & Iberia have the same root; meaning _'over'_ ie _'overseas'_ or 'those [whom travel] over [the] sea'. A colony called Iberia also appeared on the Eastern shores of the Black Sea, with the same Dolmen & Megalithic culture originating in Ireland and Brittany circa 4500BC.
_Phoenician_ means 'Scion of the Phoenix', the first Bible: Vaticanus Graecus; 'Scion of the Sacred Serpent' (Prince). Then there's the Essenes; :Sons of Light', the Tuatha De Danaan; Sons of Light, Anunnaki; Sons of Light, Arthur Pendragon; Arthur [Thor] 'Son of the Dragon'. Chertoff is Russian for "Son of the Devil" & Dracula also means 'Scion of the Dragon'. Masons call themselves the "Brotherhood of the Great White Serpent", & the Ziggurat of Anu denotes her as a great white Serpent too, while at New Grange & the Bru na Boinne, Ireland (4000BC) the white quartz ramparts also denote the Moon. The Moon itself travels either side of the Solar Elliptic by 5 degrees through specific constellations in a serpentine fashion that is always changing, but repeats every 19 years, the time it took to train a Druid or Magi, Magi meaning 'Teacher'. The Phoenix is also associated with this sacred number 19.
"Pharoah" means 'Great House' or 'House of Light' & Cairo used to be called Babel. Pharaohs were called 'Commander in Chief' & wore a hooded crown representing feathers, as do Native American Chiefs, ie the Feathered Serpent. Aztecs also had 'Serpent Kings', (Canaan means Serpent Kings, & Sidon was a Son of Canaan & Great Grandson of Noah) who were called to lead with "cunning & guile" being the virtue of their "right to rule"; being seen as "just" in public, while shrewd in private. "As wise as Serpents, (while appearing as) _gentle_ as Doves." The old Egyptian flag of an Eagle holding a Snake is also reflected in the Modern Mexican flag, denoting the Constellations of Serpentis (13th sign of the Zodiac) and Aquila.
The dimensions & 12 mathematical constants of the Great Pyramid are also expressed in New Grange, & Stonehenge, as well as in Watson Brake, (2500BC) & Teotihuacan, which correlates to the Phoenician/ Sumerian Seximal system, which is what our modern systems of time are based on, unlocking a fractal pattern reflected in the musical chord, electrical resistance, relative Planetary orbits, indeed; throughout _all_ creation.
Officially no one knows who invented Astrology, the Zodiac, navigation by the stars, or time keeping. But whoever built the pyramids, & pioneered the 24hr clock in Egypt 5000 years ago already knew the exact dimensions of the Earth, & the speed of light. Because these can all be calculated using these Megalithic sites as a Surveyor use a Theodolite. Specifically at Teotihuacan; 230 degrees opposite Cairo, & with the exact same footprint. The ideal positions to determine the speed of light using the transit of Venus, allowing for accurate Longitude for Maritime navigation. Capt Cook did the same thing in 1774 when he 'discovered' Easter Island.
The only culture that fits the bill was wiped out "not one stone upon the other" by the Romans in 146BC. Tyre, the capital of Phoenicia (Israel) sat just offshore from Ursu Salaam: City of the New Moon; City [or 'Rock'] of Peace; root of the name _'Jerusalem'_ & was also seized by Rome in 70AD after a 3.5 year siege. When Alexander sacked Tyre in 332BC they moved to Carthage meaning "New City" or New Jerusalem, & built a second temple with Pillars of Bronze. Nebuchadnezzar also sieged Tyre for 13 years, taking the City captive in 573BC: the same time as the biblical account of the Jews, (& again the Romans in 70AD after a 3.5 year siege, also consistent with the same biblical accounts).
Palaset was the name of a tribe of the Sea Peoples, Pallas _Set_ denotes the New Moon of Ammun Ra rising in Gemini, the *Pallas* Constellation of the Twins "that stand before Orion", due West of the Temple between the Gates [Pillars] of Gibraltar; "Gabriel's Altar", ie 'Pallas Stein', or Pallas Stone, 'Phallus' or Philosopher's Stone: the _"Rising Son"._ So 'Wormwood', like 'Tyre' means 'Bitter Rock', for the same reason; as the Son rising from the 'Bitter' [Salt or 'Black'] Sea of the Underworld; The 'Black Rock' or 'Gatestone' 🌑
The Cross of Tyre or Ba'El ❌ represents Lunar maximums & minimums & correlates with the Cross Quarter days of the Solstice Calendar. Align the Cross ❌ Chi Rho Christian ✝️ & Star 🔯 to the Zodiac, & you have a Compass & Timepiece that correlates to the Nautical Mile; allowing for global Maritime navigation.

Fun fact: the Eastern (Orthodox) Church excluded it for over four centuries as many Eastern bishops came out and anathematized it early on. It wasn't until the sixth century (when bad shit started happening to Constantinople) that it started gaining acceptance in the East. To this day, it is the ONE book from the NT that is not used in the daily readings or in the Sunday Liturgy. In the West, by contrast, Revelation was always part of the "canon."

Am I correct in my understanding of what you said here? Did you say that, the Revelation of John was not a set of unique visions and, he borrowed from a previous, well known religious text? Did I understand correctly? Also, 4 Ezra and 2 Baruch were both written as late as the 1st century? I would be very interested in an interview with Francesca Stavrakopoulou on this topic. I would never have expected to see and hear interviews with an atheistic humanist, that I respect and admire as much as I do her. Every time I see her, I want to reach in the screen and hug her!
Although I do believe in the existence of Deity, thanks to the Revelations I have received from her and her colleges, such as yourself; I am finding a far more liberated and peaceful outlook concerning unbiased, non dogmatic belief. Francesca is correct. The truth is much more exciting. Although, I have to admit; in some ways also disappointing. I am very interested now to learn, in what era the book of Enoch was written. Something tells me; it may not be as ancient as I have believed.

My worry about "end times" is that there are a LOT of people who believe in it. My worry is that when one (or many) people focus on a specific outcome, then the tendency is to make whatever their minds believe come into being, even subconsiously. So now we have millions of people on Earth who firmly believe that our world is going to end violently. The problem with this line of thinking is that anything they feel can help this prediction come to fruition will be supported (again, even subconsciously - i.e. it is inevitable). In contrast, anything that can even remotely help prevent this prediction from coming true will be rejected. We will perpetually be striving to fulfill the prophecy...until it actually happens. Those who intpret the Bible literally are very scary people.
